This is a lovely cottage, very comfortable, very clean. John and Ellen, the hosts, left snacks and bottled wine as welcome gifts. John was readily available for questions.
the property is on a deadend street, the neighborhood is lovely for walks, just a few blocks to the charming town of Safety Harbor, quite close to Phillipe Park. Just a lovely place to stay.

What an incredible vacation...we enjoyed our stay immensely! The home is quant and comfortable. We were close to downtown safety harbor. Dead end street made it very quiet. Thanks John for everything!

I loved the area, lots of places to walk and visit, Folly Farms is a fun place. Many good eating place in SH and
out on 19. Shopping was easy with several Publix nearby.
Lovely boardwalks along Tampa bay with the Pelicans diving into the water for fish. Weather was good too. Loved the small town atmosphere and slow living.

Everything is well thought out at Casa del Tren. All we could need in the kitchen, laundry and bathrooms are provided. It’s very close to Main Street, we walked the town! The outdoor lights above the patio are so festive and plenty of natural light inside. It’s an absolute treasure!

At the end of a dead end street, beside a church, lies a hip oasis that delivers on every prior review/rating. We will be back whenever in the area again. The hosts were great and checked in on us to ensure a great experience.

My experience renting this property is very positive. Cleanliness deserves a 10 on a 1-5 scale. Location was only two block from Main Street. I would definitely rent this property again!!

The house was great, it was cute, very clean and had everything we needed. The back patio was wonderful to sit outside in the evening. It was close to restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay again!

Exactly what we needed
My toddler and I stayed at Casa del Tran for a week. We were visiting family and wanted some extra space. It was a fantastic experience for so many reasons... 1) the location- we walked to main street daily. It was nice to have so many food options so close. 2) the communication from the owners was above and beyond. They weren't bothered by any request or question. 3) Just a great place to stay with so many useful amenities! The back patio is huge and gave my son space to use up energy. We loved the hanging lights too! There is a TV and AC unit in both bedrooms and in the living room- really nice touch. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and utensils for cooking. Just note that there are no plastic dishes or cups for little ones. Not an issue for us since we have toddler dishes at our parents' house that we brought over.
This will be our go-to place when we don't stay with family!

Great location
Really loved the city and location. Favorite restaurants were Barfly and Gigglewaters for movie and dinner. Discovered Woodys seafood in palmetto and farmers market - detwilers. Owners were always available to us. Home was very clean.

We had a magical vacation with our two kids at this property. Location is excellent, it is near restaurants, coffee shops, marina, parks and at the same time it is private. In the mornings, we admired sunrises at the marina and evenings we spent at the patio looking at stars. Patio is a great place for gathering and yoga. Excellent breeze and bird sounds help to connect with nature. This property has everything you need to make your vacation pleasant and memorable.

Our experience in safety harbor was fun! Coming back to this home after our bike rides was so relaxing. Great outdoor space. Met John... super nice and willing to share his enthusiasm for the area with you.

Exceptional house/location
Our stay was wonderful. John was so easy to deal with-always replied to emails within minutes. The place was so cute, clean and within walking distance of the quaint town of Safety Harbor. Lovely Home
The house looked exactly as it does online. It's clean and bright and beautiful. The location was 25 minutes from Clearwater Beach and 25 minutes from the University of Tampa. It was perfect for us. The owner goes out of the way to make sure your stay is perfect. Highly recommend.

Casa del Tren was perfect!
This was the first time we had rented on VRBO. Immediately after my first inquiry I was contacted by the owner who was very friendly, and answered the few questions that I had.
John kept in touch with us all along the way and made sure that when we arrived everything was to our liking. He helped us with everything from the beach chair/umbrella rentals, to even leaving us a special gift of our favorite wines. The property itself was beautiful, well kept, and very clean. The private location was a huge plus as the kids got to play outside, while we sipped wine on the backyard patio. Everything that downtown Safety Harbor has to offer is just a few steps away. This was the most ideal property for our family vacation, and I highly recommend any of John and Ellen’s properties. They are very thoughtful hosts, their attention to detail is second to none, and they run a tight ship.
We will definitely be renting from them again.

Unique & adorable property in Safety Harbor
Our stay at Casa del Tren was wonderful! We love the fun vibe of Safety Harbor-and the location of this property is perfect-so close to downtown! The house is clean, very nicely decorated, and had absolutely everything that we needed. John was so responsive to any questions that we had or anything at all that we needed. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent from him again, and in fact have already done that!

