Wonderful location with a pool, access to private beach, and close to so many other outdoor activities. Host provided plenty of information about the property and the surrounding area. She would make sure all of our needs were met.

Okay but house is outdated.

The location is awesome, great/safe neighborhood, shortish walk to beach. The pool was the gem of the entire trip! Fun water slide and diving board make the backyard an oasis. We love Muskegon and the location was ideal to access our favorite spots. We had everything we needed for a comfortable, restful trip. We would consider staying here again.

It's a fabulous place for a family outing...could fix the deck so as not to get splinters...The pool is a great plus with the house. I would suggest a book that sits in the entryway of all the rules of the rental and what's in the area instead of notes everywhere. We had a wonderful stay with our family.....But...the host is condescending and speaks too much about how much she spends on her repairs. She also seems very distrustful and told us several times the property manager would be down to count the people...never came??? We're in our 60's...it's not like we were trying to cheat her. All in all if you didn't have to deal with Sheila it would be a great experience.

Loved this home. Close to beaches, parks and shopping. Enjoyed seeing turkeys and deer close by. Host was super accommodating.

Excellent location with easy access to Norton Shores, Muskegon and Grand Haven. Nice neighborhood, excellent pool and super responsive owner. Sheila was wonderful to deal with.

Second stay at this property. And once again it did not disappoint. Pool is very well maintained and the diving board and slide are an added bonus. Checkin and communication with owner are easy. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Was a great way to spend time with the grandkids. Loved that there were enough bedrooms that they had their own rooms….allowed them their own space for down time and privacy. Hoping to rent again next year.

We had a great time. Teaches in the area are beautiful and we enjoyed the pool. The grandkids loved all the wildlife in the neighborhood.

We had to change our dates on the front end due to our neighbor’s death, and waiting until his family arrived. The owner was most accommodating and offered the 3 days on the back end.Which we took her up on right away. Our intentions of our trip was attending my father’s Birthday.Instead it turned out my father passed away. The owner began was keeping in touch with me as she was a grieving counselor so she stated. Being my father’s POA I was quite busy meeting with funeral director closing up his apt etc… I had my husband dealing with owner of property who was now requesting making of new keys for the property, sending overnight to her(but did not give us her address) tho believed she did.Requesting pics of her pool cover, then asking for payment for the extra nights we stayed? On the day of the viewing. On the day of my father’s funeral she demanded on us to leave because she was dealing with her own grief and had been most kind to us for allowing us to stay for free. We had not paid anything extra! What?we stayed 10 nights so far paid the fee of $2000.00 plus tax plus her cleaning fee. We were staying one extra night which she had texted originally stay as long as you want no other renters are booked! On her. Then she started asking for money, telling me she did not want my husband calling her,I did not overnight her the keys, threatened to drive up from CHicago, the night before the funeral, she was allowing me to stay out of the goodness of her heart. She knew I was dealing with a lot with my siblings and she was praying for me but I was taking advantage of her! I have no idea where this was coming from. She finally gave us her address my husband overnighted the keys we paid to have copied for her, paid to overnight for her, we did stay 11 nights. So we owe for one more night less the overnight shipping and keys being made which came to $62.00. So I guess we still owe her another $138.00. We will agree to mail her a check in this amount. But we do not owe another week of cleaning fees, or another week of staying. She accidentally sent me a text meant for her property manager stating she asked us to leave we agreed to leave so the “PAYING” guests could check in as soon as we are out and the house is cleaned. When she had offered the house to us at no cost we would not accept and stated we would only stay and pay! So if we had stayed longer we had every intention of paying for the nights we stayed beyond our original contract. I have saved all texts

We stayed at this home a full week in August, and spent the majority of our time on the spacious back deck and in the pool. The pool was clean and clear the entire time. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the house has an over-abundance of linens, blankets and towels, including beach towels.
The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and had a lot of wild turkeys and other wildlife that provided us with daily entertainment..
Nearby Muskegon has an awesome beach (Pere Marquette), and is, so far the best beach we've been to on Lake Michigan. Grand Haven and Holland are pretty close driving distance and offer a great variety of shopping and eating establishments.
The owner was friendly and attentive and was quick to respond to our questions.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so appreciate Sheila sharing her home with us.

We had a fun stay at Sheila’s place for my dad’s 70th birthday celebration. The pool was clean and fun and we enjoyed visiting all the nearby beaches.
4.7
We specifically rented this home because of the in ground pool and it did not disappoint. The pool is large and well maintained. The slide and diving board were big hits with the kids. The home was spacious and well stocked. Sheila was very prompt in responding to our booking request and questions. Our only disappointment was there was not a fire pit to make s’mores. We will definitely be considering renting here again.

Great proximity to Muskegon, Grand Haven and other Michigan lake towns. Several secluded beaches within walking distance (for most) as well as short (~10 minutes) drive to Pere Marquette, PJ Hoffmeister beaches. The combo of pool and beach was perfect.
The kitchen is very well stocked with supplies to cook any meal. The wifi was spotless even with 5 phones, a laptop and an x-box running. Sleeping was great - the beds and linens were comfortable all around. The plentiful bath and pool towels were appreciated.
The pool and deck were our basecamp for the week. Tall trees all around and very quiet setting made for heavenly floating, grilling, splashing, diving and sliding!

