The Bull Hotel was everything I expected and was located perfectly for my visit to family close-by.
There were no dislikes for me.

Location, history of property, staff were friendly and attentive. Bed was actually comfy and room very clean. Breakfast good and much better than the dinner.
Room was not worth the money. My room had a weird smell. Decor tired.

We loved this Hotel from start to finish, we had a lovely lunch in the bar before we booked in and the staff were great, We had room 35 which was also really lovely the only thing I would say is the room was initially cold but the Hotel did provide a Fan heater which made all the difference, It is a big building to heat and its also very old so no surprise it was colder upstairs. The room was beautifully decorated and all the staff were friendly, the bonus was the breakfast you get a good choice of hot breakfasts and there is also a continental choice, plenty of carparking to the front and rear of the Hotel, I will definitely go back, great location too.

The staff here are so incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The layout of the bedroom was very nice and the history of the building was amazing. The thickness off the curtains was very much appreciated.
Our bedroom and bathroom had no heating. The radiator needing bleeding, which we requested, only to be told they knew about it and it was on the list of things to do next week. It was minus 4 outside and not much warmer inside once we turned the fan heater off (due to safety and noise) that was provided. Throughout the night it was like sleeping with a running water feature next to your head because of the broken radiator. If they knew this was a problem in that room, why were we put there?

The period public area's with old world charm
We have stayed in room 32 on many occasions, we particularly like the raised area with comfortable chairs, however it appeared that one had got broken and had not been replaced, surely Greene King has the price of an armchair.

Really friendly staff who went out of their way to help.
Not really a dislike but there are less food menu choices compared to when I last stayed here. Food quality is still great though.

Good size room for the price, excellent selection at breakfast, good value food in the bar.
Service was a little disorganised (breakfast and dinner) and the rooms were very hot. Small car park, but there was parking on the High Street.

A little disappointing in that my omelette was undercooked with the centre quite runny , quite the worst I've had . The chef needs to learn how to cook an omelette properly as its a fundamental dish to cook .
Otherwise the breakfast was up to the standard expected .

Breakfast was very good. Our room was huge and very historic. We had a large bed and sofa great for watching the flat screen TV. No awkward corners plenty of space to move around.
Dinner a little disappointing

The bed,
The breakfast, all dry
The black pudding you could have used it as a brick to build a house
Plus had to wait for about 40 minutes so something wasn't right in the kitchen

Delicious food both at breakfast and dinner. The chef must be complimented and the staff for their excellent service. A lovely atmosphere.
Nothing could have been better, only our room was hot, which wasn't surprising considering the heatwave the country was suffering.
