Lovely, Sunny And Private Cottage with Gardens in Central Marin.
Ce chalet est unique en son genre. C'est charmant, calme et dans un emplacement incroyable, au centre de tout. Une base idéale pour explorer la Bay Area! San Francisco est à 30 min au sud, la région viticole est à 45 min au nord et tout Marin vous entoure. Le chalet est à 20 minutes du Golden Gate Bridge, à 5 minutes de l'autoroute 101 et à distance de marche facile d'un brunch ou d'une pizza dans le doux centre-ville de Kentfield. Mais voici le kicker: il se sent totalement retiré, une oasis secrète. C'est sur une propriété fermée de 2 acres couverte de bois, de bosquets de séquoias et de jardins, et se sent totalement privé. C'est un endroit merveilleux pour rentrer à la maison après une journée bien remplie.
Le chalet est doux, spacieux et serein. Il a été récemment rénové avec de nouveaux sols et moquettes et de la peinture fraîche partout. Le salon dispose d'un nouveau canapé-lit queen Restoration Hardware - très confortable pour s'asseoir et dormir. La salle à manger peut accueillir 4 personnes. La grande télévision à écran plat est livrée avec un ensemble de câbles premium. Hors du salon est une grande terrasse en séquoia avec barbecue Weber, très privée et charmante. Vous verrez des cerfs sur la pelouse devant la porte d'entrée et des colibris sur le pont presque tous les jours. Un nouveau système de chauffage / climatisation vous gardera à l'aise en toute saison - bien que Marin soit si doux que vous ouvrirez les portes du pont et profiterez de l'air frais!
La cuisine est simplement équipée de tous les éléments de base: lave-vaisselle, nouveau réfrigérateur, micro-ondes, grille-pain, éléments essentiels du garde-manger.
La chambre dispose d'un magnifique nouveau lit queen-size en acacia massif avec un matelas Sealy Posturepedic haut de gamme et de nouveaux draps de haute qualité. Il a de grandes fenêtres et une belle lumière.
La salle de bain est plus ancienne et a besoin d'être rénovée, mais elle est propre. Il a une douche (pas de baignoire), un lavabo et de nouvelles toilettes. L'unité a également une buanderie séparée avec laveuse / sécheuse.
Les propriétaires vivent sur la propriété, dans la maison principale, et sont généralement disponibles pour vous aider avec tout ce dont vous avez besoin.

Cute spot. Tranquil as can be! The private deck with a wraparound couch overlooking the forest will suck you in. Grab a sandwich from the incredible market down the street. Explore Mt Tam nearby. I’d stay here again in a flash. Thanks for the sweet stay.

We enjoyed our stay for three weeks. The only thing that was tricky was having to back up from the parking space at a strange angle to wait for the automatic gate to open. Other than that it was clean, lovely and private. A very nice hideaway and very handy to College of Marin.

This is a great spot. The cottage itself feels private and the balcony is large and looks upon the woods. You’ll see stars at night. The fenced yard we shared with a few others was great for our dog who got along well with Rosie the resident dog. The bed was great for getting rest and we did make quite a bit of use of the kitchen. The only thing to be aware of is some of the fittings especially in the kitchen are quite old and in need of renovation.

Charming cabin in a peaceful environment, yet so close to Kentfield! Great deck looks out over the woods (and the deer if you are lucky to see them). Heat pump provided great heating and cooling on demand. Comfortable bed. Kitchen needed a few more items (scissors, large bowls, etc.). May well stay here again. Lovely.

My partner and I had a pleasant stay in the cottage which was private, clean, bright and comfortable, though dated and as we were told, will eventually be renovated. For our stay it was very functional.
The kitchen is equipped with full sized appliances and a dishwasher. There is a small laundry room in the cottage with full-sized washer and dryer, great for stays over a few days. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and lovely views out to the trees. The bathroom was small with a tiny shower however. The living room nicely sized with a door to the deck. We felt like we were in a lovely treehouse.
The parking is quite tight, so one has to be extra careful to stay in their assigned spot. Our hosts were very responsive to any questions.

Beautiful cottage in good location with amazing scenery and so quiet and peaceful. Cottage itself it well laid out with bedroom and living room at opposite ends and the bathroom inbetween. High quality sheets and tasteful decorations made for one of our best stays in the area.

Needed a quick getaway with my daughter before she headed to college. Location was perfect for multiple options both walking distance and within reasonable driving distance. Shopping, hiking, Tomales Bay for oysters, and great restaurants. Parking is limited to one car, which worked for us.

Over all it was good. The cottage is dated and bathroom sink drain was an issue from the start. Beautiful outside deck and bbq. Parking is explained but is difficult if others do not stay to the designated location you are given. If you want to cook the kitchen could use some more pans and dishes (wine glasses). Over all very nice and would stay again and recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed being able to escape the business of San Fransisco and come home to this quiet and beautiful place every night. As other reviews stated, some areas need updating but for what our family needed, it was perfect. Beds were comfortable, having a washer/dryer was very helpful, there was plenty of room for us to relax in and overall such a great setting tucked in the woods. We especially enjoyed the book of recommended local restaurants, grocery stores and things to do...more places need something like that for first time visitors!

