Although it is set back behind the main (owner) house there is still a good view of the lake. The house is cozy but well maintained. Plenty of kayaks etc. and chairs down at the beach. We had a great time there. Also it is very close to Boltons Landing and the Algonquin Restaurant.....
4.8
The place is little secluded from restaurants and activities but still a great quiet getaway. Lots of amenities that have been added to better the place like the kayaks and paddle boards.

This is our third stay at this little gem of a property, and it did not disappoint! My sons are already talking about going back 😊

My girlfriend and I stayed at this property for 5 nights in mid October to enjoy the autumn foliage and it was absolutely beautiful. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. This place is truly cozy ! It is on the property of the owner’s house, however we felt very private and it was nice to be greeted by their 2 friendly labradors. Being situated on trout lake was amazing as we could sit and enjoy the fire pit by the water or utilize any of the available watercraft. If you’re ever looking for a cozy and quiet Adirondack getaway with your loved one definitely consider this place.

My husband and I rented this small cabin on recommendation from our daughter. She was right! Clean, cozy, dock, all needed amenities were available. Beautiful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the town which was only a short drive away. Our host was very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I are just home after a wonderful week on Trout Lake. The owners always seem to think of what would make the experience that much better. We really appreciated the addition of the AC since it was in the 90's and didn't even mind the thunderstorms! We're already looking forward to a 3rd annual trip.in 2024.

This was our 3rd stay here and most certainly wont be our last. The addition of the washer and dryer was a more than pleasant surprise as was the air conditioner which fortunately for us went unused. Great weather, comfortable cabin (guest house), nearby hiking trails, fun stores 5 minutes away and kisses from Flynn the Lab....what could be better.
4.8
This is my second time at this lake house. The home is clean and quiet and just what I needed for a week away. The new washer/dryer and AC are welcome additions. For me, the beauty of this place is mostly location. It is a short walk down a path to a private beach and dock on Trout Lake. There are kayaks, paddleboards, floats, and rowboats to use. The lake is clear and calm. There is ample hiking close by and it is a short drive to the town of Bolton Landing. Visits from the family dogs - Flynn and Fancy - were always welcome.

This property was very small and very tight. It was clean and neat. However, by the second day, all we could smell was mold and mildew in the cottage. We actually left early. Additionally, the path to the lake has a significant climb down. You have to be in quite good health to be able to get to the beach. Very disappointed.

Trout Lake is a beautiful lake to swim and kayak in. The swim platform was wonderful and the sandy shore made it easy to wade into the clear water.
The cabin sits behind the owner's house and there are views of the lake from the front porch. The cabin is cozy and has a consistent Adirondack theme. The week we were there it was hot/humid and the A/C in the living room was not effective. The fans in each room helped a lot. We had some intense rain/thunderstorms and saw a lot of ants in the house. This may be because of the storm. We enjoyed our time at Trout Lake. It's minutes away from Bolton Landing (where there are many good restaurants and shopping) and we had a great time boating on Lake George.

After reading this lakeside cottage listing, it did not disappoint.
My "better half" is in Norway on family business...so, I decided to throw the dog in the car and drive up to the Adirondacks for a few days. It's been many years since I was in the Lake George region.
The host kindly agreed to my dog as co-guest...(the host's summer policy is no dogs during July / August)...me and my dog, Oscar, (Hav/ Malt big bully mix) quickly made friends with the host's two Labs...copious treats on the cottage deck helped.
The cottage is IMMACULATE...(I've stayed in many "quaint" cottages around the world... that "ain't" quaint....! )
The host has equipped this cottage with every conceivable amenity...both in the cottage and on the lakeside.
The cottage is beautifully refinished and the smell of knotted pine lingers throughout. There's nothing musty / fusty / dusty about this place.
This cottage has more kitchen utensils than Julia Childs on a bad day (when not in prison :) )...including a pizza slicer...!...
There are "toys" on the beach that will keep any aspiring triathlete in shape...and the firepit is a welcome nightstop.
I intend to invite my "Viking" up to the cottage, space / time permitting, before the season ends.
There are cute twists to this place...look for the two raccoons above one of the bedroom door frames...and my stand-in girlfriend, nailed to a tree...(Pocahontas serving drinks)...I hope the Woke crowd isn't reading this :)...lol

Meticulously maintained cabin. Just off the lake but there is an excellent waterfront area for guests. Hope you like dogs because there are two Labs who will want to make friends. 5 stars.

This is truly a special place to stay. Proximity to the lake is perfect. The guest house is private yet easily accessible. This is a great place for either 1 or 2 couples who love the lake life. It's super convenient to get into Bolton and Lake George, and yet you feeling like you're in your own private oasis.

Second time staying here. So peaceful...quiet and relaxing.

This was our second time coming here and it was just as great as before. The cabin is cozy and has a nice view of Trout Lake. We love the access to the lake and the canoe. Our dog had fun with Flynn, the resident lab. The owners are always very friendly. We Love this place.

It was perfect ☺️Fit all our needs

We stayed here last year & again this year; it’s a wonderful cabin right on Trout Lake & only 20 minutes from the Village of Lake George. We took our dog both times & she enjoyed it as well! Hiking nearby, kayaking & canoeing on the lake & so much more. The hosts are easy to communicate with & extremely helpful. Overall, a perfect place to getaway!

