Gorgeous home in a safe neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Communication with Ron was easy and the home is 10-15 minutes from everything our group wanted to explore. 12/10 experience.

Very nice location in San Diego with most highlights within just 15-20 minutes driving. Beautiful large living area which can be fully opened towards the large terrace to enjoy view on Mission Bay the whole day. Also the kitchen is well stocked and the host is very friendly and welcoming.

Stayed here for about a week and loved the area, particularly being able to eat out on the porch and look out into the bay. We were even able to see the nightly fireworks from SeaWorld across the bay which was an added bonus. The interior layout of the house is really nice with a big open kitchen/dining/living area great for gathering and hanging out. Lots of little high end touches all over place like the super fancy shower and amazing repurposed dining room table. Check in was a breeze and Ron was available any time we needed him. Would highly recommend staying here, especially for families or couples. :)

This was a perfect home. The home itself is beautiful and masterfully done. It is truly the owner's second home, so the high end work and amenities are wonderful. The view itself is worth the stay. The back deck was my favorite spot all week. The owner's communication was great throughout. The Neighborhood is wonderful. The Neighbors are friendly and kind. Likewise, It is a perfect location for anything in San Diego and the surrounding area. It is in the middle of everything. 10-15 minutes has you anywhere from Downtown, the ballpark, the beach, the zoo, La Jolla, and shopping. As I am sure so many people do, we rely on the reviews to tell us what the pictures can't . One review that stood out to me, someone stated in their review "Stop looking and just stay here"....that is actually what convinced me and I can't tell you how many times that echoed in my head throughout our week. This was the place everyone should stay! Thank you for opening your home up to us and others. It is the perfect VRBO for a San Diego stay.

My family loved our stay at this house. Short drives to the beach, zoo, and most other places. We loved the fireworks every night and the view during the day. Being able to open the doors and have the breeze was such an amazing bonus. We could never do that at our home on the east coast! We highly recommend this house! Host was great with communication.

This was our first time in San Diego and Ron’s home was a perfect place to stay for the week. Easy on street parking, gorgeous views from the balcony/terrace, lovely kitchen and bedrooms made this home a home away from home for our family of 6! Ron was easily reached for questions. My family of three enjoyed this beautiful home for a week. Everything was exactly as described. Lots of parking. Close to the beach, but not too close. There is a gourmet kitchen (ie no microwave) that is fun to cook in. We reached out to Ron for a question and received a quick response. We would recommend staying here.

We spent six nights at this comfortable and well appointed home. It was only 20 minutes to anywhere you wanted to go in the town. The house is well equipped with expansive views toward the water. Ron was very responsive to an issue we identified, he resolved it quickly, and communication was great throughout. Highly recommend this home for people who want to get a taste of San Diego and some of the surrounding Beach areas

The photos of this home do not do it justice - it is even more awesome in person! The expansive back patio was very relaxing and has an amazing view, and we even got to see the fireworks from Sea World each night! The beds and pillows were very comfortable.
For those of you who like to cook, the house is fully stocked with spices and herbs that you are free to use, and there are even some fresh herbs growing outside on the patio! The kitchen is amazing with top of the line appliances. We used the gas grill on the patio a few times as well.
Ron is as amazing host - very friendly and prompt with returning messages. Ron seems eager to make sure guests are happy and satisfied. He's a Jimmy Buffett fan so you know he has to be a good guy!
Finally, we really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. You need to park on the side of the street but there was always ample parking so that was never a problem. We were not too far of a drive away from any of the attractions we visited. This house proved to be a great "base camp."
Please do not hesitate to rent this home - you will not be disappointed!

This is a wonderful home that has been beautifully updated. From the minute you walk in the door you see the amazing view of the bay and the oversized deck. This is the perfect home for entertaining or just hanging out with family and friends. The host, Ron, provided detailed info about the property and was available if any assistance was needed. You can tell the home has been cared for w/attention to every detail. I highly recommend - great location, great house, and great host!

