Had a blast boat dock was nice would stay again

This property has a nice view of the lake as well as a large upstairs living room that has an outdoor deck. My family and I absolutely enjoyed our stay! The owner was very communicative and helpful! Rules and instructions are easy to follow.

This property is perfect for anyone who enjoys fishing. The view from the deck over the lake toward the mountains is beautiful.

We had a nice time!! We played pool and ping pong with the kids! We cooked together as a family and the men in our family loved to go fishing on the dock out there they caught 7 huge catfish and came when we came home we had a fish fry!!! Best Father’s Day getaway!!!

1. Futon bed was broken couldn’t use it. 2. Dog hairs all over house and bed. Futon bed had lots of dog hairs. Blankets, sheets and billows had dog hairs in all three rooms. Dog treats was left on bed floor. Upstairs floor was not mopped and had dust and dog hair.

We had an awesome time and the house was clean and nice! The owners were easy to communicate with and they even put a mooring ball in for our boat as the water level was low near the dock. They have awesome neighbors as well! The owners advertise everything just as it is and that was appreciated!!

Only main issue is the parking. If you have boat and trailers or multiple vehicles is kind of a pain as trailers must be removed and the parking is really tight. Everything else was cool.

Best time Ever. My 85y/o Mother and my 79y/o aunt were over the moon with the views. Neighbors on both sides were very friendly. Excellent Easter Vacation!!

Where to start? The home was clean upon arrival. We were all relaxed once we got there. There was room for my whole family to be together for the holiday without feeling cramped or uncomfortable. Amenities provided by the property owners was accessible. I only called for one thing and that was to figure out how to turn off the thermostat upon check-out. My family and I were so pleased with our stay and if they’ll have us, we’ll definitely book again. Thank you Neil and Nancy!

We had a great time at the house and the pool was great way to cool off. We would come again. Thank you to the host for a great place to stay and enjoy a mini vacation.

My family stayed here for 3 weeks. It was my spouse and I, our 5 year old, and a 5 month old. At different times we had family stay with us that were another couple and 2 other kids of the same ages. Reading the reviews it looks like previous guests had a hard time with the state of the lake. We are in a severe drought, and so the lake is shorter by a hundred feet or so (!!!) which tells you more about California than about the property. It’s a bummer we didn’t get a full lake but we expected that going in. The pool was great in giving us an alternative swimming option and the kids had a blast. It is that time of year when there is algae on the lake, and there is a smell. During our stay, it was fleeting and brief. Easy enough for the 1 or 2 times to hang out inside for 30 minutes until it cleared. But that’s lake life. The host was very communicative and there were no surprises. There are tenants in the front of the property but you really never see them. The few times we met them they were friendly. Same with the neighbors to the left. The property has a reverse floor plan (rooms downstairs) and so that did take some managing to keep the older kids from waking the napping babies by dropping toys. The sunsets were amazing! The first two weeks we had clear moonless skies for great sunsets behind the mountains and a great star view. The third week was peak fire season and the air did get smoggy. All in all, this was a great stay for us. The things that weren’t perfect were all because of the weather: lake depth, occasional algae smell, fire season. The property itself more than made up for it given the circumstances. I’d recommend the property to friends, and the friends we had over loved late nights on the back deck with a bottle of local wine.

Let me start by saying, I took a lot of time to reflect on my review, as I do not like leaving negative reviews. Having said that, I don’t want another family coming away disillusioned and disappointed with their vacation. Pros: 1. Main areas of the house were clean and tidy. (Bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, and kitchen). As advertised. 2. Internet access and access to Netflix and Prime was much appreciated. We didn’t get to use the sound system outside, but that it’s a nice feature when spending time on the balcony. 3. My family really loved the pool table. 4. The above ground pool was clean. 5. Entry was easy with the keyless lock. Cons: 1. THE PUTRID SMELL from the lake hits you blocks away from the house, every time you open any door, and lingers inside the house. The lake for a long time has had a problem with the toxic algae called cyanobacteria, also referred to as blue-green algae, the drought has exasperated the problem and the heat didn’t help. Some areas of the lake are worse than others and that’s where the house is located. The owner/manager only mentioned it to me after I asked about a fishing license to fish from the pier 11 days before our arrival. The water or “sludge” (as my kids described it) level was shallow at the base of the pier, so you could not fish, jump off the pier, use the slide or even launch any inflatable thing off the pier. What is the point of renting a house on the lake with a pier if you cannot even use it? The current pictures posted for the rental are in my opinion false advertisement, or at the very least, dishonest. We spent most of our time exploring the northern part of the lake where the smell was not so bad, and we were able to kayak. We had to toss every article of clothing we used directly into the wash because the smell clung to our clothes like a bad nightmare. 2. The house has these beautiful windows with the view of the lake and distant mountains and sunset, unfortunately, we couldn’t close the blinds because they were broken. Not a big deal, but the sun beaming on you as you watch TV, not fun. 3. The listing states it the house has an above ground pool and a communal pool, there is not communal pool, another false advertisement. My youngest daughter enjoyed it because she was small enough, but my older kids did not enjoy it. This was the only “water” activity they had since we could not go in the lake. We felt the homeowner wasn’t completely honest with us , until after the cut off day for a full refund. They informed us the day before no refund was possible that the lake was extremely low and didn’t go to dock and the smell of the lake was horrendous. You get a house on the lake you wanna enjoy it. The algae was so bad we weren’t able to go in , couldn’t use a boat or fish. You couldn’t even put your feet in the water unless you wanted to walk through dead fish at the shore of the property. We told the owner we had two pregnate women with us with sensitive nose and her response was more less stay inside and keep windows and doors shut. The smell and algae wasn’t anything new to the area and wish we had been notified sooner so we could of reschedule. When we told Nancy our complaints she glossed right over them and said she notified us, however that was only after we couldn’t get a full refund. She then went on to say her husband went the next day or two and the water was clear. We actually had friends staying down the way, and it was in no way clear as she said. It still isn’t two weeks later. I felt it was their way of acting like we over reacted. But seriously, you couldn’t be outside much during the day as the smell was damn near the smell of an outhouse. I will say the place it’s self was lovely and worked well for our family. I felt the owners should of compensated us as they weren’t forthright. We would of loved to have made this our yearly vacation place but since the owners were more concerned with renting it out to make sure they get their money than making sure it was a nice stay for their renters. Seriously who wants to rent a lake house and you can’t use the lake? Just be honest. Bad code of renter ethics. The Begnal Family

