Very handy location for where I needed to be. Pleasant balcony.

There was an issue with the french windows. Although we tried not to push in the little button, as instructed, it did get knocked when they were closing, so they were stuck shut. I did manage to open them the next day, but we were stuck one hot night with no way to open them. (The underfloor heating, while a nice touch in the cold, did not help when it was so warm, and we couldn't work out how to turn it off!) Finding the keys was quite tricky, as I only had a B&W photo and did not realise that the key safe was padlocked to a bicycle rack. (Perhaps you could add "The key safe is not the one on the wall, but is padlocked to a bike stand" for avoidance of doubt?) I've never seen one like that before and was trying - and failing - to open the one on the wall. Ashton was very kind and helpful when he came out to help, though.

The apartment is lovely, located on a very quiet street in the Jericho area. It is a duplex - something which the listing does not tell you. The 2 bedrooms and bathrooms rooms are located on the first level as you enter the front door and you go up a narrow flight of stairs to a fairly generous living room and compact kitchen. The master bedroom was sizeable and the living area had wonderful sunlight.

I arrived at the apartment at 4pm (an hour later than the 3pm check in time), after waiting around in cafes for most of the day after my flight. To my dismay the apartment had not been cleaned. Very disappointing after a 24-hour journey. Although Neill is listed as the host, it is in fact a company, Pass the Keys, that manages the place. They have a 24-hour phone service for guests which I had to ring three times to get cleaners to come. The service staff were very politely apologetic but it was over an hour before the cleaners finally arrived and cleaned the apartment. The cleaning was cursory and rushed. I later found dirty linen in the washing machine and unwashed plates and cutlery in the dishwasher. The cleaners do their best in what must be a busy schedule but the problem is that there are clearly no checks made by the management. The window ledges were dirty, the sink in the master bedroom was in clear need of plumbing, and equipment was missing remote controls - a TV in the second bedroom with no remote, 3 heating cooling Dyson fans but only 2 remotes, and set of thoroughly chaotic kitchen cupboards full of left over condiments and cleaning equipment; and drawers of cutlery and kitchenware which seemed like they hadn't been cleaned or dusted in a very long time.
