This is second time I stayed at Hilltop and it was a good experience again. Rooms and showers are nice and they have a beautiful patio on on the roof with a great view. The pool area is beautiful too. If you’re lucky, you’ll be surrounded by the cutest, friendliest little dogs that live there!

photos on website make the hostel look far nicer and larger than the reality. the floors were filthy, beds we slept in were Sandy and dirty, without a pillow cover. no storage in rooms for bags.

-The location is fantastic, a very short walk into the centre of Salento. -Great set-up for hot sunny weather. -Staff are friendly and bathrooms are very clean. We saw them being cleaned regularly.

- Rooms were extremely mouldy, there was black mould on the walls, ceilings and mattresses. You could smell it on entering the room. It was so bad that we had to change accommodation after the first night. The mould was so bad on one mattress that two people had to share a single bed. - Loud music between 8am and 11pm, which we felt was very early and woke us up. - Not set up for rain, our room had a patio door out onto a puddle meaning we had to put raincoats and shoes on in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. - Hostel has lots of cute dogs, however they pee everywhere including in the puddle outside our room.

Property has potential, nice pool and layout, coffee available all day if you asked for it

Horrendous management, apparently they don’t know how to organise their bookings, problems checking in, a friend had to cancel his reservation even though he ended up staying there. I had to move rooms the next day because “booking.com made a mistake”. When I got to the room to collect my things new people had moved to the dorms with two big dogs sitting in my bed. The dorms are damp and wet and moldy, I got bitten by a tick, manager refused to give me his name

You need to ask for a pillow, the room are a bit small and so bed really close from the selling Not enough plug in the room for everyone to charge your phone at the same time and I was in the room at the entrance which is not well isolated from the noise

Rude owner, once they get the money they don't give you the facilities you paid for.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. And in general the hostel is very good value for what you get. The swimming pool and chilling area are great, as well as the bar and the restaurant. You get free coffee all day and food and drinks are very cheap. Mattresses are quite comfortable. I think for the price you pay the value is quite good!

Music is played very loud day and night. I asked for the dorm farthest from the bar (and the music) and they located me there so that'd be my tip :) Rooms and bed linens are quite humid. So they don't have bed sheets but just the mattress cover and a blanket, but thankfully I had a sort of sleeping bad made of thin fabric for these situations.

Hotel staff was very friendly. Location is great.

It smells of mold in the room. Room extremely basic (no trash can, no table, no chair) They put music all day long and night. All rooms are around the pool where music and party is, so either you can hear super loud music or other people. it’s difficult to be there if you are not there for the party.

A special place with people who want to make your stay a pleasure. A hostel with 8 dogs, all beautifully behaved and pampered.
