We loved it. Close to the beach. If you want to be a tourist head to the Santa Monica pier, if you want to be a local head south to Venice. Great location and so much to do. Hosts were also great!

We finished our amazing California honeymoon in this wonderful spot in Santa Monica. Dayle was a welcoming host, communication was easy and the property perfect. Easy to get to the beach and all the restaurants and nightlife of SM and Venice Beach. Perfect little courtyard for a meal in when we needed a night in too!

It was just me and my 11 yo son. The home was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed for both inside the house and to take with us to the beach. I highly recommend this property.

We loved our week long stay at Dayle’s place. It was literally steps to the beautiful beach and the Ocean Front Walk. Many wonderful restaurants were within walking distance. We also enjoyed Universal, Hollywood, hiking and horseback riding, all just a short car ride away. The Carriage House felt like “coming home” every night. The place was comfy, cozy and full stocked with everything we needed…including boogie boards and beach chairs that we used daily. Chris and Dayle were so kind and nice. We hope to be back!

You can't beat the location - right at the beach and an easy walk to Santa Monica Pier. The main/ground floor has the bedroom and a bathroom, and then upstairs, there is a kitchen and living room area. There is also a private patio between the carriage house and the owner's house. Lots of great touches - snacks, extra toothbrushes, beach towels and boogie boards. It's clear the owner put a lot of thought into things.

This IS DEFINITELY the best beach location in Santa Monica. What a find!!
Our host Daryl was quick and great to communicate with and nothing was too much trouble.
The place was perfect for us. We were travelling with my son who is 25 and the setup suited us perfectly. It had absolutely everything you needed along with more personal touches such as coffee / snacks left for you to enjoy. It was extremely clean, light, airy and comfortable, but the best thing was the Location / location / Location.
Close to the beach / Pier and downtown Santa Monica it was absolutely perfect. I will certainly be recommending to all my friends and family.

If you’re looking for close to the beach, then this is it. Worked out great for my girlfriend, two boys and I. Everything you need is there, and basically the same price as the hotels. We would definitely go back!

We had an amazing stay at this great rental, it was a perfect location to explore the beach, a short walk to the Santa Monica farmers market and easy access to both the metro and for driving.
We appreciated the pantry to support meals at home and all of the great stuff for the beach. The hosts were easy to get a hold of and kept us well informed on all the parking rules and regulations.
Can’t wait to return and have already shared the link with friends.

The absolute best for a family looking for a beach location- they have everything your family needs from alllll the blankets and sheets and pillows, scooters for the kids, laundry, shower and kitchen essentials provided (HUGE help!), great communication and location, such a beautiful home and landscaping, the list goes on! You will be so pleased!

The location is amazing! Just a few houses from the beautiful beach. The house was perfect for us. Kids stayed upstairs, my husband and I were in downstairs bedroom. The kitchen had everything we needed. Laundry was a bonus.
We could walk to so many great places. The Santa Monica Pier was very close, but we were in a nearby quiet neighborhood. Venice beach was a bit further down - but still walkable and skate-able.
So close to both Getty museums. A short trip to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We had the best time.
Our amazing hosts helped us with parking and street cleaning information. They were the nicest!

This house is perfect for a small family. It is so close to the pier. The rental itself has everything you could possibly need. Very welcoming owners!! I would love to come back.

Great stay. Owner was great with communication. Everything you would ever need for the beach is provided. The only down side is the location was a bit noisy at night. The first night a couple (maybe neighbors) was heard yelling at each other all night. The second and remaining night you hear police sirens and ambulance. But then again I am a light sleeper. But overall great stay.

It’s moments from the beech which was fab and an easy walk to Santa Monica Pier (4 mins away). Free parking. Lovely host. Despite being in the mix it is a super quiet location. We were perhaps a little too cosy for 5 of us but that’s just us. Lovely welcome basket. I watched hummingbirds from the private patio (look up at the nectar feeder). Thank you Dayle.

