My travel buddy and I stayed here for 3 nights in September. It fit our needs well, we didnt spend much time inside but it did have all the necessary amenities we needed. It was cute and cozy, and very clean. The location is tucked away somewhat, so it was nice and quiet. Everything is one level which means no stairs to worry about. It was easy to get to the mall and museums or a restaurant by walking. Overall it was everything we needed. The biggest positive was communication from our host. This was only our second time using VRBO and we had trouble understanding how to access the property but she very quickly, and clearly, responded. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

So. A the place was clean and had things nicely in side. B it was missing an alarm clock or any clock - usually found in. Hotel etc C the key situation is a bit odd (it does need to be changed and D. I tried to get an answer from owner prior to trip but as best I know never got a reply

The carriage house was comfortable, convenient to the National Mall and just a short walk to a Metro station, which made it easy to get everywhere. Quiet neighborhood with tree lined streets. Loved it.

This carriage house was lovely for me, my husband and my two teen girls. The secret garden was a delightful place to play some board games and eat meals between events. Within a 15 minute walk there are dozens of restaurants, metro stop, groceries, capitol building, Supreme Court, postal museum (fabulous!), library of Congress (amazing) and beginning of the Mall. The unit was stocked with everything we could want and while the kitchen was small (as befitting the space) it was fully equipped. Others mentioned confusion on checking in—when we read the check in instructions, they sounded confusing, but when we arrived and followed the directions, it all made complete sense and we even met the owner who was reading on the front porch with her sweet tea. If we return to DC, we’ll definitely book here again.

The property is easy to find, includes one parking spot and is located in a perfect DC neighborhood close to the Metro, but most must see locations are easily walkable. The bed is comfortable, there are charming and thoughtful touches all around, plenty of storage and seating, and there are several small stores and restaurants nearby - Union Station is just a short walk. What a great location and lively property. I would stay here again!

What a perfect spot to experience living on the Hill, easy walk to Union Station, Eastern Market, and so many of our Nation’s landmarks. The carriage house had everything you needed, fully equipped, just bring your toothbrush! The bed was comfortable and the kids enjoyed the daybed/trundle. An enchanting courtyard for coffee. Loved everything about it! Off the street parking and a hop, skip and a jump to The Corner Market for groceries. We would/will definitely stay here again!

And best of all, a dedicated parking space. This space is in exactly the right place, 2 blocks behind the library of congress and a couple of blocks from the free bus routes. We did not move the car the whole time. The space in very small, but private and comfortable. We had a great time.

The location of this property is perfect. The check in experience was a bit confusing. I never received any instructions for check in. When we arrived there were linens on the floor from the previous people and it wasn’t the cleanest. Very nice property and has potential to be amazing. Really loved the off street parking and the short distance to everything.

This carriage house is quaint, cozy and in a great location. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Lovely historic home in a beautiful safe neighborhood. Easy walk to the Capitol and National Mall.

The carriage house was perfect for us for a long weekend Very comfortable beds, excellent location and very clean and comfortable. Our host had lots of recommendations and was able to accommodate our late arrival and departure. We will definitely stay here again!

We had a great visit to Washington DC! This property could not have been in a better location for sight-seeing and catching a bus at Union Station. We drove to DC so the designated off-street parking spot was a real plus. Other properties in this area offered free on-street parking permits but based on our walks through the neighborhood there were very few, if any, unoccupied parking spots. We had a few non-critical plumbing issues late in our stay and Hilary quickly responded as a plumber was on site the morning of our departure. Yes, the building is older (1875?!) and the living room furniture is dated, but if you are looking for an ideal location for sight-seeing, an air conditioned property, a comfortable bed, and an off-street spot to park your car, I believe this will be a great choice for you. After traveling 4.5 hours by car with our 2 and 3 year old toddlers, and looking forward to what we were expecting to be a great rental unit for the weekend, we arrived to a unit with a door lock that took nearly 15 minutes to unlock (and another 10 to relock), and a unit that was a total and complete mess as it had not been cleaned (we arrive 1.5 hours after check-in). On our sixth attempt, we finally got in touch with the property owner/manager who did get the cleaning crew there. That said, the cleaning crew was done in an hour, and the place did not feel truly clean, but more just "wiped down" and organized. Unfortunately, the photos do not properly illustrate the current state of the property as they were likely taken the day the property was initially made available for rental. The corner wall in the bedroom has been spackled but not repainted (and marks still remain), the two armchairs in the living area have stains, the mount for the kitchen sink faucet was broken, the freezer was covered in ice, and the lock to the main door of the unit is frankly a hazard as it's difficult to lock/unlock. Overall, we were disappointed with the fact that the photos in the ad are not representative of the actual apartment itself, and although we could get over the fact that a scheduling incident led to the apartment not being prepared upon arrival, we would not stay here again as the place lacks basic maintenance and upkeep. Hopefully the property manager improves upon this as the location is superb, the actual check-in process is seamless, and the off-street parking that is included with the rental is exceptional.

We stayed in the Carriage House of a large Mansion on Captial Hill. The kitchen/living room was perfect for keeping snacks, breakfast, and lunch goods. We tended to dine out for dinner. The bed was comfortable and roomy and having a place to step outside in private (a private courtyard) was also lovely. We felt secure locking our bikes outside the carriage house (which also had a locked gate. Parking available right beside the residence was a blessing, as parking is expensive and hard to find in D.C. We biked to everything: the monuments, museums, on bike paths along the Potomac, to DuPont Circle to shop. Bikes are available to rent everywhere (as are scooters) but we loved having our own. The location was great for both our activities in DC and visiting our daughter in Northern VA and friends and relatives in MD. While we had the security of the owner right next door for anything we might have needed, we had privacy and security. Recommend highly. Planto book again.

Good location and safe neighborhood

Walking distance to the Capitol and it was very nice to have a parking space. The only problems were that the door doesn't stay closed unless it is locked with the key (even on the inside which seems like a fire hazard), and we had to deal with several mosquitoes inside each night.

Stayed 4 night and no problems. Shower was big, bed very comfy. Private entrance and very quiet. Nice full kitchen.

Visited DC with our two grandchildren, 8 and 10 years old. This was their first visit. We could not have been more pleased with our accommodations. Thank you!
