It is just some footsteps away from the beach. You can hear the sea at night which is just amazing, wonderfully relaxing. The guest father is so friendly. He was so helpful with personal matters: getting our bagging which arrived one day later, informing us about places to visit and the t-shirt we left at his place :)

Thusara guest house is above all a beautiful place, at the end of a small corner of paradise. The room I occupied is a typical beach vacation room. There is space, it feels good! The bathroom, very large, hot water at will, inside the room, good bedding, silent air conditioning, on top, fan. And icing on the cake, a wifi, fast! :.) Here, it is above all a place where you like to come back and find a friend, with whom to share your day or more intimately, your life. Thusara, smiling, happy, jovial, always ready to help and advise the best corners. It is a pleasure to have met his wife, his children. The room is located 1 mn from the beach... a short way down... nearby, restaurants, bars... far enough away not to be disturbed at night. At your disposal, a small kitchen, fridge, electric kettle... the breakfasts are extra!! For experienced surfers, Mirissa beach and not far, Matara.. for beginners, 5 minutes by scooter, Weligama beach (turning point school was great). The top of the top... and even Muy Thai lessons nearby (ask at the restaurant on the beach run by a Frenchman). I advise, of course, Go for it!

Rohana is a wonderful host and his accommodation is literally a 30sec walk to the beach! There's a couple of eateries there, also.

The host was such a lovely and friendly man. very accommodating. such comfy beds, very clean, good ac and very strong wifi!

I think the bookings.com website gives slightly outdated information as breakfast is not included but that didn’t matter for us as we wanted to go out anyway :)

The wifi could be better. It worked but not very fast.

really loved this place, spotlessly clean. very relaxed, literally 1 minute from the beach. very comfy bed. large room and a strangely massive bathroom. lots of hot water. air con worked perfectly and a fan. space to sit outsiide and hang laundry. the trade off for such a fantastic location is that if the local hotels have a party night you will hear the music. I found this a small price to pay for such a charming family owned guesthouse. Thankyou for all the pots of tea and helpful advice. I would always stay here if I was passing though again. sorry that I kept putting sand everywhere 😂

It's super close to the beach, like you're there within a minute.

When we arrived we were offered a smoothie, which we agreed to after checking if he already has the ingredients in house since we didn't want to wait too long before heading out the beach. Turned out he didn't have them, even though he told us and he had to drive to the store to get them, while we were sitting and waiting there. We asked the owner about transportation to Polhena beach for snorkling and he arranged a tuk tuk for us after we agreed on a price. The driver stayed there for an hour with us and afterwards we asked if he could drop us off a bit further at Weligama beach. When we arrived we paid him more than the originally agreed price and asked if it's ok like that and he said yes. But then afterwards the owner of the stay tells us the driver called to say we need to pay more and the driver will come to get more money. In the afternoon, the driver, which turned out to be the owners brother, came knocking on our door at the stay to ask for more money. He then couldn't give us any exchange money so it would at the end get charged extra to us when we were leaving the stay. The whole situation felt a bit weird and in hindsight we probably should have arranged one of the organized tours to Polhena beach which we saw were being offered on Mirrissa beach, for cheaper money than we ended up paying while being able to stay longer at the beach.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. He always has a smile, He made tea for me when I was ask him. The room was very clean, It has AC and hot water. The location is fantastic very close the bech . But Wifi is week.so if you have Sim card its not problem for you. I Will come back soon.

The host, Rohana, is always cheerfully smiling and eager to help. He did a lot to help me when I got a stomach infection and does not hesitate to involve his wife in helping. Thusara gives good value for money.

The noise from Mirissas party centers. Could be annoying during nighttime, especially over new year festival.

We had a wunderful stay at thusara guest house. The manager is very nice and super helpful, the room was clean, everything went fine. The guest house is a nice and quiet place with not too many rooms, and the location is perfect because it's located little aside around the corner from the nice but also crowded beach. To the beach it's only a 1 minute walk, and everything you need like shops and restaurants are very close. To the main street it's a 5 minute walk, so it's really quiet and peaceful. We can definitely recommend that place

I liked everything

The hotel is 10m from the beach. or 5m. There is hot water supply and there is a small restaurant next door for all needs. The owner of the hotel was very enthusiastic, he showed me the route in detail on the map, and he also took me to town on a motorcycle.

Very good place, nice family and we had all what we needed.

Thusara is a very friendly and helpfull host. He arranged a whale watching tour for us. When we didn't saw any whales he arranged the next day another whale watching tour free of charge. Also he makes you breakfast and gives advise where to go.

Super close to the beach. You can hear it in the morning

The location was perfect. Just a minute or two walk away from the end of Mirissa beach and the surrounding bars and restaurants. It was away from the busy, noisy roads and by-passers yet still central. We managed to walk everywhere but there are many yuk tuks in the area. The owner, Rohana, was a very genuine and helpful person. He was very approachable and he helped us to arrange taxis to Yala National Park and for our onward journey to Galle. He also arranged our pre flight PCR test (doctor is able to come to the guesthouse by appointment). The room was the biggest we stayed in during our trip and everything was in working order and very clean. Breakfast was available for an extra cost of 700LKR per person which was reasonable.

The only down side was the noise at night (although not every night). The nearby beach venues have DJs certain nights of the week and they can be heard from the property.

A lovely little guest house, less than 2 minutes from the beach. Rowhanna who runs it is a lovely man, always has a big smile and will help you with anything he can. Excellent shared kitchen with big fridge and cooking equipment. Comfortable sofa and chairs on the terrace to relax. A quiet 'real' area of Mirissa. I would highly recommend.