The entire experience was fantastic! There were activities by the lake good fishing and comfortable accommodations. The kitchen was top notch and the bedrooms were very comfortable.

I was disappointed on my vacation at this property. It was not clear in the ad that the house has two other attached units that tenants live in. The water was so low that access was not possible to bring the boat to the dock. We rented this place for the lakefront access and to keep the boat in the water. We were not informed with the current situation. We had to load and unload the boat every day and I had to squeeze the boat and truck in a very tight area. The smell of the lake was overwhelming. The floors in the house were very dirty. The pool seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bottom of the pool was covered in green algae. The gardener showed up early in the morning and woke us up.

Property was great. We got early check in which was great. Had an email to confirm that info but the cleaning person wasn’t informed a was rude upon our arrival. The lack of communication between her and the property owner is not our problem... other then that, it was great.

We loved our stay here! Honestly the pictures do not do the house any justice. It was so much more than we had expected. The entire upstairs living room and kitchen has a huge slider and large window giving you a beautiful view of the lake. As well as beautiful sunsets from the back deck and dock. Having the above ground pool was great some people didn’t want to get into the lake so it was a great alternative option. The kitchen was very well stocked with any tools we needed as well as a small variety of spices for cooking. Lots of extra towels, blankets, and even extra pillows. We were a group of ten and all slept very comfortably. Super close to everything too, boat launch was only about 4 minutes away. The nearest gas station and grocery store is about 5 minutes as well. The owners were amazing and responded to my questions very quickly! Can’t wait to come back and stay again!!

This location made it easy for me and my friends to all stay at one location, we all enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone. Will more then likely be booking this place again in the future.

Love everything about this place! The huge patio where you can sit and watch the beautiful sunsets, love the light bright great room upstairs with all the windows with views, kitchen was well equipped, love that the bedrooms were downstairs! Very clean and homey and the apartment neighbors were kind and absolutely no bother! It had all the amenities you could possibly need! Owner was very friendly and quick to respond! We will be coming back!

We cleaned the house before we left, left it cleaner than it was when we checked in but owners where still not happy because of the quick turn around of the property. We left on time at 11 am and made sure property was very clean for quick turn around but it still wasn’t enough for owners. We never received check in or check out instructions like we would at other properties. The house location was great and we had a really great time there.

We had a wonderful stay. Will be back again

We had a great time, my family and my sister’s family (4 adults, 5 young kids total) were very comfortable. The setup is perfect with the communal space upstairs and all 3 bedrooms being downstairs. It was very clean and had an amazing view. The large deck provided great indoor/outdoor space. We would definitely stay here again. We LOVED having the private pier for fishing. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to dock our boat so we had to find alternative arrangements for storing the boat for the weekend.

The communication with the hosts was great. Slight glitch when we got there as the unit was not totally cleaned yet because of a miscommunication, not a big problem. The view was amazing and the accommodations were fine. It was a good trip!

Renting the property was easy. I had a few questions so I contacted the manager and she was very knowledgeable and prompt getting back to me. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to get away. Lots of space and all the comforts of home.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at this lake house. We fished every day and had dinner watching the sunset. Although we didn’t catch any fish, we still had a great time. The water was a bit shallow at the pier. The owner was really responsive and the neighbor was nice. Definitely would stay again.

Great location on Clear Lake with beautiful views and large deck to enjoy them from. We stayed in March 2021 and it appeared that the floors were new and other parts/rooms had been recently updated. The sound system was awesome on the deck too! Very clean and nice overall.

This lake front house provides a great venue for a nice getaway to relax, fish, and enjoy Lake County. The owners are very nice and great communicators. I recommend this house for anyone who is looking for a lake front escape.

The house has almost everything. We are seasoned travelers with kids so we know what we can't live without and what we need to bring. For example, I am very picky about cooking stuff so I brought my own skillets. They do have a well-stocked kitchen though and I think most people will be absolutely fine with the equipment provided. Some pictures on VRBO were outdated and the actual house looks better than pictured! For example, the TV in living room is new . We came during probably the worst time weather-wise. It was raining and it was cold. It was expected (we knew there will be no sunbathing in December). I can imagine how wonderful the water will be in summer and we hopefully will return to completely take advantage of all the activities this house has to offer. The dock is very nice (we did sort of fished from it, or at least kids spent some time dunking the worm in water). There is a pool table in the house and ping pong table outside - we played on both. We used the grill too. It is not huge but works well. Overall, it has been a very nice and relaxing week - exactly what we were looking for. The last note (in case anyone else has the same requirement) internet was very important for us (four people on zoom at the same time!) and I was very happy with the speed of the connection. When I had a few questions to the owner, they were answered very quickly. Overall, very happy with our small vacation and definitely hoping to come back in summer!
