amazing views from our room and lovely staff
The hill up the hostel and the room were very steep however this was disclosed on the website and definitely with the views!

The view
The price of the hostel is not equal to the value of the room. There are a few points that are important to note for those interested in the hostel:
1) The amount of insects at night is huge, it is true that it is Gunjal and this should be expected, but there is no isolation either in the restaurant or in the room from insects, everything is open, there are hundreds of mosquitoes, a huge amount of bugs. It's not comfortable to eat or walk around the hostel at night, you don't want to turn on a light so that insects don't fly over you. There is no effort on the part of the hostel to reduce the amount of insects. 2) Because the hostel is actually on a mountain, you don't want to leave it because otherwise you'd have to climb 15 minutes of stairs. in the heat of 30 degrees.
3) The service is lacking. There is one person who cleans, cooks food and is at the reception. So you wait two hours for food, when it's not the employee's fault, he's just alone.
4) Sometimes there is no water in the shower. I saw that travelers mentioned this about the hostel in the past, but apparently the problem has not been fixed. You turn on water (of course not hot) and in the middle of the shower the water runs out. The service guy said he would go fix it, in the end I waited in the shower for more than 20 minutes. Several times the water did not work.

The one thing we liked at this place it was view.
It was a strange place with strange services.
Also, we forgot the passport when it was check-in..and administrator kept it to 2 days and didn't tell us. Like we could don't check and just leave the place.
The food was not tasty. All place under reconstruction. No, jukuz.
Lot s of mosquitos and stuff didn't offer any repellents to eat dinner normally.
On their pictures, it's amazing.. but in real one is not.

Excellent views amazing staff
The view and the cabin was amazing. A getaway and disconnect unlike no other

very nice view
- There’s no « hostel atmosphere » hard to meet people. Not a good place for solo travelers.
- the bed are shivering every time someone is working in the dorms (bottom dorms). Very annoying.
- only bathroom is downstairs, a bit annoying to use the stairs all the time

This was an incredible hostel! The views were incredible and the staff very accommodating. We stayed in the shared dorm the first night and then a private cabin the second. I would definitely recommend trying for a private cabin as it was so picturesque and like something out of a movie!
Natalia at reception was very helpful and helped us with our transport. Kenet in the bar was very very nice! He went above and beyond to try and make the stay as good as possible for us and has great music taste!
There are a lot of steps and steer inclines. Not necessarily a bad thing but just to be aware.

the location and the views are incredible. we stayed whilst a hostel near by had a festival and it was really peaceful. nice place to just chill for a few days. can stay here and go to the parties in the area.
the food from the restaurant was your only option really. unless you wanted to get a taxi somewhere else. the food was pretty standard.

it was a beautiful view!
the stairs were horrible to go up and down

it was very clean, and nice facilities.
the 70^ degrees uphill battle every time you would go up to your dorm. Way too steep. If you’re a bit fat you will die.

The views were outstanding. Very helpful and hospitable staff.
Tough hill to climb to your room, but definitely worth it if you're in shape to handle it.

Beautiful scenery, beautiful rooms and clean beautiful wash facilities.
It was a mission to get to our rooms. We did not expect a 20 mins steep steep walk/hike to rooms.
0.5 / 5.0
The view but that’s the only thing.
1. if you are in the dorm, you share only 1 bathroom and toilet for the all dorm around 15 people. 🚽
2. To go to the toilet from you bed you have to go down a floor behind. 🧻🚾
3. bathroom is located in front of the reception so you have to face everybody if you want to shower. 🚿🫣
4. are lockers with closing a system inside but it’s not working because they are not able to find the good keys. 🔐
5. The place is located up a hill, you have to walk very steep climb for 5min with backpack it can be very difficult depending on your physical condition. 😫
6. Breakfast was just ok but more expansive than average. ☕️
7. They are doing construction work so I was awakened around 7am by very loud noises. 💥
8. The photos on booking are not representing the reality of the place, many areas are not finished or bad. 📸
9. The jacuzzi is not well maintained and really does not make you want to get in. 🤢
10. Natalia at the reception is not nice and not a good a representative of the kindness of the Colombian people.
11. The beds are cover with a mosquito net which is a nice idea but the net is 50 cm above your head which make it very claustrophobic. Also to get in your bed is a nightmare, moreover if you are on the bed above. 🛌
12. They try to charge you for every little things. They charge a person 2 times for a night in a bed because he was not the one sleeping in his bed. In fact, he had two bookings so he shared the booking with a friend. they did not accepted that and charge 2 people for a bed 👏
13. I tried to pay with cash but they did not have any cash so I had to pay with the card +5%. 💸