I was looking for a home close to everything, that was safe for my traveling family. This home is GORGEOUS! It was spacious, has beautiful views, the patio is incredible, the kitchen was a dream and Ron was easy to communicate with. This property was just as good if not better than advertised. it is in a great location, just a 5-10 minute drive from pretty much everything. Wonderful view off the back patio, very clean and inviting and has pretty much anything you would need to vacation comfortably. If/when we come back to SD this is a place I would be more than willing to stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The open floor plan is very spacious and welcoming. The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you need to cook and enjoy meals. Comfortable beds in the 3 bedrooms, and the shower in the master bath is amazing! Our favorite part was the deck with views of the bay. Perfect for relaxing with morning coffee or enjoying a meal al fresco. Highly recommend this property!

My USMC son, currently stationed at Camp Pendleton, had 10 days leave and wanted to do all the touristy things in San Diego (Sea World, USS Midway, Birch Aquarium, La Jolla sea lions, San Diego Zoo) when we came to visit. This house was absolutely perfect for the 3 of us! Everything was accessible within a 15 minute drive, including the airport. The house had everything we could want and the neighborhood was fantastic, both for parking and evening walks. We made evening fires in the firepit and enjoyed morning coffee on the deck. If we came to the area again, I wouldn't even consider a different place and would simply book this one again.

This house is just absolutely wonderful! Well stocked, beautiful unparalleled views of the bay, just gorgeous. Ron happened to be there when we checked in, he showed us around, gave our dogs lots of love, and then gave us all the privacy we expected. The neighborhood has a great off-leash dog park, and our host also told us about the Fiesta Island off-leash area. We cannot say enough good things about this house and neighborhood! Nicely situated for so many attractions. If this house is available, RENT IT!

This was our first extended stay somewhere and we found ourselves feeling at home at the Hartman House. Ron communicated well and timely, and his house was as described. The neighborhood is quiet with friendly neighbors. The location is excellent and we found most places we wanted to go were 20 minutes or less from his house. We were pleased to find somewhere that allowed us to bring our dogs, and we found Hartman House to be very dog friendly (including a dog park less than a mile away). Ron was very flexible as we had to shift our dates a bit and we found him wonderful to work with. We highly recommend Ron’s place!

We are a family of 7 on our first trip to San Diego. We LOVED the Bay Ho neighborhood for easy proximity to La Jolla, downtown San Diego, and Coronado. The neighborhood is quiet and very safe. The house was perfect for us and the deck outside was spacious with an amazing view! Our kids loved that they could see the Sea World sky tower lit up like a christmas tree each night!

I stayed here with my parents to celebrate the holiday. Ron’s house is so beautiful! And the location is amazing - central to everything, a view of sunsets over mission bay, fireworks from sea world, places to walk and enjoy all the local attractions. I met several of the neighbors, and they were incredibly kind! Ron was so communicative, giving tips for all the sights, and accommodating any of our needs. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

When we decided we wanted to have a Thanksgiving get away to San Diego with some friends one of our goals was to find a house that embraced everything San Diego. Ron’s has perfectly met that goal! With modern amenties, fantastic kitchen, and incredible views of Mission Bay. We visited everything thing San Diego had to offer and never drove more than 25 mins from the house. Ron kindly offered his condiments, papers goodies, and even some beer/wine this only saved a ton of money on the little things that you normally have to buy. The communication and flexibility was second to know making the trip stress free for everyone.

We have been coming to San Diego for over two decades to vacation and this home is our favorite. While the pictures on the listing are fantastic, in person the home is even more amazing! First of all, the view is incredible. Spent mornings sipping coffee on the deck and afternoons playing cards while admiring the view. The accordion door that opens up the whole living area is spectacular! House is very well stocked. I wasn’t going to cook that much but couldn’t resist the kitchen. Top end appliances and everything you need to make a delicious meal. All of the beds were so so comfortable. Great water pressure and lovely bathrooms. Plenty of street parking. Quiet, peaceful neighborhood super close to beaches and La Jolla. Ron, the owner, is wonderful and check in/out was super easy. We will be back for sure!!

