The house was the perfect size for my family of four and our little Frenchie! The location was very close to the main part of town, you can walk to town with no problem. Will definitely be back!

Everything was neat, clean, and very pet friendly! Marisa was just a call or text away and always willing to assist! The venue is in close proximity to the downtown and restaurants. Very close walking distance or golf cart ride. We would definitely recommend this home to others! Thanks again!

Me and my Redbone coonhound stayed for 2 months. The yard was safe for him and we were minutes from the dog park and walking distance from downtown. What could be better? I slept like a baby every night.

Great location. Easy walk to downtown. The fenced yard was a big plus for our dog. The home was very clean. Plenty of room for a small family.

Great location right near downtown and had a nice large backyard. We found the TV a little difficult to work with; the remote buttons didn't work well. This place would certainly sparkle and shine with a good spring cleaning. The window in the kitchen has not been cleaned in a very long time and the back porch was not usable it was so dirty. Otherwise, it was a nice place.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The house was adorable and in a wonderful location, it was exactly what I was looking for. Had a fenced yard for the dogs, a lovely little back patio area, and a welcoming front porch as well. The only issue I had is that my 30 pound dachshund mix found a space at the bottom of the chain-link fence in the front right corner of the yard and was able to run out, but I quickly recovered him nextdoor. Other than that everything was fantastic and I would love to stay here again.

Place is as advertised but the location is excellent; walking distance to bars, restaurants, shopping, parks, nature trail. Woke up to the sound of seagulls each morning, which is a nice reminder that the coast is near. River is 2 blocks away. Large shaded backyard with lush grass.

The house was cute. It is an older home but it was redone nicely. It creaks and makes a lot of sounds. The neighborhood has some nice homes and some older homes, but it is very quiet and quaint. We enjoyed walking everywhere during our stay.

Perfect spot for seeing downtown. A bit old and beat up, but the shower was great and everything worked. A bit of ice in the freezer would be nice. Thanks for the stay.

The location is close to town.
The house has a nice layout when it was raining I was able to lay on the daybed to read, or look out side and just unwind.

This is a cute little cottage, very well maintained and clean inside. The front and back porches could use some sprucing up, but the weather was not so great so we didn't want to spend any time on the porches anyway. We were grateful to find a place that accepted pets. The location is only a few blocks from town and very quiet. We will definitely stay here again when traveling with our pets.

This is our second visit (when planning a return beach trip, there was no question where we should go/stay). Location, house, beach, food were still amazing second time around.
I would like to share about our stay which seems very different from a previous review. Cleanliness, a sloped floor and damaged screen door were mentioned and both of our experiences were completely different and had absolutely no issues.
Cleanliness: When we arrived Sunday, 8/28/22, the house was spotless. Floors, bathroom, kitchen - all were clean and smelled great. No issue.
Floors: In back part of master, there’s a slight slope in floor. I have a balance disorder and I had no problems at all. Like, none - which I can’t say about our flat floored home! So again, no issue.
Front Porch Screen Door: It was fixed with new screen. Once again, no issue.
As mentioned, we had no issues. The house is located within walking distance to shops/restaurants which made having extra dessert didn’t feel so bad! It’s charming, relaxing and contributed to an amazing vacation.

We knew the house would be small and in town. What we didn’t know is how dirty the place would be. There was so much dirt and dog hair! The rugs, floors, corners, even the windowsills were dirty with dog hair. There is no way this place was cleaned before we got there. The fridge was dirty and smelled of rotten fish. The grime was visible in the fridge drawers were the smell was coming from. There were several open bottles of condiments in the fridge which I thought was very unsanitary. There were ants all over the place including the bathroom. The air in the house is so heavy that I’m sure the walls and floors are full of mold. The bedroom floor sloped so bad that one misstep and you could fall over. There was very little comfortable seating in the living room. The chairs that were there were just gross. We had to cover them with towels. On the plus side-the location was good. There is a washer and dryer in the back which was nice. The beds were ok and the sheets seemed clean. The AC worked. The saying “you get what you pay for” almost holds true. In this situation we got more than we paid for- in the form of lots of dirt and dog hair!