Perfect for our group!
This house has everything we needed for a fabulous week on the lake! The local beaches were beautiful and having the pool literal steps out the back door made our trip memorable! Sheila is amazing to work with and was gracious and a great communicator!

Very Accommodating
Of course we would like our vacations to run smoothly and seamless but reality does call for a few hiccups. The reason I gave this property 5 stars is not because it was perfect but for the efforts of Sheila to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. The pool looked like it was not serviced in weeks. Not Sheila's fault, the pool company was not honoring the contract. Sheila lives in another state and must rely on the contracted people to do their job. Once Sheila found out the issue, someone was there within the hour to clean the pool. The listing mentioned TV. There was one TV, no cable or antenna. So just static. The Apple TV was missing. Sheila made this situation right. The reason I chose this property was the size and the accommodation of pets. This was all perfect. My 14 year old yorkie loved exploring the fenced in yard. The house had plenty of towels, cleaning supplies etc. Things I would normally bring with me to rental homes. I brought extra and it was already there. The 2 bikes in the garage was a nice touch. The tire pumps worked fine. The location was perfect. Everything was close and easy to navigate. All in all everything worked out great. I would highly recommend this listing to others. Sheila was great and very accommodating. One thing stuck me funny, I own a 3 bedroom tri-level like this house and have the exact same tile in the foyer and downstairs bathroom. Coincidence?

The pool was never ready for swimming the entire time we were there. We only rented this property because it had a swimming pool. The property does not have wifi - unless you have Infinity in which case one can use the property as a hot spot, or if a password had been available, there may have been wifi available. While the house is nice, it is not well maintained either inside or outside. The best rooms were the living room and the dining room and all the beds were comfortable.. I don't think this property was ready for renters. There was wet laundry in the washer and dirty laundry in a pile next to the washer, plus the pool was dirty!.

We stayed at this house in mid August and really enjoyed our time here. The house sits in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the neighborhood association's beach. It is also a short drive to Pere Marquette Park Beach, which was our favorite beach we visited. The house is also about 20 minutes from Grand Haven, which also has a huge beach and a nice downtown. The downtown area of Muskegon is also a short drive away. They have a great farmers market and a couple of good restaurants. We really liked 2 Rad Dads Taco Bar and Fricano's down on the lakefront. The neighborhood is home to wild turkeys and deer which we saw each time we left the house. The first morning we awoke to a family of five baby turkeys walking through the backyard. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. It does not have cable TV or wifi, which was fine since we were at the beach or in the backyard pool most of the time. The beds were soft and comfortable. The house was well stocked with lots of beach towels, blankets, etc. The owner Sheila called me the first night of our stay to see if we had any questions. She was very friendly and easy to work with. If we get back to the Norton Shore/Muskegon area, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great pool for older children
Very clean home, very comfortable bedding, and more towels and linens than I've ever seen. Well supplied, even pantry items on a "use and replace" system. Great communication with Sheila. Only negative is while the pool is very clean and VERY big, I would caution anyone with littles--it has diving board and slide so it gets very deep very quick, only about 1/3 is "shallow" and there was no dividing rope--I would be very afraid to bring young children or anyone who isn't a strong swimmer.

I really enjoyed the house and the all the amenities available. Kitchen was well stocked. The beds were great and very comfortable, however Shelia the owner was a bit intrusive. She called me when we were on our way, which was fine. She was recommending a Christian camp near by. Then after I got off the phone with her she sent me 12 text messages of the rules and recommending the Christian camp again. She asked me to confirm these texts, I did and asked where the private beach is. She called and demands to speak to my husband, because women do not know directions well! She demands for his phone number. She talks to my husband, sends him a bunch of text messages about the Christian camp then she proceeds to tell us in addition to the pool person coming twice a day, a house manager comes twice a day unannounced, and her husband was going to come up too. He never did, but her communication is a bit over baring. At least after the first day, she left us alone. I hope for future reservations that she eases up a bit and give the guests so more privacy.

Great Vacation
Our vacation to Norton Shores was great. This rental was in a convenient, peaceful location. The home was spacious and easily accommodated our group. Outside was a large deck and nice propane grill as well as an awesome below ground pool. The owner even supplied beach towels. Inside was a wood burning fireplace and new leather furniture to enjoy a nice fire on a chilly night. The dining room table sat six and was perfect for playing family games. We brought our favorites but some are provided. Furniture in the living room was new and the room was bright and cheery. Just a few blocks away is Lake Harbor Park which was perfect for watching a sunset over Lake Michigan. Wild turkey, deer and monarch butterflies were an added touch to this wonderful home. We wIll definitely stay here again.

A family weekend
Our time at this house was a "home away from home!" Sheila and George made sure we had everything we needed to have a great time. The house was stocked with so many things (dishes/cookware, plenty of towels/bedding, an awesome grill, and even a mini fridge!) The pool was lovely, and our kids would only get out to eat and sleep! The location of the house is also perfect. It's on a quiet street with many places to walk and jog with access to some great trails on and along the beach. It is also a short drive to conveniences if you leave anything at home, or if you want to enjoy an ice cream cone at the local shop! The amount of space in the house for family and guests is incredible and the pictures don't do it justice. The beds are SO comfortable. It was one of the top 3 most comfortable places we have slept when away from home. If you like nature, be ready to see it. There is wildlife everywhere - even right out front! We saw deer, birds, turkeys and caterpillars/butterflies to name a few. We will definitely be back to this wonderful home to make more memories!!
