Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, gave good advice on site-seeing and hiring bikes. Room was very good. Location was great, great views, and a huge shopping mall 2-3 blocks behind the hotel.

Very small apartments, seems lke everything is squeezed in. The price is too expensive. Bathroom is old and some simple details makes it unatractive at all. Some dirt behind the curtains and very expensive water (which I remember the staff saying they were complementary). Would choose another hotel close to it.

They dont vaccum rooms as it was dusty and on my third day i stepped on a broken piece of glass and we never broke a glass . Also we receivèd room that had a wet top sheet. As tge maids were changing the top sheet i noticed previous guests body hair on other sheets and pillow case . Seems the hotel does not require rooms to be vaccumed and the sheets to be changed

The staff is truly amazing! I’ve stayed in quite a few fancy five star hotels and this one exceeds each of them in quality of their people. Location is great too!

you can tell the building is rather old and requires a bit of maintenance. Furniture in rooms needs replacing and the rooms themselves could use a paint job. The bathrooms sometimes smell. And please replace the bedsheets and towels, they are quite worn out.

The room given to us had a connecting door with another room. People in there were a little bit noisy. As it was low season maybe that could have been avoided

They assigned a room in the second floor facing to the avenue Rbla. Mahatma Gandhi despite my explicit requirement for a silence room. they don’t have room service.

The staff were pleasant but they have nothing to work with. The staff are in fact the only good part of this hotel.

Everything other the staff is to be disliked. The description of the property is completely misleading. The hotel has been built inside the shell of an old Montevideo apartment block which in its day must have housed small single flats on each of its thirteen floors. Now each floor has four rooms. I had a superior room with views to the estuary, but even this was small with considerable road noise. It was clean and the bed was comfy. There is no 'swanky lounge area' and certainly no 'restaurant where gourmet dinner is served'. I did not check to see if there actually was a fitness center. There is no bar as stated in the literature. No airport shuttle as advertised. They will arrange an expensive taxi which is not to the standard of the remisse that one takes from the airport to town. WiFi is intermittent. Breakfast was about as bad as one could get. From the description I took this Mercure to be on the same pattern as other such hotels and it was far from that.

The location

Location is excellent: we wanted something in a pleasant part of the Ramble and with easy access to both Pocitos and City Centre + Ciudad Vieja, that was sufficed. Very attentive and professional staff (always helpful), all the recomended restaurants and attractions paid off. Good breakfast. Nice window view.

Infrastructure could have been better. Main lightbulb of the room burnt the second day, wasn't changed. Doorframe in the bathroom was broken. Second elevator was broken 4 days into the week. Air-conditioner triggered allergies in my wife so we couldn't use it (this is unusual, it probably needed cleaning), carpet floor also had that old/beaten carpet smell (get rid of it, seriously).

Nice rooms with excellent view to the sea. Staff is amicable and helpful. The location next to the seaside, malecon and one of Montevideo's best Shopping Centers is great

Lack of parking facilities

hotel is very well located, it’s very clean and the staff is very friendly

if you go by car is really challenging to check in as there is no place to stop the car and all the area is very crowded. Rooms space is very limited
