Nice and vibes - great landlord
6.0
The staff were very friendly and polite.
I couldn’t find anything on the menu that I liked and when I did order I didn’t enjoy what I had unfortunately.
My room was very cold, they had already placed an electric heater in the room but I have a lovely electric shock when I tried to move it away from the chair. I let the staff know about it but after my shock I was afraid to try and turn it up.

Small old traditional British style hotel
Old building inside hystoric village with very old church and buildings surraounding it
The area offers very poor restaurant facilities after 7PM.
If your flight lands in Gatwick after 6PM I recommend to stop before to arrive in the Hotel area otherwise you risk to don't find any food

A truly wonderful, traditional village hotel (which I have known for many years). Lovely interior and a great garden area. Rooms are first class, and the price was extremely competitive compared to other options in the area.

Super comfortable bed, nice shower and good facilities (fan, heater etc). Decent parking behind the hotel and a nice garden area. The pub looked really good but I didn't eat or drink there. Great location if visiting Brands Hatch, only a 10 min drive to the main gate.
Everything was good, the only criticism was a few bits in the room could have been cleaner. Overall not an issue though as the important bits were clean.

The quality. Excellent value for money and the staff were all really pleasant, positive and helpful. A real gem.

clean tidy quiet and slightly old fashioned and modern at the same time GREAT MIX!!
the key is a bit fiddly and you also have to lock from inside but nothing major and broken chair on the arm but we didn’t need it anyway

Very nice pub with rooms. The staff are welcoming and it's a good informal place to stay
Slightly disorganised breakfast - food very good nevertheless

The microscopic bathroom, you can't use the washbasin but there is soap in case you do try to wash your hands.
Major highlight was that kettle worked.
I travel a lot on business and this was my worst overnight stay for >5 years. A good hotel if you like a challenge or want to play scrabble all night with no intention to sleep, or you're hard of hearing.
We stayed during summer and on arrival the room was like an oven and had not been aired or vented during the day, the windows could only be partially opened and there was no possibility to air the room. There was no fan/ventilator to cool the room. The room on the first floor was directly next to the main road. Accordingly neither of slept during due to the combination of heat and traffic noise.
As a seasonal highlight and just to make sure we felt at home there were full winter duvets on the beds to ensure we didn't catch cold.
The following morning we were offered an alternative room, but moved to a different hotel to avoid a reoccurance. All-in-all: we occupied one room for one night but payed for two nights just to escape.
My tip for the owners would be to provide free of charge ear plugs.

character property, grand beds, luxury upholstery, good parking
hallways and entrances, automated lighting in bathroom that we couldn’t turn off

Genuinely old in a good way. My room was much bigger and better furnished than I had dared to expect which made it very comfortable. Even had a four poster bed. Bar staff excellent and new what they were doing. Very good food.
Having such a short stay.

Fabulous hotel, full of charm and quirkiness. Staff and owner were so accommodating and Dionne, Mary and Martin couldn't do enough to help. My room was a large and beautiful deluxe room with a 4 poster bed and it was such a comfortable sleep 8n luxurious sheets. The breakfast was delicious and all the meals we had were lovely and piping hot. We will definately return to this lovely property
Loved everything, nothing I didn't like.

Old traditional English hotel. Nice cosy pub.
Room a bit small in particular the bathroom

Didn't have breakfast. Location was picturesque and quiet.

Spacious well-furnished room and ensuite. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking space. Quiet village location.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend the dinner. Over-priced and rather unusual menu. Options in the village are limited so you would need to drive somewhere to find alternative.
