Gelegen in een prachtige rustige omgeving, met een indrukwekkend zicht op het uniek gelegen klooster. De moeite!

Er was een restaurant/terras, wat op zich wel handig was, maar het eten was nu niet meteen fantastisch te noemen.

Hotel is in a beautiful setting with a nice view over the monastery. You have to order breakfast the day before and it is okay, but why the coffee has to be in a cardboard cup is a mystery to me. Staff is friendly and mattresses are good. Unfortunately this was all.

I don't quite understand all the praise. Not that the hotel is bad, but apart from the location it is not special at all. We arrived around 5 p.m. and immediately had to pass on what we wanted to eat and we had to do that before 6 p.m. because the restaurant was closed after that. Food tasted fine although already quite cold. As a result, we were already in our room at 6.30 pm. Sitting outside at the restaurant was also possible, but it was closed so ordering drinks was impossible except for coffee from the machine. Otherwise, the room was very basic; 2 beds, table and 1 chair and a cupboard. Suitcase had to be on the floor. It was also very disturbing that the room was very light. In the night too much light from the exit sign and as soon as it became light outside, the room was also lit thanks to the 4 large windows with slats, but they let almost all the light through. All in all a disappointing stay. Now there weren't many guests so on the one hand I understand that you can't keep a restaurant open for that, but come up with something else!

A very special place. We loved the (slightly surreal) wonderful combination of being in a lofty Orthodox monastery, but hearing stylish soft jazz in the eating area during the day. The people who work here are super. The coffee we had easily matched our exacting Sydney standards. Good food is available in the Monastery, and if you are staying longer/able, do yourself a favour and visit the restaurant further up the mountain - the food there is off the hook, and views over the mountains to match. A very special stay. Thank you.
