This home is unbelievably beautiful. The decor is absolutely outstanding. The owners are gracious and caring. We loved sitting and watching the sunsets while sipping a martini. The property was as good as advertised. Unique home that was spotless. Incredible ocean views throughout. Steps from beach. 5-10 minute drive from anywhere you'd want to go in La Jolla. And, Geoff was easy to get a hold of and very helpful with check-in info.

This was perfect for a getaway with our adult children- plenty of room and so much nearby. The ocean is just steps away and made for constant people and surfer watching. Loved our stay!

A very special home in a fabulous location. I live nearby and rented the home for our extended family that were visiting for the holidays. They absolutely loved the home and amazing beach location. We hope to do it again soon.

This home is breathtaking. The views from the front of the house are perfect. The house itself has so many artistic details. We spent many moments taking in the ocean and snuggled into chairs reading and laughing at the table with a game night. Loved every minute.

Great experience! The host and his wife are very kind upon check in and through our entire stay. They were not only accommodating but also super helpful in giving us recommendation on where to shop and dine. We loved the property as well, my husband really loved the books as they have a great book selection! They have a full kitchen with everything you can think of… from the basic coffee machine to all the cooking seasons and utensils. Only thing is bring your own toiletry as there were none provided.

Zen like interior and exterior. The owners were wonderful. Sitting outside on the ocean side patio eating breakfast at sunrise or dinner at sunset was magical. Look forward to returning,

House was fantastic. Location is great, house is more beautiful than posting pictures. Opening windows and doors lets in great ocean breeze and sounds of crashing waves. Everything worked, no issues during stay….would definitely stay again.

What a special place! The views are stunning, the house is uniquely adorable, and the hosts could not be better! Loved their recommendations for dinner (especially Harry’s (diner) and George’s at the Cove (nice)). The little touches within the house are lovely if you can drag yourself off the patio overlooking the ocean. Definitely recommend!

This is an amazing and luxurious house, a very special place to stay. Jaw dropping ocean views and the constant sound of waves. Also a great place (WindanSea) to people dog/watch, see the expert surfers and an occasional dolphin (yep, we saw some!). Our small well behaved dog was also in heaven. Lots of beach walks and yummy local food. Thank you to the owners who obviously take care of this special vacation home. We hope to return!

Photos don’t do this property justice! The setting is picturesque- beautiful location on the ocean! The home is very clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. You can’t beat the view and the close proximity to coffee shops, restaurants, and nearby Downtown SanDiego. The host was responsive and so accommodating! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

This home is total perfection! The view and home cannot be put into words, it is that nice!!! Location, amenities, and most of all the gracious host. This home is a zen retreat with the ocean right at your finger tips. We woke to the rolling waves and pro surf scene every morning., sipping our coffee by the pacific and marveling at the surfers abilities. We enjoyed the private garden, deep spa-like hot tub & fire pit in the evenings. The expanse of windows, fun Frank-Lloyd Wright architectural vibe and location made this stay a true 5 star experience.

The hosts were wonderful and made some great recommendations for places to eat and shop in the area. The home was comfortable and the perfect size for 4 adults to cook meals & enjoy the epic views. We really enjoyed the outdoor spa in the evenings. It was quite large and deep. We had a fun movie night as well. All around a great place to call home away from home!

Our 40th Anniversary celebration was a huge success due much in part to the wonderful accommodations. Located on the ocean, we were able to enjoy both the beach and the breathtaking sunsets. Moreover, its close proximity allowed us excellent access to the surrounding areas shops, bars and restaurants. The place itself was clean and very well maintained and had everything one would want in their own home. I would most certainly recommend it to anyone looking to get away with family and/or friends!!

What a spectacular perch. Great people and sea watching from the deck. All the necessary amenities for a perfect stay.. Separate “crow’s nest” bedroom suite upstairs is wonderful and private. Great location and walkable to coffee shops & more. Architectural delights abound.