We stayed at this location for my son’s 13th birthday and it was absolutely fantastic. Private, perfect location to everything we needed. Dale was an awesome host; leaving us lots of goodies and all essentials. We were able to put some groceries in the house and eat breakfast before starting our days. Parking was easy; we felt safe, and we enjoyed ourselves so so much. If we find ourselves in CA again- we would definitely look to stay here again. Everything was perfect and we felt so comfortable- it felt like home away from home. Thank you for the experience.

My recent stay at the Carriage House was my third. That's how much I enjoy staying here! The location, just steps from the beach and boardwalk and walking distance from the Santa Monica Pier, cannot be beat. Parking is free on the street or at a convenient and private residents parking lot a half block away. The rooms are large and the kitchen fully equipped. In addition, thoughtful touches such as umbrellas, shopping bags, bath products, fluffy towels, etc.are greatly appreciated. I look forward to returning!

This is a beautiful seaside beach cottage with good bones and good vibes. I love the decor. The home is very clean. It’s within walking distance of all eateries and shopping in Santa Monica and less than a block from the beach. The home is well appointed with everything you need. I got the best rest I have had in a long time. The hostess is glam, lovely, warm and cares and is concerned about your overall stay. I couldn’t have been happier. I will definitely return. This stay did not disappoint!

We loved our stay at Dayle’s carriage house. It was very clean, had a very well-equipped kitchen, well decorated, the bed was comfy, and had a lovely outdoor patio area with beautiful plants. It worked perfectly for our family vacation (2 adults and a 10 year old). The location was perfect, 1 block from the beach and a 5 minute walk to the Santa Monica pier. Dayle was prompt and great to communicate with, and even provided coffee, wine and snacks upon our arrival. The washer and dryer, board games, books, boogie boards and beach towels were helpful, too. Thank you for a lovely visit, Dayle. We look forward to returning in the future.

1 1/2 blocks from the beach… three blocks from action on Ocean Blvd? The location is prime.
But the space is curated in a way that makes you appreciate your visit, more than you might otherwise.
In my experience, most hotels in Santa Monica are modern or trying to be so.
This is a proper beach cottage!
The pictures are 100% accurate and the hostess (Dayle), was super attentive.
I’m booking my next trip now.

Property was excellent for us, 2 adults and 2 teens (15&13). Sofa bed and pull out single upstairs. We could walk everywhere we needed or Uber to anything a bit further out. Dayle was very helpful. Especially when I blew the power trying to use my UK hairdryer! Tips for first time brits- bring a voltage converter adapter!! (There is hairdryer available in the room-I just wanted mine as needed diffuser). Excellent stay would definitely recommend.

What a wonderful stay! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and snacks that we all devoured. Just a 5 minute walk to the Santa Monica Pier, shops, restaurants etc! We’d get up each morning and walk along the beach. Our kids (12, 10, and 7) would grab the two scooters and join us to walk and get coffee. So close to muscle beach and our kids loved challenging themselves on the slack lines. We have literally everything we could have needed- the owners provided beach towels (nice big ones!), a cooler, beach chairs, and nice boogie boards. We hope to stay again if we make our way back to Santa Monica someday and will recommend this place to anyone we know going.

The first thing you see and smell are the lovely flowers and honeysuckles surrounding the property. The sand was so close and all the beach items needed were provided. The house was gorgeous and updated. The kids took the upstairs and husband and I were down stairs. Definitely want to return. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

My family of four stayed over Memorial Day weekend. This house was the perfect spot for our Los Angeles vacation. I know others have mentioned it, but the beach is literally 2 minutes away. Wake up and drink your coffee on the beach then be in Downtown LA in 20 minutes. We were nervous about parking over the holiday weekend but we always had a spot reserved on the street or in the parking lot nearby. The house was spacious enough for my two teenage daughters to spread out and we enjoyed the bottle of wine and snacks that were there for us at check in. So much is nearby and walkable, I just wish we would have had 5 more days to explore and relax!

We enjoyed our stay in this cute cottage. Peaceful and lovely gardens, functional small kitchen and games and scooters for kids. The location is perfect for the beach and biking, plus central for exploring Santa Monica area. The hosts were there to greet us when we arrived and provided parking close to the cottage.