I think this was our fourth time coming here. The bed is very comfortable. The location is lovely and it’s a short drive to everything Marin has to offer. It’s also a short drive into the city. For avid hikers - it’s possible to walk out the door from the cottage and hike up Mount Tam - and even all the way to Stintson Beach!

Property listing is accurate. Would recommend not arriving after dark as it is challenging to see the street name from the main road especially if you are not familiar with the area. Good communication with the property owner, very responsive. My overrall rating of 4 stars is because there were many cobwebs on the deck railing near the furniture, in addition to the entryway landing in the rafters. One of the main reasons I rented this cottage was because of the outside area and deck - it would have been appreciated if the cobwebs were removed to the best of the property manager's ability prior to our arrival. Overall, I would definitely recommend this cottage for the setting, tranquility and being very close to Sausalito.

Rustic/Nice
We had stayed on this property before and loved it. We were in the other cabin that has now been renovated and is absolutely beautiful. But it was more than what we needed for the two of us so we rented this one knowing it would be rustic, and we were okay with that. The location is so amazing and so private and so quiet. Yes a few things could be done to make it a little better and I'm sure in time this cabin will get a redo like the other one. Jenny and Sandy are wonderful people to deal with and their dog Rosie is adorable.

A Cottage Nestled among the Flowers
A basic – sort of 1950s rustic – yet comfortable cottage, with views of trees & greenery from all the windows. (Several times at dusk, we watched a fox make its rounds through the bushes below the deck.)
The deck, by the way is a pleasant place to sit in the early mornings & late afternoon.

The two wall-mounted air conditioning units were quiet & remarkably effective.
Very clean.
The kitchen is well-equipped. New refrigerator & microwave.
The cottage is in an excellent location, being only minutes away from groceries, coffee shops, and notable restaurants.
Jenny is a congenial hostess, who was quick to respond to any questions we had.
Overall, a most pleasant stay. Will look to return in the near future.

Private comfortable stay!
This cottage is perfect for a stay in the Bay Area! Muir Woods and the Marin Headlands are easily accessible! The Larkspur Ferry terminal is a short drive. Park for $2 and take the ferry to San Francisco! The bed was very comfortable and the sunshine coming in was fantastic. We very much enjoyed having access to Sling! Thank you for that! The California poppies were in bloom and gorgeous! The parking was no problem and the property and cottage were exactly as described! Thank you for a comfortable and convenient stay!

Great location for North Bay adventures
The location was great, close to grocery stores and restaurants, but secluded enough amongst trees that it was very peaceful and felt isolated in a good way. It was a great home base for venturing to Muir Woods, Mt. Tam and Sausalito!

Lovely place
This cottage was a fantastic launching spot for adventuring on Mt. Tamalpais and adjacent beaches and outdoor areas. The cottage was quaint and lovely, with a comfortable bed, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Good communication with the owner. Highly recommmend!

Amazing Stay
This property was so charming and fit our needs perfectly. The owner quickly responded to any messages we sent and was so kind. If you read the other reviews, yes the property is a little out dated, but that didn't get in the way of what a great stay it was. The location made it so that everything we needed was within a 5-10 minute drive away and we had planned to go spend most of our time at Point Reyes and this property was comfortable, spacious, and safe. We ate dinner outside on the outdoor patio and because this property has stairs leading down to it, it gave it more of a secluded feel . I highly recommend you stay here, you won't regret it!

Just the right amount of space for our group (mom and 3 teenagers). We cooked and enjoyed meals on the patio. Beautiful neighborhood a short drive to the city. Coffee shop, neighborhood grocery store, and walking trails a short walk from the property.

Comfortable and rustic cozy
We stayed here because we were going to visit places where we had lived and gone to grad school here 50 years ago! So the location was a key factor for us. The cottage is dated but very comfortable and very quiet neighborhood. We did not have any direct contact with the host except on line but the instructions received were very helpful and accurate. The cottage is dated, especially the bathroom but it is clean comfortable and a good value for the price. You have your own private deck with gas grill which was especially nice. There is plenty of room for two and the kitchen has everything you need for the stay. We appreciated the beautiful setting and the value of our stay.

Pleasant and peaceful retreat
A comfortable place to stay, with a really nice, rustic ambience, hidden away among the trees at the top of a hill. Jenny responds quickly to messages, and the property notes were very comprehensive. We were there during a hot spell with temperatures into the 90s, and appreciated the A/C, which cooled the place down quickly at night. We didn't experience any issues during our stay.

Peaceful retreat
My husband and I loved this property. The bed is very comfortable and as with other properties of Jennys, there is a feeling of living in a treehouse. The bedroom has two nice bedside tables with large lamps for reading and the temperature of the house is easy to regulate with 2 wall mounted heat/cooling systems. We had a washer and dryer which is always a plus when traveling.The kitchen had everything we needed and 2 grocery stores are close by. The property is landscaped beautifully with more than adequate lighting. Jenny checked on us via text to see if we needed anything and responded quickly when we had questions. We will definitely stay here in the future.