Great Stay in Safety Harbor
We very much enjoyed this property. The owner communicated with us early on in the process and was very available if we needed him. We didn't though, the house had practically everything we needed. I would recommend a couple of "beach" towels because when you're traveling with a kid, the last thing you have space for is a towel ;) We left a couple behind that hopefully will be useful.
I didn't get a chance to log the trains in the house book, there were only a few during our week long stay. One night there was a couple back to back, pretty loud but our toddler loved it and we went right back to sleep.
We would totally stay here again. It's so great to find a VRBO like this where you know the owner is easy to get a hold of and pays so much attention to detail :)

Beautiful, newly-renovated "Old Florida" home in a Perfect Location!
This cozy and comfortable home is tucked away at the end of a very quiet street surrounded by moss-draped oak trees. We had serene privacy in the home but we were just steps away from everything that beautiful Safety Harbor has to offer.
Our hosts, John and Ellen, were always quick to respond with any questions during the booking process, arrival, etc. They even checked in with us to see if there was anything else we needed from them to make sure we enjoyed our stay. They want their guests to be very comfortable and are happy to give suggestions, etc. and do whatever they can so ensure a great experience for their guests.
The house has been beautifully renovated with luxury appliances, furniture, and soft goods. The lighting was the best I've seen in any rental or luxury hotel. John and Ellen are generous in supplying most everything you would need in the kitchen and bathrooms. Everywhere you look, there is a thoughtfully placed item that you might need during your stay. The patio is a private retreat for morning coffee or evening BBQ. Cheery red umbrellas for daytime and fun lights strung overhead for the evenings.
Casa del Tren is a bit of luxury in Old Florida. You can gain a real sense of place by staying here. I can't say enough about how perfect the location is and how much we enjoyed being John and Ellen's guests.

A+ property and hosts - as advertised!
We loved Casa del Tren. Perfect location and the property was as advertised. Had all of the amenities and extras (two blow dryers, two patio tables, two umbrellas, etc.) and they were kind enough to have the AC running before we checked it (which is not always the case). Was very clean and neighborhood was safe and quiet. Also, very walkable (with 10 restaurants within a few blocks). John and Ellen were great hosts and provided excellent recommendations. Our family had a great trip to the Tampa / St. Pete area and this property was a large part of it.

Safety Harbor Gem!!!
Casa del Tren is a wonderful place to stay in downtown Safety Harbor, a few blocks from Main Street and all it has to offer! Cute, quaint, very clean home at the end of the street that had everything you could possibly need! Every time one of us said "Wonder if they have ..." we'd look and there it would be!
We enjoyed the lovely patio every morning for coffee as we listened to Safety Harbor come to life. And Saturday evening we had family in the area over for a cookout as there is a Weber grill you can use. It was great to be able to host them and relax with a few games of cornhole while we waited for dinner to cook!!
John and Ellen are wonderful hosts, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, and the ability to contact them at any time and for any reason. They want to make sure you enjoy your stay.
Loved Safety Harbor and it's laid back style and cannot wait to go back! We can only hope Casa del Tren is available!!

Quiet Yet Close to Everything
Our stay at Casa del Tren met and exceeded expectations. Our home away from home was spacious and well-equipped. It was quiet and yet the location was ideal in terms of its proximity to downtown Safety Harbor’s very good restaurants and shops. We love Safety Harbor for its funky vibe and convenience to both sides of the bay. Casa del Tren was perfect and we hope to be back soon.

The Perfect Place
This place was absolutely amazing. The house is a complete re-model and is extremely well appointed. It's located in the coolest neighborhood I have ever been in while in Florida. We had friends over and ate out on the beautiful patio and played corn hole. The church had a party next door over the weekend and they brought us some leftover food afterwards while we were outside.
Two blocks down the road there was a "silent disco" that we went to and danced at for hours. We rented headphones and danced while the DJ spun some tunes. It was AMAZING! They have it once a month and we will definitely come back for that!
There are a ton a bars, shops and arts/community centers within BLOCKS of the house.
We brought our pups and they loved the place too. Everything is close by and there is a wonderful dog park 2 miles down the road that they went to every day.
There is also a beautiful Spa down the street too that you can get a day pass to to use their facilities or get a massage, etc.
If I wasn't a full-time RV traveler and had to live somewhere permanently, I would buy THIS PLACE!
If you want to stay somewhere that is funky and lively and get a good taste of a diverse neighborhood with lots to do this is the place to stay!
I was in touch with John the whole time we were here and he made sure we had everything we needed. He truly wants people to experience the love and joy that he has obviously so meticulously put into this place. He is very kind and extremely accommodating.

P.S. We only heard the train 3 times in the week we stayed here and it was a complete non-issue:)

Another trip to Safety Harbor......another wonderful unforgettable experience!... Thank you John and Ellen for sharing your new home with us.....I thought Casa Blue couldn't be beat, but Casa Del Tren was another level of convenience and luxury!..... Close to everything in the Harbor, and only minutes away from all that Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater has to offer. All my future business trips to this area will always begin at either Casa Del Tren or Casa Blue....world class STR's with world class hosts!.....