We reserved over a year ago to be sure we had a sweet spot for our anniversary. I grew up spending every spare weekend north of Bolton Landing so I could not wait to get back to the area!
We did not bring the best weather so we did not get to spend as much time on the waterfront as we wanted. But, the cabin was a perfect home base for our hike, visit to friends and my favorite childhood restaurant for chowder!
The cabin is adorably appointed and the fall decorations are sweet!
This is a clean, comfortable spot with a beautiful view from the deck and a great trail to the lake.
We wish we could have taken advantage of the water, boats and raft - next time!
This property is a 🏆

Everything was very simple and no complications whatsoever place was very clean and we had a very nice time would definitely stay again

Great lake for water activities. It is also nice that boats are limited to 50hp which keeps the noise and wakes down.

We loved our stay in the cabin! The location was beautiful and easy to get to. Numerous hiking trails nearby and Lake George Village right down the road. The cabin had all the amenities you could ask for, the beds were comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. Loved the paddle boat - being out on the lake was so peaceful!

My husband and I just returned from a glorious week on Trout Lake. The guesthouse has all the comforts of home...and then some! It has a lovely Adirondack decor, a gorgeous view, many places to relax and read, along with water toys, lounge chairs and a firepit on the beach...something for everyone. I can't say enough about it and we've already reserved a week in 2023.

We can’t say enough about this rental. The owners were lovely and the property was perfect. Such a wonderful week of relaxing and playing on the lake. First time in the Lake George area and we were so happy w our choice to stay a little more remote and have our own beach. We’ll definitely be back. Such wonderful memories. Thank you for such a great week.

The cottage was cute, clean, and well appointed. It had everything you need for a week at the lake - everything to cook with, gas grill, comfortable beds, tvs for rainy days, etc. Our boys loved all of the kayaks, paddleboards, floats and other water activities. It was only about 10 minutes or so to Lake George village and Bolton Landing, both nice, and fun in different ways. The only thing I would note is that the coin laundry is not on premises. Otherwise, a great getaway!

My daughter and I had a wonderful week on Trout Lake. This was her final break before heading out to college. The cabin was neat and well stocked. We ate out on the deck every night and made ample use of the gas grill. We wound up spending almost all of our time outdoors. A short walk leads you to a private sand beach and dock right on the prettiest lake. Having the kayaks and beach gear at hand was a huge plus. We kayaked every day and swam out to the floating dock. The sunsets over the lake were amazing. The cabin is close to great hiking, and Bolton Landing, and Lake George Village. Any questions I had were answered promptly. All in all, we had an excellent vacation here.

Cabin was great! Very relaxing. Location to the lake was perfect for us. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Another Amazing Week
This is our second year in a row renting the Lake Trout cottage from Ron. What can we say but another amazing year. The cottage is always clean and welcoming - there were some new additions this year and new furniture. The lake shed is always stocked with great toys for our little guy and the kayaks always a big hit.
We enjoyed a week of fun and sun on the lake. Our little guy loved playing with Ron's dogs and a neighbor dog who happily swam and played with our little one for an afternoon. The highlight of our little guys trip for sure.
The location is great - a few mins in to Bolton Landing and about 10 mins into Lake George Village. What more can you ask for - your own private beach and a quick trip to more action!
Thank you again Ron for an amazing week! We will be back!

Terrific place to stay if you want a quiet, relaxing vacation. The house was clean and well equipped. The use of the tandem kayak on pretty and quiet Trout Lake is a definite plus. Nearby trails and good restaurants is also a plus. This was our second stay and hope to have many more.

We had an enjoyable stay on Trout Lake. The cabin was cozy and cute and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. All of the amenities that were included made the stay special and packed full of fun for the whole family. We made good use of the kayaks, canoe and paddle boards. My husband caught a good amount of fish in the lake and my dog was kept busy chasing dragonflies. Bolton landing and lake George are a close 10 minute drive. Thanks for having us!

The property was so nice. Not too far from the lake and not too far from the downtown area and attractions. Being close to the owners house was the only thing that worried me as I didn’t want to disturb them with our barking dogs. Otherwise it was quiet and relaxing. Would recommend this property to anyone!

We just returned from our 2nd family trip to the Trout Lake cabin. We rented the property in May 2021 and loved it. Upon our return last week, we noticed the cabin had not been deep cleaned in quite a while (cobwebs/dead bugs in corners, dead bugs under furniture, beach needed a good raking). The main reason we returned to the cabin is that is has one of the best locations on the lake (great views, 8 minutes to Bolton Landing, 10-15 mins to LG village) and the beach is fully stocked. We only brought our beach towels and fishing gear - everything else is supplied in a shed on the beach, along with a variety of boats/paddleboards. We had awesome weather for late spring, and spent each day on the water. Our 6 year old fell in love with paddleboarding and now we’re on the hunt for one of our own :) We were expecting a drip coffee maker as noted in the description, but the house had a Keurig. There were a variety of pods in the kitchen, so it was no big deal. Overall, we had a wonderful visit and would most likely return again.

I only wish that it hadn't rained for two of the four days I was there! But it turned out that much of the area shuts down after Labor Day (restaurants are very hit-or-miss off season), so being hunkered down in the cottage was just fine after all.
It was blissfully quiet with a beautiful sunset view over Trout Lake, about five minutes from Lake George (the town of Lake George is a bit further down the road).
The bed was comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. I couldn't figure out how to work the Netflix TV to watch regular network TV shows (during those rainy days), so decided that reading was more relaxing anyway. Some instructions would be helpful on how to navigate through the Netflix prompts for those unfamiliar with the system. That's the only "issue" I had, but it was so unimportant at the time that I didn't bother asking about it.
Thanks, Ron, for an enjoyable stay at your cottage!
