Great location, in the dead center of town
Bunk beds were quite comfy and I got the bed in the corner I asked for
Check-in was rather quick with vague information. Tea was provided in the reception room below but had to go ask in the cafe for the kettle.
No plugs by the bed, no shelf either. No locker (I think there might have been small ones for valuables in the reception room as I saw them, but wasn't given any info about them)
No heating most hours of the day (only a few hours early morn and eve). I get heating's expensive these days but if you are making guests pay quite a lot to stay - especially in a dorm - the least you can do is to make sure guests are comfortable. Raise your prices if you're losing money, but don't make your guests uncomfortable. The owner said she left it on a bit longer for me after I asked, but I did touch the heater and it was stone cold.
You can't even get warm with a nice hot shower because the water is lukewarm and it's one of those showers that stop working after about 10s, and you have to press the button again. You can't even press it before it ends to keep it going, it doesn't work. It only starts again once it's stopped and you press again.
I arrived after a very rainy day spent outside, I was drenched and frozen, and not being able to warm up was awful.
And while it's apparently too expensive to provide heating and hot working showers for guests, it was apparently fine to leave the cafe door wide open (was open when I left to go to a supermarket, still open when I came back)
Icing on the cake was my only roommate who was clearly staying a while and leaving her stuff everywhere, and asking me if it was ok to do yoga in the room at 4am which was apprently "not the middle of the night" to her. She did end up doing it outside after I said no but ffs... And while hostel cannot control its guests, they can check the state of the room and ask said guest to not act as if it was their own private room.

I stopped over for one night and drove over to Snowdon the next day which was just a 20/30 min drive away. I also parked over night in a car park round the corner which was free during the night. Location was great, surrounded by picturesque streets. Decor in the hostel was great, a really nice aesthetic and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into it. Su was really welcoming and friendly. There was a nice and simple breakfast and I had some toast and fruit. There was also an option for a cooked breakfast. There weren’t many people staying so Su sorted a room to myself which was great. Wi-Fi was great and also plenty of plugs for charging in the rooms.
Rooms were well heated and I didn’t get cold in the night when it was baltic outside. Lots of local bars and restaurants to choose from in the area. Would definitely stay again and maybe see a bit more of the town/beach in the summer.
The only issue I had was there’s a bar just across the road so it was a bit noisy with the single glazed windows. But not the hostels fault of course. It was a Saturday night also. Just a tip to bring earplugs if you’re visiting on the weekend!

The whole place was really nice. Loved the breakfast and the fact it was open before the marathon x
Not really usex to sharing but they were all great. Except somone pinched my towel which was special to me. My faithful running towel from Hardalot 10k in France x

Absolutely great location, and for the value we paid a good return on the investment. Great breakfast too.
You could hear some noise from the other rooms, so that was a bit bad.

Though we checked in at 2 am, we received a warm welcome. The staff was very friendly. We stayed in the family room, all 5 members.
Perfect for the families.

Really accommodating of our last minute booking and arrival time. Really nice vibe, warm, friendly, I would thoroughly recommend. Good breakfast selection and ideally placed for cycling as right next to a quiet cycle route along the coast.

Friendly host. Enough space for the family to relax in the family room.
A bit noisy with other guests on the final night.

Could do with a shelf in the shower room.

Nice castle very near. The room was very spacious, prepared for families with children, and kinda comfy for a family vacation. The owner let us in in the middle of the night. Much appreciated.
Breakfast does not exist. There's an Empty basement only with some kitchen and tools, you can make breakfast with your own food when you bring it. Do not count for breakfast, just buy it somewhere in the bar around.

The owner was a pleasant friendly guy and welcoming.
when I booked this I didn’t realise it was a hostel, and thought it was just a small b&b above a cafe.
I didn’t realise it had shared bathrooms and bedrooms with bunk beds (my fault for not reading it all through properly)
so obviously my gf wasn’t too happy when we turned up. However the owner was very welcoming and asked her what she wanted for breakfast and also gave us towels and let us have the top floor room all to ourselves which made our stay more comfortable, thank you.
The beds were clean and comfortable,
The breaskfast was toast and cereal which we expected but there was a wide variety, juices and hot drinks and clean & tidy.

All fine and good breakfast.
Lack of overall cleanliness. Beds didn’t feel they had been changed and just overall feeling of dirt and grubbiness. Linen - sheets and pillowcases- not changed? All smelt of someone having slept in them. Carpet not that clean along with shower.

Bed was comfy
Tiny room. Smelly toilet. Noisy neighbourhood made sleep difficult. One of reading lights didn't work. Very noisy with pub next door until early hours; would have been loud with window closed.
Was asked to pay when checked in, needed a call to confirm I'd paid.
Breakfast didn’t start until after we needed to leave.
