Beautiful inside and out.
The electricity went off in the evening and there was nobody onsite. We had to telephone the owner to come and fix it.

We liked everything! Such a beautiful old estate with lots of history in every part of it! The rooms are filled with gorgeous old fashioned furniture, the vintage feeling is everywhere. The bed covers in grey waffle cotton were so beautiful.
The tasty breakfast outside with a superbly cute pool view was unforgettable!
Staff ladies do not speak English only Portuguese, so be sure to know how to use Google translator😉

Characterful summer house ser in attractive garden with pool 5 minutes from the beach. Friendly, helpful service greeting you. Elegant light filled bedroom with small balcony looking out to sea view. Powerful walk-in shower.
Tasty buffet breakfast included in price including freshly squeezed orange juice, typical pastries, cheese, ham, yogurt. We ate out on the terrace overlooking the large pool. The Agudo beach is Sandy and good for swimming and the walkway route over the dunes worth taking. We had a great meal at fresh fish restaurant Zizis on the front in the village of Arcozelo. Best fish stew and calamares..a fabulous stopover!
The coffee machine got jammed but the staff quickly produced another one. Quite difficult to get hold of the staff at times but always charming and helpful when we got them. The bathroom and bedroom could benefit from some hooks to hang up towels, coats etc.
But small things.. overall a great stay

The staff were really lovely. We didn’t have time for breakfast as we were running late for appointments but it looked nice.
The loud music playing until after midnight in the house somewhere!

this is a renovated mansion with a swimming pool. it is in an excellent quiet location. staff was great, so was breakfast. rooms were comfortable, we almost had the whole house to ourselves.
There was hardly any restaurant open closeby, which is problem if you are just with bikes, like us.

5 minute walk to Aguda train station and 20 minutes from there into Porto, which is a wonderful city.
And in a different direction - 5 minutes to the beachfront, the sea on the harbour wall is amazing
Booking.com was strange on this. We booked the room, then when we got the confirmation email it stated "do you want to upgrade to a room with ensuite. This threw us somewhat. So we cancelled the booking! I rang the hotel and they confirmed
there is ensuite, so we booked again, confirmation email stated the same. But all the rooms are ensuite. I hope someone at booking.com reads this and sorts it!

The hotel is close to the beach but aguda beach is rocky and dirty. Parking is available on site but there is also plenty of space in the street.
The hotel is very close to the railway. You can hear trains all day and night. Our room (n°1) was noisy with lots of train passing to Porto. The pool was dirty, the water was trouble we didn't dare use it. No service at all, staff unavailable and not present at all. You are left alone once check in is done.
Breakfast was poor, with cheap products. We didn't receive the food we asked at check in but totally different ones and we were not pleased. I am vegeterian and we received meat every day. Thiw hotel is Way too expensive for what you get.

Nice house, clean rooms, friendly personnel who did not speak English but tried to communicate via google translate, good breakfast, near beach, swimming pool, kitchen with free coffee and tea.
Quite far from Porto (which we had not realised),The kitchen and breakfast area were very small and not really nice. We had 4 days of mist, so we didn't use the pool

We liked the property, the rooms were very bright and comfortable. Great facilities and common areas.

The room was nice with a balcony. The breakfast was good and the check in process was easy. The staff was accommodating. Parking was on site, secure and included.
The bed was a bit firm but not too uncomfortable.

Very convenient location to visit sites around Porto. Spacious house with convenient facilities. The host was very helpful.
Next to the train station, might be noisy during the night for those who are not used to it.

We were there for two night only and end October, been the only guests in the house. The lady who welcomed us was very friendly and accommodating. She organized breakfast with fresh orange juice even we did not expect it. The house itself is traditional and older but in an excellent shape, well taken care of. The rooftop rooms were big and well equipped, quality of beds outstanding, every room with an own TV. Heatings in all rooms well functioning and with a thermostat. There was a swimming pool outside the house but given the season and rainy weather we did not leverage it at all, looked very nice and well maintained.
The bathroom had no window and is rather small but still comfortable. The mirror is not straight on the wall due to the roof shape, nevertheless ok.
