Breakfast is wonderful! Cocktail hour is fabulous, and the views are great. The owner is very accommodating, you will not be disappointed.

Le manoir est magnifique et très bien restauré. L’accueil de Tammy a été chaleureux autour d’un verre ce qui a permit quelques échanges avec les autres hôtes présents. Le quartier regorge de maisons de la fin di 19 eme,toutes plus jolies les unes que les autres. La vieille ville de Galveston et ses boutiques se situent à deux pas.

Unique experience

Had to climb stairs with luggage

The location is in a residential area but close to the main points of interests I wished to see and visit in Galveston. Car parking was on-street and at no cost. The happy hour that Kathy hosted was very pleasant. The home-cooked breakfast was excellent.

I was allocated room 5 on the third floor. The air conditioning in the room could not be set to a temperature I found comfortable, far too cold on my first night, far too hot on the second night and making sleep impossible from 2am onwards. The cause of this was raised with Kathy who apologised. The room has no window and therefore no fresh air, the bathroom had two small block glass windows that could not be opened. There was no hot water available in the shower for about 5 minutes after turning it on, again this fact was known to Kathy. I also found the mattress and pillows to be very sad and worn out. I discussed my experiences with the property owner who accepted my position and offered me the full refund of my reservation costs. This was equitable and acceptable to me. I strongly suggest the owner addresses the points I raised however.

Lovely historic home in an ideal location near The Strand and Port. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Beautiful!
