Partner had a great dive with the sharks
Transfer over in very rough seas in small and old boat was perilous. The boat is not fit for purpose and should be replaced immediately. The mandatory meal plan promised gourmet food which it wasn't. There were three groups of American divers 40 in all who were accomodated in the dining room whilst the three remaining couples were seated in a busy walk way and regularly visited by island dogs

This is a beautiful and well-run resort on a great spot of the island. There is a lot of attention to detail and the food was especially delicious. Staff and housekeeping were super friendly, efficient and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here and would always come again given the opportunity:)
A few minor aspects of criticism. Despite this resort being wonderful it is a little overpriced (700AUD per night all inclusive).
Also it pretty much exclusively caters
To divers, which we are not. We stayed in dive resorts all over the world and normally they make it easy for us snorkellers to hitch a ride with the divers to sites that suit both. This wasn’t the case here. The house reef was good - we seen better and worse. But would have been nice if they offered daily snorkelling trips or offered us to go out with the dive boats should the dive sites be ok for surface snorkeling.
And lastly if you can, avoid the 2 bedroom suites on the ground floor (Bure 13 and 14). They are part of a 2-storey house with someone staying on top of you. The walls, floorboards and ceiling are paper thin and you hear every footstep and conversation from the upstairs suite if you stay downstairs.

The staff were fabulous and very welcoming treating you like family. They made the stay amazing.
The shower pressure was almost non-existent. Bathroom shower ceiling had molds and overall the villas had musty smell.

The room is large and comfortable, safe and quiet. The garden landscape is gorgeous. There are birds and frogs; you can feel their protection of the environment, get close to nature, and relax. The meals are delicious, and choosing tomorrow's meals in advance every day does not waste food, but you can always eat what you want - which is very good. The massage is also fantastic :D Although on the island, at least two free activities are arranged daily, the activities are different daily. In addition, there are also paid activities. There is also a shop inside the resort, so you won't be bored after a few days. Most people will participate in scuba diving, which is one of their specialties, especially the shark feeding dive, which is impressive. Definitely, it is worth spending a few days here. However, you have to plan ahead, their dives are every day, but the world-level shark feeding is only Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Resort accommodation and spending are not cheap, but you can feel your money is worth it. The events at the resort always surprise us; we are treated to fresh coconut water and a free ten-minute foot massage. I hope to return and stay more days - 2 nights are too short!
The room was excellent, the best I've stayed in Fiji. It's a pity that the room's design cannot be ventilated, meaning the air conditioner must be turned on at night. It would be great if the room could be ventilated, just like houses in Fiji, for the reason of eco-friendly.
I also think the free drinking water in the resort can be improved; my stomach seems sensitive to the drinking water.

It was very good and nice but breakfast should be free as it is in most hotels globally.
Every room should have a phone to call the reception.

Family fun resort, very friendly staff and always happy to help. Glorious location - right on the beach with excellent scuba diving!

The Fijian staff we nice and helpful. The shark dive is the highlight, although the rest of the diving was far below the standard of Kadavu, Taveuni and Savusavu.
The overseas company that owns the resort need to spend some money getting things working. No proper air conditioning working, water issues in the bathroom, generator failures, boat break downs. Not to mention running out of supplies and food, despite taking a boat to the mainland everyday. The diving should have been better, but no interest in taking us further than the closest sites inside the lagoon. While we understand that COVID has been hard on everyone, the resort has been fully booked for 2 months yet they don’t seem to care that things don’t work properly, and none of our concerns were addressed even though we did ask.

We had a lovely 5 nights at the resort. The Fijian staff are fantastic and worked hard under difficult conditions with the pandemic to give us a great experience.
The positives:
The resort staff who are all local to the island we’re wonderfull, especially Filo the manager who had to reorganise plans and deliver bad news all of the time due to the pandemic. She was fantastic!
The food was also fantastic, a choice of three options for lunch and dinner each day, all fresh local produce.
The extra activities including the fire walking show, cooking class, warrior dance and secret island trip were great.
The negatives:
Not many.. but the diving was difficult to plan and book as so many people were diving on the resort. People were paying the dive staff extra to get a place on the dive boats. Our shark dive was massively oversubscribed and safety could have been compromised. We were late to the site and we only ended up with a one very short shark dive, still it was amazing and worth it. I put some of these issues down to the time of year (Xmas and new year)and the weather conditions. The dive shop doesn’t have computers so bring your own.
Overall Beqa resort is a very special place, the people and diving are world class and I would return like many have to this wonderfull place. Just don’t expect everything will go to plan and be patient and understanding with the staff.
Difficulty booking dives
Expensive PCR test $300 Fijian

Away from hustle and bustle with a coral reef 50m off beach. Our divers had a brilliant dive with the sharks. The staff are absolutely wonderful and it felt like staying with friends, we knew all their names after a couple of days.
Bar was out of a lot of ingredients for cocktails and some beers. Poor bar staff were quite embarrassed to keep saying they couldn’t make the drink you were asking for. Seeing as a boat goes over to main island every day this should be an easy fix...