To start, our host, Ron, asked if we wanted an early check-in which we were thrilled to receive since we were arriving early. His home is well stocked, very comfy, has great views and an amazing large combined dining room-living room and kitchen. We had a wonderful time and look forward to the next time we can rent this gorgeous home!

The house suited our needs well, and location was great for all the fun places to see in and around San Diego! Close to beaches, Sea World, Lego Land, the Zoo, and traffic was not terrible! A school park was in walking distance too. Kitchen was fantastic, everything you could want! There were some items left in the fridge that previous guests must have left that were going bad, so we tossed those in the trash right when we got there. The master bedroom was lovely, but the 2 extra bedrooms had little air flow, and was hard to keep those rooms cool in August. Also, second full bath, the toilet did not work well the whole trip, so we just had the kids use the half bath near the front door.
All things considered, our family of 5 had a great time! We are grateful to finally get our kids to an ocean after no travel for years. Thanks Ron for sharing your place!

Can't say enough good things about our stay here.. The house was perfect for us with plenty of room and great location.. If you're apprehensive in any way about not having a garage to park your car in, don't be.. it's a great neighborhood that's really quiet I felt like we didn't even need to lock our doors or roll up the windows.. Spending time on the deck enjoying the weather/view was the most relaxing part of my time.. Also, the owner is super friendly and made everything easy for us to get in and out I highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful time. We went to the beach and boardwalk, the dog-friendly beach, Old Town, and the San Diego Zoo. We are from Phoenix, so the cool mornings and evenings were appreciated. We also watched fireworks from the deck on the 3rd and 4th of July.

This was our second stay here and the house did not disappoint. We were in town for 5 days and couldn’t imagine staying at a hotel. The views of Mission Bay are impressive and we love the quiet neighborhood. We had a few local friends visit us and it is such a great space to do that. This place is amazing! The views are spectacular! It was very quiet and in a great location. We were 15 minutes away from the zoo, little italy, airport, Torrey pines, La Jolla, Coronado.
Very nicely decorated and well equipped. The kitchen was a delight and had everything you needed. We had a small bbq with friends and lit the outdoor fire pit and enjoyed the fireworks that we could see across the bay from sea world.
We will definitely be back when visiting my son and will pass it on to other friends! Thank you Ron.

We gathered for a birthday. Ron was very helpful since we were planning a party from 2000 miles away giving us advice on catering and groceries etc. the house was perfect and absolutely beautiful! He was very responsive when we had questions. It’s already been suggested that we rent it again and folks at the party asked for the link to the property.

A friend and I had a girls' week here. Even with some of the worst weather San Diego has seen in forever, we had a great time. Ended up spending most of our time at the property. Very well supplied while a local grocery delivery filled in our snacks. Beautiful, interesting artwork and very comfortable accommodations. Only wanted for a reading lamp or two for these old eyes at night. Arrived late at night. Entry was smooth but a light highlighting the address would have saved annoyances to neighbors, I'm sure. There was some interior construction next door but that should be finished soon. Neighbors we met on the street were very nice. Patio and views are spectacular

This was the perfect place for my nephew, and his daughter and I. We each had our own bedroom. This home is equipped with everything you could possibly want, and it is beautifully decorated with incredible views of Mission Bay. It is centrally located just north of San Diego near La Jolla close to most areas you want to visit during your stay in San Diego. I would definitely return.

The Hartman House was a great experience for us. We found the location to be centrally located among the various things we did around San Diego. Communication with Ron was prompt and attentive. Since the unit is their part-time house, it was stocked with the utensils and foods you would typically have at home. The only oddity we found was that the house does not have a microwave, which would have been helpful for breakfasts and heating up leftovers. Aside from this, the house met our needs well and we would recommend for your future stay.
