Very pleasant place with friendly staff (especially Valeri - the piccolo). They checked us in way ahead of check-in time, which was very polite, given we were with a baby. They had upgraded our stay to a see-view room for free, since we were first-time guests. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Everyone at the restaurant were extremely polite. Very special shout out to all the chefs - they do magic!

One thing that could be managed better is the "private" beach access. If this is what you advertise, then make sure it is accessible. One of the reasons why we picked this place was exactly that, and it wasn't very nice to get there in the morning and see every sunbed being "reserved" with someone's wet towell, so that someone could sleep late in the morning, and guests with little children (who visit the beach in early hours) be deprived from something we have paid for. We were quite surprised, as well, when they said parking was paid extra. I hoped what I had read in reviews would not be true, since a close friend recommended the place and I asked whether parking was really paid extra, to which she said "no"; so I am not entirely sure how they pick who is to pay or not. We paid so the car could be outside on the street, not even at the car park. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying, but for a hotel of this rank it would really look better if the charge were just added to the booking.

Property is well kept, the food variety and quality is excellent. I have traveled around the world and this property is top 5% of all the branded or family owned hotels I have stayed in. The location on the beach is great. It is quiet at night and you can get a good night sleep. The Black Sea is much better than the Mediterranean or Caribbean - not as hot and humid, almost no waves on most days, clear and calm water.

The free chairs and umbrella were very limited. The Helena bar on the beach had taken most of the beach and is renting chairs and umbrella but they were not a good value. Parking is tight and limited.

Great location and right by the beach -nice rooms and facilities . Breakfast was incredible .

staff weren’t that engaging and dinner wasn’t great for a hotel of this calibre -avoid the ‘beef’.

It’s an oasis away from all the trouble.

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.

Overall good cleanliness of the room and the common areas. The food is delicious and there is great variety of options. Location is super convenient.

The pools were not as clean as one would hope. One of the bar tenders at the lobby bar was rather impolite. The evening entertainment is too short (1h) and often the music reaches 100dB which is harmful for adults, let alone for the many small children playing around.

Clearly not a 5 star hotel. Would not return back. We had a view to other balconies and our only view to the sea was from the balcony, corner side. Food was almost all cooked in oil so if you do not want to eat oil that is again a problem. The sofa in the living was awful, not conformable at all. Staff was 70% non English speaker.

Nothing really was to like espacially it is commercialized as 5 star hotel

The furniture is old and worn out, specially the bed, the services are bad, its hard to find someone to help you, one of the worst hotels I've been, the staff are rude with bad morals, and when I was checking out they tried to charge me more. They where screaming at us. Threatning with the bodyguards. They know you are avoiding issues and you will pay to get out safely so they abuse that. They charged us for stuff that we did not have. They even charged us for parking on the main street. Becareful when you go there. As for all the possible charges. Keep your stuff with you as it is stolen from the room. Its better to avoid this hotel. Seriously, its 3 stars at max. Also I forgot to mention, check the minibar when u check in because they will claim to have stuff there and you have used it. Again there are better options in sunny beach.

Great hotel, ideally located on the beach with a very beautiful sea view, large rooms and balconies with all the needed facilities. Very friendly staff. One of the best hotels in Sunny Beach.

Clean, beautiful pool area and a great and clean beach and the perfect entrance in the sea (not deep water, no rocks)

I like everything about Helena. The personal is great,the food,the view,the comfort.I like that they are very well organized!
