Real heritage palace vibes .

Who could fail to love the Mandir Palace? It’s a glorious old palace, spectacular to look at, but with super comfy rooms, cosy in the heart of winter. The staff were simply fabulous, dignified but warm and friendly and sympathetic, and helped enormously with our travel problems. Location also perfect. By far the best place to stay in Jaisalmer. Will be back!
It was entirely perfect. Weather was cold but staff made sure our room was warm and cosy. Good WiFi, ample hot water, lots of covers, good breakfast.

Location was good in the city centre
Service was not good. They cheaped out on the buffet lunch and breakfast by deliberately being late on the buffet refill, waiting on new guests to arrive.

Breakfast was great.Palace located in the heart of city.Dinner at roof top restaurant was great very memorable.
Very particular with the checkout time.Requested for late check out as our flight was in the afternoon but they asked us to vacate the room and use the facilities like pool etc.

It’s a famous 4star hotel in the Golden City, located in the heart of the Jaisalmer. It has been built for over 200 years and used to be the Palace of the Royal Family. If you choose this property, you can expect to stay with the price/princess, which will definitely make feel like a part of the Royal Family.
Btw, the room was neat and clean, and the museums in the property were also worthwhile to visit.
And there’s a surprisingly good view from rooftop restaurant!
The swimming pool may need some cleaning and the food was good but overpriced.
4.5
The property is amazing, a very nice location with a good rooftop restaurant
Check-in has been really good as well the staff
We had a little issue at the bathroom shower as no hot water was coming (probably the staff forget to switch on and we had to wait more than 30 minutes to shower). The manager come with a solution (it was the third time, third person we complaint about it) and a room change but after switching on for an hour the heater, the hot water come down.
We solve it during the stay.

Staff is very helpful. The location is centric, only 8 minutes walking from Padwa Haveli and Jaisalmer Fort, the only living fort in India.
The food is made fresh so can ask not too spicy.

Building style
the staff which was lazy and wasn’t any help, the cleanliness (many insects in the room)

The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. The dinner at the rooftop was beautiful with the view and music. The room was extremely comfortable.
Being asked by staff if I am single.

Beautiful historic building in great location, walking distance to the fort. Good wifi.
Shower and bathroom could use an upgrade but are functional. Pool could use more regular cleaning.

Loved everything about our stay! The well-preserved and beautifully maintained heritage hotel itself, the courteous and helpful staff, exceptional service, the delicious Rajasthani food with a touch of home cooking and the location in Jaisalmer, everything was perfect. Our stay in Jaisalmer became more special because of where we stayed and the amazing hospitality shown by the Mandir Palace team.
The hotel more than lived up to my expectations. No negatives.

Wifi was not working properly and swimming pool was not clean enough to get in

Room was cramped and low ceiling.

Comfortable bed. Good location. Historic area. Spa and pool are nice.
Rooms, were comfortable but dated. Overall the staff at breakfast, spa etc was super nice but we had a last minute change to our travel plans, and arrived at the hotel the middle of the night.
I had tried calling the hotel several times to see if we could book another night. no one answered. when we arrived we asked if we could take any room (we would of course pay even though it was around 5AM) just to sleep.
We were told there was no rooms available and that we could wait in the lobby. I asked them to call their other hotel to check if they had rooms, they said they were booked as well. I was a little suspicious because the day before there had been available rooms on booking.
Finally later in the morning around 8AM when I asked about upgrading my room, they showed me that room, and I realized there had been several rooms available at the time…. maybe it was a miscommunication but I definitely felt judged arriving with a backpack. Eventually they did give us our room early but it was after a few hours of painfully waiting in the lobby for no reason after not sleeping for 24 hours. I’m à hôtel photographer and see and meet a lot of hotel staff, didn’t feel like this team was especially helpful or welcoming. Also the restaurant’s food was not the best. Definitely way better value in Jaisalmer including something like Desert Boy’s Home Stay which we went to for lunch and we’re welcomed way more than at our hotel.
Again, could have been a communication issues, it was the night staff on when we arrived, and maybe they don’t do check ins as much. However, for the price in India, I kind of expected more.

Beautiful room in a historic aisle of the Maharaja 's palace, in the middle of a museum. Great location at the center of the city close to all animations.

The property is beautiful and very well positioned. You can walk to the fort from here.
The restaurant serves amazing Indian food. We chose to not eat out for dinner throughout our stay. They have an open air dinner scene every night when a pair of local musicians play while everyone eats by the fireside. The restaurant staff is helpful, cheery and very polite. Their service is non intrusive yet efficient and fast. Again, food is just great (a la carte stuff). The dinner area is close to the rooms hence it becomes an activity in itself that guests do through 2-3 hrs while enjoying the fireside music.

character property, decent location,
we booked a golden suite which when we arrive bore no resemblance to what was on their website and was a total misrepresentation of what we expected. we were moved the following day to another suite which was much larger and as shown on booking and the hotel site. after a long discussion I did get a partial refund for the first night.
1.5
This hotel is incredibly dated and the images on booking.com are not true representations. Restaurant is incredibly overpriced and low quality. Was expecting a lot more from this hotel and was greatly disappointed. Worth shopping around as they are far better hotels nearby for same price.

Great hotel, beautiful building with amazing heritage
Could have had a welcome drink and a more traditional welcome since it is a heritage hotel but I wouldn’t let that stop you from booking here. It’s a beautiful property and an incredible experience

Location good, interesting heritage property, clean
Terrible Wi-Fi, no heat in room and they gave us one chintzy old heater for our two room suite so we had to get dressed and use bathroom in cold, breakfast mediocre, cheap towels and dirty floor rugs. Manager and support staff in lobby were not sympathetic to our complaints. Power outages and toilet had to be fixed. Ancient and very few electrical in our large room.