This home exceeded our expectations--it is simply stunning. In the last 12-months, we've stayed at the Four Seasons Sensei in Lanai, the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur (one of those ridiculously priced $3k/night waterfront cottages that accommodates only two people, but, admittedly, had an outdoor tub overlooking the ocean), and a 5-star lux resort in Santa Monica (that I can't remember the name, but it's beachfront and has a beautiful lobby) and this was, hands down, my favorite. It's decor is reminiscent of Post Ranch Inn, with abundance of warm woods and understated, low key elegance. The key differences being that this home could fit six people comfortably, accepted my senior 75-lb dog, and had the coolest art that is Asian influenced, including carved sliding doors that looked laser cut, so cool. For renters: you might want to go out for lunch and stay in at dinner. After eating out the first night, we canceled all dinner reservations because we realized that one of the great pleasures of this home is sitting on your private patio, sipping wine/beer, and watching the sun slowly set over the Pacific, with the sound of crashing waves lulling you into contentment. It's easy to eat in because they have an outdoor grill that has high heat, so grilling steaks and fish took little time (a gourmet grocery store is a four minute drive away) and a very nice range (easy to saute veggies and roast some potatoes). Our last night we Doordashed from Din Tai Fung (like room service, but way less pricey than 5-star resorts and you're eating top tier Taiwanese food). We did have a plumbing issue that was addressed by Geoff (the owner) and Yolanda (the house manager), as promptly as they could, which was much appreciated. They're both very nice and responsive. We interacted with Yolanda more and she deserves a shout out as she is warm, knowledgable, detail-oriented and welcoming. Usually, plumbing issues would put a damper on my vacation, but this home is just that beautiful that once the issue was resolved, we just sipped wine and watch the sunset, and all was well with the universe again. If I had any constructive feedback, it would be a few more coffee/tea mugs with handles and maybe a few beer glasses. And that's it to my "criticism." Every person on this trip (my spouse and my in-laws) said nicely done booking this home. If we did not live so far away, I'd rent this house again in a heartbeat. It was worth every penny.

Everything went perfectly for our first stay with VRBO. The home met all of our expectations and exceeded them. The location and view of Windansea Beach could not have been better. We were about 8 minutes from the dining on Prospect Street (where parking is an adventure in and of itself) and close to CVS and VONS so that we could do our shopping. Close to Mission Beach and Torrey Pines. Absolutely a wonderful and very special place to stay.

Everything about this place was perfect for a long weekend getaway for my family (5 of us), and our Golden Retriever! The house is unique and luxurious with so much attention to detail and plenty of outdoor space for dining, grilling, people watching, staring at the beach and surfers, sitting around the fire pit or hanging out in the hot tub. The beautiful beach is just steps away! The location is perfect for exploring LaJolla, but honestly, we were so content hanging out at the house because it was just that beautiful! It is very clean and comfortable with high end accessories and appliances. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were! We loved opening up all the doors to let feel and hear the ocean! A huge comfortable dog bed and bowl were provided for our 4-legged family member! Geoff and Ianna were great with communication and Yolanda made sure we had everything we needed upon check in. If you are considering staying here, just book it, you will not be disappointed!

If you want ocean views, this is your place. The completely private courtyard has a comfortable hot tub. You can easily people-watch, but it doesn’t feel busy, or like you’re on display in the house. We loved this house so much we booked it in February and then again in April. Beach access is literally right across the street. The beach isn’t too rocky - nice sand beach. The bathrooms have large showers and plenty of room to put all your toiletries etc. The neighborhood is pretty quiet, but street parking can be hard to come by during the day. This home can easily accommodate a large SUV in the driveway, but you’d be hard pressed to park two cars side by side. Sometimes, food delivery can take a long time, so order enough in advance if you plan to do that. There are many nice restaurants within short driving distance. The beds are comfortable, but not quite as soft as we prefer (we have a Purple 3 at home). The couches and chairs could use a little more lumbar support, but there are plenty of pillows to find a comfortable seating position. And those are really the only things I’d change; and those are really just personal preference.

Great place to stay, especially with family. Gorgeous views and incredible courtyard with hot tub and fire pit. Property manager/host extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
