If you want some peace and privacy then Tuckaway is the absolute perfect place for you. My partner and I had the best time. A big thank You to the hosts for the warm welcome. We'll be back soon definetly!

The property was not winterized. There was no heat. The floor was freezing the room was below zero. I know it’s winter and cold ti be expected. But there no additional comforts to warm up the room. The heater didn’t work. It was like camping. This maybe a good spot for warmer months - but not winter. I left on Monday for a new booking at Lord Charles also booked by booking.com - I lost money by leaving but I had no choice - I got sick from being there 1 x night. With such a bad experience - is it possible to get some money refunded ?

The peace and quiet of this place is phenomenal with the birds singing and humming. The atmosphere is unspeakable. The care kit in the bathroom is a marvelous Idea 💡.

The bath had a leaking problem 😞. No iron for the clothes 😭.

Nice and clean

In front nice and tidy. but rest of surroundings needs attention. Road on property were very bad for a car, almost need a 4x4. lots of neglected buildings and no gardens around. Also was difficult to find the place and entrance even with Google Maps. Although friendly staff helped us and directed us.

Sara is the perfect host, and Tuckaway is the perfect place to stay when in the Cape Town area. The self-contained accommodation is immaculate, very comfortable, and looking out onto an amazing garden, with the mountains of Sir Lowry's pass providing a breath taking backdrop. Quiet and secluded, the beautiful beach and welcoming village of Gordon's Bay, Somerset West and the excellent Somerset Mall are all minutes away by car. I especially like this area for giving easy access to many points around the area within a leisurely drive - Cape Point and the peninsula, Betty's Bay, Hermanus, Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Cape Town itself are all close at hand. I hope it will not he long before I can again return to this beautiful "home away from home."

The room was cosy and the view was nice, the area is peaceful and quiet

The room is adjacent to the main house therefore you can hear everything on the other side, also limiting voice control on our end. The room was advertised loadshedding friendly however when we arrived the lights was not charged and one was burnt out and could not be used. One can also not shower during loadshedding as the water supply is completely cut off during this time, which was not communicated prior. There is no kitchen facilities only a bucket that i had i was not told about , only after washing dishes in the basin discovered it. The host also advertised braai facilities and only at the arrival was told we can only braai if there is no wind, which was unacceptable as we packed according to what was on the website, which led to more expenses as we had to purchase food, extra unnecessary driving. The host also hanged around , and shared stories of other guests which was very disgusting and made the room feel dirty and no longer comfortable to sleep in.
