location - super close to the paddington station and it is a perfect alternative for a long layover. I arrived a bit late, but the check in was still open and was very welcoming. the room was spacious, comfortable and warm.

The room was well appointed on the ground floor at the back of the property. The water pressure was amazing so showers were luxurious. The receptionist was helpful, informative and friendly. The continental breakfast choices were excellent. The location of the hotel was ideal for travel being only a short walk away from Paddington Station.

It is accepted for the reason for the stay. Just Bed and breakfast. If you are looking for luxurious hotel, this is not the one. It is just to enjoy the day outside and return to sleep. The reception team is cooperative.

The toilet is terribly tight. The fan in the toilet was out of work.

Nice to see a friendly person on reception at arrival. Good location for us next to Paddington Station arriving by train. Everything nice and clean.

It was good but nothing remarkable. We chose purely on price and location. Rooms a little small for a couple.

Great location and very friendly staff. Convenient for one or two nights without luggage. Breakfast was fair but very simple and lousy coffee.

We had a very squeezed quadruple room. The space available was not even enough to have more than one person walking at the same time. No furniture for your stuff. Bathroom was very tiny and it took them two days to get the toilet properly flushing. The carpet appeared very old and dirty.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great.

The room was damp, the carpets were dirty and smelled funny, and it transferred to our suitcases. Because the room was dry the towels would not dry completely, and to get new towels we had to pay 1£ per towel.

I liked the dual aspect of my room - I booked a double as a treat, just for me - and it was very quiet, at the back of the hotel, overlooking a private courtyard. The bed was comfy and the breakfast good. The Columbus is really a B&B as there is no evening meal facility or lounge / bar but there are plenty of good eateries a couple of minutes' walk away in London Street, including an Italian and a old fashioned style fish and chip cafe. The staff at the Columbus are very efficient and friendly.

I felt a bit uneasy on my last night - there is no concierge on site between 10.30 p.m. and around 7.00 a.m. and I was woken by a loud crashing outside my bedroom door, as though someone was rummaging in a cupboard in the corridor. My room was on the ground floor and I had to assume it was another guest rolling in somewhat the worse for wear (it was 4.00 a.m.) and struggling to find his / her room... I could have rung the parent hotel across the street but decided just to sit tight and wait for the noise to abate, which it finally did. As a lone woman traveller, however, this might be the deal breaker for me in respect of another stay at the hotel, alas.
