Comfortable bed and lovely homely place. Great to have kitchen facilities and place to relax after a day of exploring this beautiful corner of the world! Great access to all the beaches on the peninsula.

Nothing! Would recommend doing a grocery shop prior to arrival. We weren't very organised and it would allow more time for exploring but that's a reflection on us and advice for others to make the most out of their visit!

We had an amazing stay at Karikari lodge. It was very clean and tidy, and nicely decorated. The room with kitchen had literally everything we needed. Hosts are very kind and friendly and made us feel welcome. They provided good breakfast, with some fresh vegetables and fruit, and homemade muffins. We also loved the outside seating area with hottub and beautiful view, which was great after a wonderful day at the beaches (which are closeby and absolutely stunning). Would definitely visit again.

An amazing accommodation, clean, spacious, tastefully decorated with all amenities you would need. An absolute delight to holiday there.

Katalina and Paul were wonderful hosts during the 2 nights we stayed in the cottage. They have made the place so warm and inviting. with care taken on every little detail in the place. We had everything we needed.. Highlight for us was sitting in the spa looking out at the view surrounded by the lovely garden which was just what we needed.

There is nothing that we didn't like

the ciottage had everything you could want. The local shops were great, petrol, corner dairy across the road and opposite corner, takeaway shop, bottle store, and the Tuatua Tavern. Chatting with the locals was great - good old fashioned friendliness. The cottage also had a rooftop lookout over Tokerau Bay, with a small table and chairs and ashtrays for the nicotine challenged.

The weather - but hey we were on holiday.

I LOVED my stay in the Pohutakawa Cabin. It was so tranquil, peace and private. I loved having my own entrance with my car conveniently right there. How wonderful waking up and throwing open the curtains and just enjoying the feeling of space and the lovely view. Paul and Katarina are wonderful hosts - they are genuinely lovely people and that shows in everything they do ... the lovely, homely environment they have created for their guests, the care in the decorating of the spaces, the gorgeous gardens and their general helpfulness and loveliness to everyone. I really loved my stay and I hope to be back. Oh and the closeness of world class beaches is mind blowing - jump in your car for 5 mins and you will be talking on a gorgeous tropical beach. I visited 5 beaches in my stay - the longest drive being 15 mins. They were all spectacular!!

Such a beautiful and characteristic place to stay, we were greeted and felt very welcomed considering we arrived quite late and they were happy to accommodate us. Awesome complimentary breakfast as well. Amazing view from our little accommodation.

Everything was absolutely great no complaints at all would stay again. Highly recommend.

We were the only people staying as the room letting is limited at present. There's a real "beachy" vibe about the place. A bit of "Bali in NZ" so to speak. Excellent facilities overall and you are made to feel at home.

I stayed in the cabin right at the back of the property and everything was really good. The kitchenware and bedroom were well equipped, tidy and clean. Lots of nice details, very cosy and chill corners. The view is awesome too!

Exceptional hosts. Lovely people. Kind, generous and welcoming. Beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable accommodation. Hope to return for summer holiday when the weather is nicer!

There was nothing we disliked

so much thought and care has gone into the space. everything you needed was there, tidy and good positioning to be able to practically do things. cute and clean good queen bed and water pressure great hosts, lots of local knowledge shared and use of paddle boards and kayaks (not that we used as we were too busy beaching, but hopefully next time ☺️) lovely view from a sheltered small deck

if you’re not keen on spiders, even though they were dead as the place was well kept, you might see one 😉

Owners extremely friendly and I loved all the little homely touches like home made mini mince pies and bacon & eggs in fridge.
