Betty is magical! She is so sweet, a fantastic chef, a kind soul. She really went over and above to make our stay lovely. The entire staff was really sweet.
Besides wonderful Betty and staff, we loved the location. We aren’t into big city vibes with discotecas, shops, etc., and Hill House was exactly our speed. We had a view of the sea (which probably won’t be there anymore because there was construction on a two-story building in front of it) and the city from our balcony, and we could walk to the Observatorio, Machado Plaza (so much good food), the malecón…
The mosquitos were relentless so screens on the windows would be nice. Also, it took a long time so get hot water in the shower, which wasn’t really a huge deal because it was so hot in august.

Breakfast was good and Betty and Bruno were great.
Thank you Betty for the great sandwiches.
Water in the shower and the pool could use some renovations.

Betty made our stay extra special. She knew the area very well and was kind, respectful and always willing to answer any questions. It would not have been the same without her.
The property is in need of some TLC

Betty, Cynthia and Bruno were so welcoming and helpful! The view was gorgeous every day. The bed was really comfortable and it felt like we were the only guests there even though it was a full house.

The breakfast was fantastic , best scrambled eggs in a long time , Betty our hostess catered to everthing we could ask for, best hostess since we have been in mexico ,( 3 months), always smiling and happy to help, gate staff well, owner is lucky to have these people!!
Wifi needs upgrading, not very reliable and the tv signal wasen't good as well , and the neighbor next door doing his renovations( not mentioned of course) jackhammering the concrete!

Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Pacific. It was an easy walk to the center of Old Town, the Malecon and nearby restaurants. Beatrice was welcoming, very helpful and keeps the hotel running smoothly.

LOCATION! It has an AMAZING view of both the city and the ocean! Also it’s located walking distance from the malecón, La Marea, AND the observatorio. Breakfast was so delicious and eating on the patio with view of the ocean just made it better. Staff was welcoming and overall stay was accommodating.
I’m not sure if they do or don’t have hot water, but the shower never warmed up. However, we never asked since we didn’t mind. Maybe double check if it’s something you need. :)

Hill house was comfortable, and the staff (particularly the person who was in charge of cleaning / breakfast) were extremely nice. It was the nice staff that really made this place. It is, indeed, up a hill... but I found the walk to the historic downtown / malecon pleasant and not too far. The parking worked b/c it was just my car, but I think it would be a tight squeeze if the hotel was full and someone in every room had a car.
I was annoyed that - despite the fact that the place was empty - they showed me the worst room (a dank, dark room on ground level with no real light).... when I asked if I could change to a better room they showed me to one of the ones on the upper floor with an ocean view. If they had just OFFERED the room without me having to ask 'hey, we're empty tonight, why don't you take one of these nice rooms?"..... it would have left a better impression. The place was getting painted / repaired, so the pics weren't current - but hopefully when the work is done it will look as nice as the photos.

It was a small bed and breakfast with six rooms private balconies and a great swimming pool. The views from the private balconies and the breakfast area were amazing. The breakfast that was included was very good the staff was excellent. They were the nicest rooms and the best value for my money that I think I've ever had. I would highly recommend this place.
I can't think of anything that I didn't like about that place. It was clean and well-kept and they had two workers doing repairs keeping the place in top shape.

We enjoy the location, the view from the balcony and Betty. She makes the breakfast in the morning and takes care of the room. Simple accomodation, safe and clean. We have stayed here before so knew what to expect, 2/3 star but checks the right boxes for us. We walk alot and the hill is not a deterrent
Overall it is a good choice for short visits to Mazatlan.
Our reservation was messed up to start but it was quickly resolved. It is a bit noisy at times but that is Mexico. There was construction next door so the noise was more than usual, we tend to be out thru the day so not a bother.

could use a handyman touch - night security tried his best to keep up the grooming of the property

Breakfast was plentiful and nourishing, could have been a little more varied in appearance perhaps. View from breakfast table was absolutely beautiful. Staff very accommodating.

The location was awesome after being in the Golden Zone for a week we loved being close to Centro & the views were beautiful.
We love to walk & it’s a quick walk to the Malecon. It’s also easy to get to Machado Square where we visited the cathedral, shopped, went to the opera & enjoyed delicious food.
We walked to Faro de Mazalan & hiked it one morning & only got a pulmonia for part of the way home.
It was easy to have Uber Eats deliver!
We felt safe with the remote control garage door.
Full breakfast included & delicious to start the day.
We stayed in the King room on top floor & the space was great & an authentic taste of the Mexican culture.
The best part was the staff - all 3 were SO very helpful, easy to communicate with & so accommodating. Helped us book a taxi, find out info needed and genuinely seemed to care.
Housekeeping was superb!
It’s mostly quiet except sometimes you hear music & ppl riding up to see loon outs, tours, etc.
some of the bathrooms have been updated or partly updated and we had plenty of hot water.
Shabby chic - but we liked it. Pool needs some TLC & maybe some more lounge chairs but we only used it once & it was refreshing.
Breakfast was good but pretty much same thing each day. (Loved the fresh fruit!)
Plumbing is somewhat of an issue as you are not suppose to flush ANY paper down the toilet.
Canned drinks are not cold & no ice — but they did bring my husband a cup full of ice one evening & that was cool!

we needed a place to stay other than Isla de la Piedra during hurricane Pamela. The lights went out the security guard knocked on our door introduced himself asked if we needed candles , told us he would be down stairs if we needed anything. We had poor internet due to power failure, no water at times due to no power to pump the water up to the Tanacio. All explained to us. Betty came in Wed morning to make us breakfast and real coffee. Would recommend Hill House to friends and family
Hot water in the shower would have been nice, our mini fridge wasn't working after the hurricane maybe a power surge cause it to stop working.
