Delicious breakfast. Fantastic friendly hosts. Gorgeous house and setting. So close to the wine trams and village was easy to walk to. Beautiful garden, very peaceful. Fab room/cottage.

Very pretty grounds, great and well equipped accommodation. The attention to detail was superb.

Feels like staying with friends, very homely. Breakfast is outstanding, Erna & Guido are great hosts and basically everything is located within walking distance.

Everything!! Beautiful room and bathroom, comfortable bed, nice private terrace in the back and nice pool for sharing in the front. Every morning we got a delicious breakfast with as highlight the surprise of the day. Last but not least super friendly and welcoming hosts:)

Beautiful setting, a fabulous breakfast served by the pool each morning. The accommodation was ideal for a couple, highly recommended will definitely return.

Excellent breakfasts, cooked by the owner, which are different every day are served in the beautiful garden. The owners of the B & B are from Holland and charming. They have a very positive attitude towards South Africa and have brought their children up there. They kindly made us a packed lunch to take with us on our flight home which was really appreciated as we had a crack of dawn flight and the food on Virgin airlines is truly terrible. The cottage on 55 is very handy for the high street and for transport to the wine tram. It is a gorgeous spot. Franschhooek is in a stunning setting and there's lots to do in and around the town. The Cottage on 55 is an oasis of calm in which to relax after a busy day, with a garden filled with beautiful flowers, attracting many birds. We loved the swimming pool. Franschhoek is a great place.

The curtains were a bit thin so the light comes in very early. The snacks provided in the room were rather unhealthy and not local to South Africa. We would have preferred Biltong etc to have been on offer. Although we didn't mind, the bathroom is open plan to the bedroom.

it was absolutely beautiful. Set in a wonderful garden. The hosts were so friendly. the bed was really comfortable. but most of all the breakfast was probably the best ever. all freshly made.

The room was incredible. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower had great water pressure! Everything was stunning. In the morning the hosts made a massive (and delicious breakfast) and had a lovely chat with all the guests.

A paradise within a paradise! Franschhoek itself is pretty nice and for all wine lovers a paradies. But we immediately felt at home, when we arrived at the Cottage on 55. The hosts are super nice and helpful, the garden is amazing and the room is more than a room, it is a 360 degrees wellbeing place with so many nice and well chosen details, that you immediately settle in and relax. The water quality is excellent from the tub. For me, the best water I ever drank. But this on a side-note.

If I really look hard and try to find something, than I could complain about the bathroom door not closing easily. But come on....this is really a forced effort to find at least a small negative thing. We will definitely come back!

Absolutely fantastic spot in Franschhoek! The accommodation is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and clean. The location is great, as it walking distance to the main street and close to the wine tram terminal. The breakfast was excellent every day, always beautifully presented and with a different surprise of the day (main course) each morning. Erna and Guido were very welcoming and attentive hosts who made us feel right at home from the start. We would highly recommend booking to stay here when in Franschhoek!

At the centre of Franschhoek a very nice and cosy little (2 room) guest house. We stayed in family and it was great. The owners are super cool and interesting, we had great discussions and learned a lot about the country, the region and wine. And great breakfast. The owners are also very engaged in local activities!
