Great host and lovely value for money we just did a one night stay

A beautiful clean villa, comfy bed and an incredibly friendly owner, who provided me and my partner with useful recommendations. Would definitely stay again if we visit Chersonissos. The pool is very clean, everything was incredibly clean, room service every day, close to the sandy beach with clear water, great restaurants around (I recommend Zorbas).

The pool is great, the room is comfortable. The manager helped us when needed! The cleaning lady come every morning and was really helpful.

Unfortunately the bar was not working. We got bitten by ants during the nights.

The apparatment is well equipped,clean and comfortable, with a view to the sea.The pool is lovely and also with amazing view. There are bicycles in the complex to explore the further beaches also a nice Bulgarian path to trekk nearby. The location is easy access with public transport as well as walking distance to the nearby touristic towns

There was nothing I didn't like.

WE LOVED everything of OUR STAY IN OKKIROI VILLAS ! Especially the sunrise 🌅 watched by our balcony. the staff is amazing, so kind ! We had great time, the apartment was huge and a great deal. The location is near restaurants and shops. We really had great time in Crete thanks also to our stay. Thank you so much to all the Okkiroi staff members ! Your kindness is special. SUGGESTED !!!

Andreas the manager was very kind and helpful. we felt really looked after. the pool is beautiful. very good value staying here. close to airport bus stop. 100m, only cost 3.10 euro 1 way.

More equipment in the kitchen

The location is perfect, is close to the best beaches and and attraction centers in the area. The host is amazingly gentle and care about their guests until the last detail. The swimming pool is just fantastic and the bed, oh my god!!, the very best bed I experienced in all my years of travelling. If I'll return some day to Crete for sure I'll book in this accommodation. Thanks to Dimitris (the very best host ever!!), he prepared a barbecue party by the pool the last day of our stay and treated us like kings, sharing with us the Greek traditions around a table full of fantastic food, astonishing drinks; a remarkable experience of flavors and friendship.

The host (Dimi) is a very hospitable person. He feasted us with drinks and beverages and helped with a couple of our requests (like later check out, help with taxi transfer), proposed car assistance when we were needed to get drugs from the pharmacy and entertained us with jokes and talks. Overall we were happy to meet him and he set a high bar for any future host :)

The hotel was very nice, looked exactly like the pictures which was a good start! Location is not bad, being on the road which runs between Hersonissos and Stalida/Malia. It is set slightly back from the road, next to a car rental place and opposite a Supermarket and a couple of good local Tavernas (Gorgona and Zorba's). It is a main through route for all traffic so it can be busy at times, so this is not a place suitable for someone that wants a very peaceful and tranquil environment in which to relax! But on the upside, if you choose to rent a car when you are staying here, you can easily get from the hotel to the main roads, making trips to other distant parts of the island a possibility. There is a swimming pool and parking for cars, our apartment was a 1 bedroom unit with bathroom (but only a shower cubicle, no bath), kitchen/diner and a balcony. There is a large ceiling fan in the kitchen/diner and an air-con unit in the bedroom, which is very efficient and a welcome relief on the warm Cretan evenings. The bed and bedding is of a very good standard, a very comfortable and easily King Size double mattress. There is a refrigerator, a cooker and some rudimentary pans/implements/crockery/cutlery so it is possible to cook food to an acceptable standard. Mugs and glasses too, so drinks are covered and there was washing up liquid and a sponge supplied which was helpful! The hotel manager Demetri was exceptional in his approach, offering to assist us with grocery shopping and advice on where to go to see the best of the island, he was even kind enough to share with us some of his own food, wine and Raki!! So he went the extra mile to ensure we felt like we were staying with a friend rather than just a manager, nothing was too much trouble for him.

There was no direct beach access from the hotel, which was a real shame. The local beach (Drapano) has apparently been annexed by a new local luxury hotel and they have insisted that only their guests should have access to it! Our manager has advised me that this problem has been referred to the local council, so the matter of whether this beach will be available for the guests of this hotel has yet to be determined. There are other nice beaches within a short walk or drive, if you are a couple or solo traveller this won't be much of a problem but as we travelled with our 19m old son, a car was required for us to be able to make the best of our trip. One thing I did not like about the apartment was that we had a lot of problems with ants, they kept appearing in droves trying to carry off any dropped crumbs, seemingly within seconds of anything going on the floor. Demetri did come in a couple of times to treat areas to try and prevent their ingress, but it was ultimately futile. In order to help out guests who want to store foodstuffs during their stay, it might be an idea for the hotel to invest in reusable containers which would stop the ants being able to get into boxes. They even managed to get into an apparently sealed bag of crisps!!

The whole stay was great. The host Dimitri was very friendly and he greeted us on arrival. He was always open and willing to help, offering change of towels of cleaning if necessary. The pool was very nice and clean. My 3 year old daughter enjoyed the small pool as well. The location if also great, just a while of driving away from the center of Hersonissos. If you are looking for a party, Malia is just 5km away. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. All the windows and balcony door equipped with a mosquito net. The kitchenette was well equipped.

We were not so happy about having ants in an apartment. The host sprayed the apartment with some antiinsect product but still they were coming back. They were difficult to get rid of and they entered even my bed. But we are aware that this is a problem not only in this apartment. Some shelves in a bathroom would be useful to put our cosmetics. In the evening/night youmay hear some noise from the main street, especially if the window is open.
