First time on Maui and it is absolutely a beautiful place to have a vacation. The beaches are amazing. I would come back again and find my peace.

Stayed for 12 days at this location in Kihei! First time staying at this condo complex. Place was perfect for us and our two adult children. Perfect location on beach with a great view off our deck. Walking along beaches was outstanding (turn left to walk along Sugar beach, or right to walk along beach into central Kihei). Two bathrooms worked perfectly between 4 adults. Will happily stay here again!

The beach right outside has so many turtles it was great! Wish there was a hot tub but the unit was easy to get into which was so nice and not too far from activities!

However, this condo was just alright. First time not using Airbnb and going through different company. Overall cost savings not much and we booked direct. Condo outdated, not very clean. Shower didn’t drain and sheets, pillows etc old and not great quality. The view was nice and there was nice air conditioning. Kitchen well stocked for cooking. Cleaners came about 10 minutes before check out time, we were about to head out but this was not great. We will definitely stay at the co dos again but not this one and probably not with the rental company.

We have visited the Menehune Shores condominiums on two separate occasions, staying in different units. This unit has a nice view of the ocean. It was clean and functional for our family of four and we enjoyed the stay. The building is starting to show its age as the water was out on one day and the elevator closest to our unit was not working on another day. The pool is on the small side and not heated, but the beach is nice for small kids as it is sheltered, shallow, and the waves are small.

Really enjoyed my stay

This was perfect for our family of 6. Unit is very clean and very well stocked. The views from the balcony and terrace are breathtaking. Beds are comfortable, plenty of sheets, pillows and blankets. Pull out sofa is good for kids. There are games and puzzles to keep you busy. The location is quite central. Would definitely stay again.

The beach is long and great for walks with your feet in the water, the protected wildlife sanctuary (within the rock pile near the pool) is a nice swimming location and a great place to see turtles resting (note that this area DOES NOT belong to the condominiums), and you are a short drive from just about everything Kihei has to offer. The grounds of the complex are well kept, the pool was great when the heater was working, there are places to rinse off on the first floor, and the provided chairs, barbecues, and seating were great. The facility made for a great home base for our vacation.With that being said, unit 425 left a bit to be desired. The unit was not as clean as it could have been, the beds are worn out, and overall the whole unit needs an update. The kitchen lacks basic items like cutting boards, a knife sharpener, and serving ware/utensils, and what is there is a bit cheap or in need of replacing. The view from this unit is very nice, but the photos in the listing do not show that the balcony does partially face a neighboring building. It is still a nice spot to sit and enjoy a sunset or meal, but we did feel a bit misled. To summarize, we would consider staying at this facility again if we return to Kihei (which is AMAZING but there are lots of other places to explore), but we would definitely pick another unit at Menehune Shores. If you are not a family that cooks, or you only plan on being at the condominium to sleep, you may be more comfortable staying here than we were. Some people we met were in units not operated (owned?) by Rentals Maui, and those units had been updated and were in much better condition. There is a lot of opportunity here, but unfortunately it just was not what it could have been.

Bring your own beach towels. Beach chairs provided by host. Parking spots are tight. View from balcony is very nice.

Plus, you can find sea turtles resting on the rocks there, which is amazing! The master bedroom does get a bit warm, but there are fans to help cool you off. If you leave the windows open at night, you will start to hear traffic around 5 am, so we kept them closed. The pull-out bed is very uncomfortable, but we used several comforters provided to cushion the springs to make it usable. The floors could use a good mop, as our feet were pretty dirty if we walked around barefoot, but overall the condo was nice. The parking spots are insanely small, which caused some anxiety as I'm pretty sure the rental car got a few new door dings, but nothing major. Overall, the positives outweighed any negatives and we would definitely stay here again.

We loved the unit It was exactly as the pictures showed. We watched the sunset over the ocean and could hear the sounds of the ocean. Nice swimming beach and very private. Great location in the center of Kihei. It was a little warm without ac but plenty of fans. Loved having the window s open and loved the breeze. Met other people who return every year to this condo. We certainly would. Aloha Maui!

The condo is perfect. Close to many things in Kihei. Drives to other parts of Maui reasonable. The view is wonderful. And it’s right on the beach! Only 2 (not so big) complaints: the parking spots are small. Large vehicles do not do well here. And the mattresses are very hard. Not great for my back, but we made do. The stay was completely worth it. We had a wonderful time and loved the condo. Would absolutely recommend and stay again! Mahalo!

There was no AC. You had to have all the windows with no screens open to help cool off the unit. There are ceiling fans and a couple box and tower fans. But it's hot here in June and it would have been nice to have the ac it said it's supposed to have. It's also super windy in the afternoons.

We had a wonderful time with family while we stayed at the Menehune shores property. We were able to see the beach right from our balcony. Beautiful views every day! The property came with boogie boards which our kids loved! The weather was nice from early morning until about 1pm and then the wind picked up. We only had to drive about 15-30 minutes away to find beaches that weren’t as windy. When it wasn’t windy we found ourselves relaxing on the beach and exploring the reef during the low tide. We really enjoyed exploring around the beaches by our condo. The property was well kept and we had plenty of towels and blankets and pillows. We were provided the basic amenities which helped us to have an easy going trip. Our only complaint is that we felt that the property could use a little updating and could provide a little more up-to-date amenities. The reason being is that our other family stayed at another condo on the property and we were able to make a comparison between our room and their room. We also wish that we could have been allowed an early check in and a late check out without having to pay for extra days like our other family was allowed in their room. Other than that we loved our stay. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

It was a beautiful property, and they had a couple cool perks on the patio with and ice chest and boogie boards.

