Lovely old country house, inviting decor and great open fires.
Tbh the rooms are a bit tired and my shower needed some tlc. Saying that it’s a lovely old house and has tons of charm.

everything
there was nothing to dislike
4.1
It is very quiet and feels very exclusive
It was difficult to find the reception as it wasn’t signposted

Such a lovely place,
I traveled for business in Cambridge as usual every month but this time with my daughter, this is the reason I stayed in Haverhill and not in Cambridge. She was staying during the day with the daughter of my collègue. She had a blast and was so sad to leave. She loved watching the rabbits and giving grass to the horses. Such a special experience.
Bed a little small
Window at the ceiling without a blind

Lovely location with lovely grounds. We had a garden room, which was quite large. Enjoyed our breakfast on both mornings - even though we were the only guests on the second day, full English was stilled served. We met relatives on the first day but the second day we just wanted to relax. We had a nice walk around the grounds, the churchyard - which was very interesting and visited the garden centre at the bottom of the road and the local pub. Strange being on our own there but nice and relaxing.
Everything was ok.

The food was excellent and Dawn our waitress excellent. Beautiful location and loved the size of our room, bed very comfortable
The person who greeted us was very sour, didn’t make us feel welcome and certainly didn’t ask us any questions throughout stay not even did you have a good weekend! Was surprised there was no telephone in room to communicate with reception, the curtain pole in our bedroom was broken and was taped together and the bath had rust marks in it

The staff were so attentive and professional. This really didn’t feel like a hotel stay where you were just a statistic; it was so homely and there was great attention to the little details in the room.
Breakfast was wonderful and the team were so accommodating, professional and great fun.
We couldn’t fault the room, parking or reception and both commented that we would return again.

Lovely old house but accommodation was in courtyard type rooms
Our room in courtyard had windows on 3 sides and everyone walked past it

Great location and really quiet
Electric Shower wasn’t powerful and I found cobwebs above the curtains, behind the TV and between the spotlights. It seems like the cleaners don’t look upwards when cleaning

Good welcome. Friendly helpful staff, excellent breakfast. An amazing hotel and grounds.
We had an amazing suite, with a very comfortable lounge. The only complaint was that there was only a double bed when there was plenty of room for a king. THE ONLY COMPLAINT!

breakfast cooked to order very good
very nice location quiet easy to find

Stayed one night, the room was perfect, spotlessly clean and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever had in a hotel.
The grounds were beautifully kept, set in quiet countryside.
Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty.

The lady we saw was good. Perfect for my fsniky
The place could be a little less scruffy on entry the odd caravan was odd
4.1
Beautiful Manor house. The owner was very welcoming as he spoke to guests by the fireplace. The room was unexpectedly and delightfully very warm for an old building, even the renovated, modern, huge bathroom had underfloor heating! The huge open grounds areas were immaculately taken care of and provided a fantastic area to star gaze at night and watch the rabbits and pheasants in the morning.
Arriving at 5pm, it was dark and it was hard to find the parking area. A sign would have been helpful for the drop off area and the overnight parking area.

Complimentory water, living room semi attached, quiet
Not overly clean, confusion where to check in and get the keys, no approachable service, run down
4.1
Lots of outdoor space, really friendly/accommodating staff.
Bathrooms were slightly run down.

Breakfast and evening meal good serving staff good
On arrival at about 4pm greeted by a very miserable woman room ok but was an annexe at the back not in the hotel few little faults some lights not working plug in sink broken one of the rooms smelt a bit musty went to get a drink no draught beer no wine list for evening meal and a very limited menu only three choices we were told we were the only ones dining and could go elsewhere if we wanted to but as we had all had a drink we decided to make the best of it three starters four steaks and four desserts bottle of wine and drinks was over £190 good but a bit pricey

lovely location and grounds.
The property was fine, albeit it I was sharing it with a substantial number of spiders that clearly were long term residents.
For £170 for the night (B&B) I expected more.
Staff were a bit frosty.
I was due to have brunch nearby with some family and when that was cancelled I had the option to have breakfast at the hotel, but to be frank I felt so unwelcome that despite having paid for it I thought I’d just leave.
Shame. Was really looking forward to it. Perhaps just an off day at my expense.

Stunning setting. Fabulous food. Superb facilities and excellent staff.
Would have benefited from air conditioning....it was mega hot!

large room with large bathroom. very clean and tidy. well presented. parking near room.
no way of ventilation in room in the night unless you left the French doors open. extractor fan not working in bathroom (not mentioned as been reported in other reviews previously) bed too low
walk to main house for breakfast as when booked with booking.com you get garden rooms so not staying in main hall. breakfast was average and felt rushed. seemed over priced for what we had

Great room and breakfast.
One member of staff was very friendly, whilst the other was not.

We were welcomed upon our arrival and immediately shown to our room. The bedroom and bathroom were really spacious, and located around a courtyard with lots of areas to sit and relax. We were staying with two other couples for a wedding elsewhere, and it was the perfect place to be. We had dinner at Sturmer Hall on the Friday evening, which was delicious, and we dined on the terrace because the weather was glorious. Breakfast was also scrumptious, with plenty of choice. The staff who looked after us whilst we were there, were a fabulous team. They were all friendly, helpful and professional, and always made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel grounds are beautiful and full of wildlife, and there is a very pretty church next door.
Nothing, it was all just what we wanted from our stay.
