Incredibly beautiful house, thoughtfully designed, in a perfect location -- in the centre of the old town, but still quiet and peaceful. We loved our stay. We used the house as a base for hiking (Samaria gorge) and sightseeing. Lots of great restaurants nearby.

Perfect location, very great host and overall experience!

Everything about the location was ideal. Perfect, even. It is located within the old town area of Chania — the Old Venetian Harbor region. Literally steps outside the apartment’s door are a myriad of tavernas, coffee shops, retail shops and other vendors. We saw the various neighborhoods and regions in Chania during our 1-week stay on Crete. We by far liked the Old Venetian Harbor area best. The owner was very thoughtful regarding the way in which he prepped the kitchen with staples for us. The entire place was impeccably clean and comfortable. And its design is amazing! I did a walk through and filmed every level of the modern-style apartment because its architecture is so impressive. I surmise the owner is an architect. In any event, Dorotheou House is fantastic, and we look forward to staying there again.

No critique whatsoever about the property. Wonderfully appointed. Incredible hospitality. One thing, though: I will say this was the most difficult check-in process I’ve ever experienced. We all would have appreciated far more guidance or assistance regarding check in because despite the fact that we announced our arrival time — unavoidably after 11:00 PM — well in advance, nothing was done to assist us in obtaining a parking spot then navigating the seeming maze to the apartment. Both in my view were necessary given the language barrier, time of arrival and location of the apartment — literally completely *inconspicuously* located in the Old Town shopping and restaurant district. The owner eventually found us and assisted by leading us to the apartment — which is a good thing, because “walk toward the cathedral then ask for Dorotheou” wasn’t helpful, particularly after a full day of commuting, and at near midnight. Other than that rough start, the apartment and its owner/host were wonderful. We look forward to staying at Dorotheou House again.

The house is beautiful, it looks exactly like the pictures on the website. It is also very clean and neat. All of the supplies in the kitchen are in good and clean condition. Mr. Yannis has wine, fruits, snacks and breakfast supplies ready for us in the refrigerator. Everything was perfect ! We will recommend this house to any friends that is visiting Chania.