Great property! Easy to find from the airport. And in a location that gave us easy access to the best of Maui. Veiw was spectacular from the lanai. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful property!

First time staying in kihea, and happy to discover this property is in the quieter part of town. Still convenient to shops and restaurants, without the crowds and traffic that lie south. The unit has a gorgeous ocean view, easy beach access, and well-maintained grounds including a pool and deluxe rooftop grills. The fish pond is perfect for tots, since it's completely protected from waves. The unit had everything one could need, from awesome beach chairs and coolers to towels and a fully-stocked kitchen. Parking is free, safe and simple. The location is not on the clearest blue beaches, but you can find them 5 minutes to the north. My kiddos were fine, but if you're looking for snorkeling, you'll need a short drive. The location is also very close to OGG.and the town of Paia, making airtravel and the Hana trip much more accessible than other Maui locations. Plus, the town feels super relaxed and welcoming. There's an on-site Indian restaurant with beautiful views; we've got an aversion to Indian food (that's on us) and were glad the strong smell of the restaurant didn't impact this unit's location. Could not recommend this more highly for anyone looking to explore Maui from a well-appointed base, or looking for long stretches of deserted Beach.

The property is right on the beach and has amazing views. It was great listening to the ocean waves. It is close to all the restaurants and grocery stores, making things very convenient. We will be back!

The ability to open the patio doors at night helped with the lack of air conditioning. The unit could benefit from a deep clean. For example, fans in closet covered in layers of dust and the dishes didn't seem clean. The location was decent in that it was convenient to Kihei restaurants, etc. There are much nicer beaches on the island though. We drove down to local beaches versus swimming at the one near the property. The water was brown when we were there, but other areas on the island the water was clear and swimmable. The twin mattresses in the front bedroom desperately need replaced. They are very thin and my son opted to sleep on the couch, he said the couch cushions were thicker than the mattress. This is ok for a quick stay if you plan to spend your time out exploring the island but if you are wanting a place where you can use the beach and pool near your unit, I would keep looking.

The unit was very much as described. We were right on the ocean and able to go to sleep to the sound of the waves. We saw sunrises and sunsets right off our patio. We had six people and our oldest used the pull out couch and then the three girls were in the second bedroom using the blow up air mattress in the unit along with the two twin beds. Everything worked as it should, it was centrally located and we walked on beach every morning. There are also beach towels, cooler, and beach chairs to use. Well worth it for the price.

Great location and clean complex. Unit is dated but it’s understandable as it’s a rental with high traffic usage. Couple of cabinet shelves are missing the pins so they’re unstable and a few dishes came flying off the shelf and broke when something was placed on it. Lol Loved the area with the sea wall and the residents hanging of the rocks-turtles!!

The amenities were nice and we appreciated the coffee! Our one biggest downside was the street noise - we could hear traffic over the ocean all day. The front door didn't have a lock such as a deadbolt or chain. And a small thing - perhaps the cleaning crew is short, but the tops of all the door frames really needed a dusting. Parking was easy and we didn't find a lot of walkable places, but close drive!

Cleanliness wasn't bad but needs a deep clean, i.e. vents in bathrooms had a lot of dirt, lint, etc. Condos are right off of main road and was very noisy. With that said, the condo served the purpose and the view was great! Unfortunately with all the rain run off the water was dirty and we didn't swim while there.

This property is exactly as pictured. Clean beds were comfy. Great with 2 bathrooms, one for us and one for kids. The roof top was great for BBQing and watching sunsets and stars. The only downfall for us was the road noise. You are 3 units in from an extremely busy road which means from 6am to 10pm you hear all the cars when outside on lanai or if have the windows open. This was disappointing as we love to hear the ocean waves. It was great to hear them in our sleep. The kitchen was fully equipped including plastic storage containers which was great. Everything you needed for a day on the beach was there. Note that the brach at condo is not really a swimming beach. Water is very brown/red from soil runoff, can't see past surface. But many nice beaches very close. Very easy location to get to wherever your plans take you and if you just want to sit on lanai or beach tonwatch the whales- perfect location. Thanks for the great holiday.

Very comfortable with ocean/beach views and access. Close to restaurants & activities.

Our visit in Maui was very enjoyable. Pros: Menehune Shores Condo is in a great location in Kihei and right on the beach. Beautiful long beaches to walk along to both sides of the building. There is a fish pond right behind the condo that is safe and shallow for kids to play in. The condo unit that we stayed in was very good and met our needs. It was well stocked with kitchen ware for all our cooking needs and beach equipment to enjoy the beach. The unit has a fabulous view of the beach and ocean, it was a very peaceful view to wake up to every morning. There is no air conditioning in the unit, however there were ample fans that kept us cool at this time of the year. Cons: However the unit could use some renovating. It was very tired looking and out dated. Some brighter and modern furniture would make it more welcoming. The kitchen could use a makeover ie granite counters instead of tile. The stools by the the bar were rusted and should be thrown out. In a previous comment from last year, someone had mentioned that the elements on the stove needed to be fixed or changed…… still not done. Pots and pans did not sit properly on the elements and hence did not heat the food properly. I hope the above is taken as positive feedback by the owners to make the renters stay that much more enjoyable. So overall a great vacation, would have been even better if it hadn’t rained on our last 2 days! 😊