Room nice, staff lovely, amazing views but still could’ve done a lot more to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable, they are seriously missing a trick. The view throughout the day is incredible, and the room we stayed in was pretty epic, nice size and had a hammock too. The doggies and cats were lovely too!
Only 60% of the food was available on the menu throughout the day and night. The walk up is hard even if you’re fit, they need to do more to make this easier and get the luggage up and down quicker. Not much in the way of activities available, they could really do more with this place, has massive potential. Some construction works going on and needs maintenance in areas as timber rails and floor panels weak and/or broken in areas. If you’re not steady on your feet or unfit then this hotel is not for you.

The view is incredible! I didn't mind the climb up the hill to get that view. :) It's also possible to walk to a very lovely beach in 20-25 min. The walk is mostly down a dirt road and I enjoyed it.
As a solo traveler, I felt like an odd person out. It's not very social. They don't have many bathrooms, and the ones they do have aren't very private. There's also not much hangout space--only the restaurant and the reception area, but no real chill area.

Beautiful breathtaking location! Good breakfast, friendly staff.
Know that you are in nature, so mosquitoes are definitely present.
2.5 / 5.0
-Nice view from up there you can watch the birds that is really cute
-You sleep directly in the nature
-Cute dog and cats and a really nice cleaning lady
-Change the sheets everyday and the beds are comfortable and the Moskito net is really helpful
First of all I arrived later than 6pm and they knew that but didn’t respond on the phone. I carried all my stuff up there alone and then there was nobody at the reception so I had to go to the restaurant and he called somebody.
I woke up in the middle of the night because of the dog and then stayed awake because people woke up and walked in the dorm and when someone walks your whole bed moves that is really annoying.
So I didn’t get much sleep the first night but the next night it was just me and the worker so it was fine but this hostel is so quiet there are not many people so not for solo travelers and people who want to socialize.
Also going up there is really steep but well the good thing is the view.
The last thing was that the worker wanted to charge me more than 4$ more for the breakfast and “miscounted” three times so be careful.

The views are spectacular and the rooms were very well kept. Basic but very clean. Food was good and the staff were lovely, and even helped us to arrange transport and carried one of our bags to the room once we were at reception.
Loud music from a property next door made it difficult to sleep even with ear plugs…. but it is Colombia and was Saturday night so to be expected a little. As other reviews have mentioned the driveway is STEEP and narrow and the stairs once you reach the hostel are no joke - this is not an accessible property for anyone with mobility issues.

great view and cozy atmosphere, shared dorms are comfortable
the main entrance is after a 5 minute walk by a very inclined way
3.5 / 5.0
The views here are absolutely stunning but you have to earn them. You basically have to hike up a steep hill for 20 minutes to get to your room. The rooms are huge cabins. Nice cargo net to take photos on.
cold shower, limited food choice, no atmosphere. Steep hike to get to the rooms, restaurant or down to the main road, you don't want to leave.

We liked the hostel, it is well located, relatively close to the beach on foot. they have a great view, the beds are pretty clean
If what you are looking for is to rest, I would recommend renting a private room since the shared room has many beds and when it is busy people are usually noisy, they walk quite hard and since the floor is made of wood you feel how your bed moves and it can be quite annoying If what you want is to rest, the neighbors are also a bit noisy and play loud music until late at night

The stay was very relaxed with a great view on the surrounding area.
The meals served by the friendly staff were really delicious and I enjoyed them during music on their terrace.

The view is amazing, the climb wasn't as bad as i thought. The staff is super friendly it had one really nice shower. The view is absolutely amazing! Especially when there's a thunder storm. It's a chill place to just relax by yourself
I love the dogs but they baked all night then early in the morning, the staff did attempt to quiet them so that was nice. The cleaning lady made way too much noise in the morning hitting the states and beds while stopping and mopping.

A bit dirty and the access was not easy.

Absolutely beautiful view, the nicest of any hostel I've ever been to. Would recommend watching the sunset from the net hammock beside the bar. Food was tasty, not too pricey and there was a variety of options to choose from. Free coffee was a plus! Really really underrated hostel I would recommend it to anyone - best part was the staff who were so nice and helpful always.
The hill is HUGE to get up but only lasts like 4/5 mins and then you're there. Maybe would be nice to have a pre arranged option to help carry bags up