Nice house, but these are things I would like to know before renting a place
The house is nicely decorated, & its in a great location. We love Apalachicola. I loved being able to walk to the downtown area for coffee & shopping, and it’s also right next to the botanical gardens.
I’m not usually one to worry about TV or WiFi on vacation but grandma wanted to stay at the house when the heat/beach was too much for her & our phones did not work without the WiFi. WiFi needed to be reset multiple times a day just for it to work at all, I think it needs to be replaced & hopefully that will fix the issue. When we checked into the house we had Netflix available to us but we were logged out the day before we had to leave & when I had asked the home owner I was told they had no login for us.
The cleanliness of the home was not the greatest. There were no paper towels, & only the very end of one toilet paper roll. As soon as we arrived my husband found grape stems on the floor, my son stepped on a sticky gummy bear that he had to pull off of his foot & unfortunately I ended up finding a few rogue grapes this way also. The refrigerator smelled absolutely awful, like someone left seafood in there to rot. We tried putting a box of baking soda in the refrigerator & freezer and honestly it didn’t help at all. We bought watermelon at a roadside stand and even that was ruined. We wanted to use the oven one night and after turning it on we quickly realized a previous renter must have spilled something on the bottom of the oven & it was never cleaned, we quickly shut it off. I also think the house is having some septic issues, most of the time the house smelled like sulfur. It doesn’t seem like the windows have been cleaned in a while. Lastly, the kitchen faucet was broken, along with the front porch screen, the homeowner stated that the screen was just broken before we arrived and apologized. I completely understand it’s a busy time of the year and renting a house back to back can’t be easy. The homeowner showed up while we were eating breakfast two days prior to our departure date and told me she scheduled the faucet to be fixed when we left and insisted that we were supposed to be leaving that day that’s why she scheduled the Plummer to come. What really bothered me is she then expected the Plummer to come in & fix the faucet while we were eating breakfast and getting ready to leave. She later apologized, but honestly it just added to the uncomfortableness of our stay.

Relaxing Comfort for Us and our Pups
House was quaint, cozy and reminded me of our family beach cottage growing up. Marisa was wonderful and check-in was smooth. (Apologizing now as this review is long but so many things to share...)
There is seriously no way this home could have provided a better, more relaxing time and it's location is amazing. Now, to be honest, I was thinking/wanting to stay on the water. But we/our two pups absolutely loved the amazing fenced yard - (which includes front/back yard and they wouldn't be able to enjoy outside had we stayed elsewhere - pictures just don't do it justice).
We were able to watch them happily play from both front/back screened porches (front porch provided great atmosphere for morning coffee which included a special beach-sounding serenade by a telephone-pole-perched seagull.)
Note: If considering whether to visit Apalachicola with/without pups, I highly encourage them joining the fun. Stores/restaurants welcome leashed pups, most providing treats/water and beaches are dog friendly, too. This home was well suited for our fur babies (and if someone staying before us had four-legged family, we had no idea - home was spotless with no signs of former pups)
There was only one thing - I FINALLY remembered to pack little things which inevitably run out (but full grocery store qty isn't needed) - toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, dish/hand soap, etc.... and first time ever there was already plenty for the week there! I didn't need to waste packing space as house was fully stocked.
Thank you for reading this novel. There are so many other great things about this home but to sum it up... we highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Great place to stay
Located right by down town and a short drive to St. George Island. (On Sundays almost everything is closed in Apalachicola) The front and back yard were fenced in which was great for the dog.

Great space
Lovely house in a sweet quiet neighborhood just a couple of blocks from downtown. Bed super comfy, had all kitchen and house stuff I could need. GREAT fenced yard. I loved having coffee on the tiny back porch. It's a small old beach cottage. I think it'd be perfect for a couple or a few friends. It's not a big family kind of house, but it'd be good for a small family.

Sounds of a slamming screen door
The cottage was clean, the furniture was comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with utensils, pots and pans…everything needed to make a meal. The location was perfect for walking to the restaurants and shops.
The yard was fenced, which made it easy for our dog (and us!) I loved having a screen door….it brought back good memories of my childhood.
