Hôtel was ok for one night

Lovely overnight stay. Staff very friendly and helpful!

This is a traditional Scottish hotel with lots of tartan! The room was large, clean & comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Bit tired but we’ll located for Perth and surrounding area.

Charming hotel overlooking the river and old bridge, right in the heart of the place. Everywhere is easily walkable and St John’s Kirk is well worth a visit.

I loved this hotel and shall return. Decor is a bit dated but staff were helpful and my overall experience was good.

Very friendly staff, large room. Great location on riverside with its own beautiful garden restaurant as well as gorgeous gardens and parks and nature walks. The front door opens to a wide variety of independent restaurants and cafes, galleries, theatres and museums in a pedestrianised area and lots of interesting independent shops including coffee bean roasters

Pleasant stay, no vie from room but only there for one night so not a problem. Perfect location for exploring the city. Excellent food, will certainly use hotel again

Traditional and breakfast included inmprice

Hotel was very clean and staff friendly. Lots of character throughout the building. Good value for money , excellent choices at breakfast. Only down side , lack of parking spaces, 13 tight spaces for such a large hotel

I had an enjoyable stay in a well-appointed single room which had a commodious bed. The only hiccup was a poor TV set. The free breakfast was excellent.

Really nice hotel with exceptionally friendly staff, 5 minute walk from the town center with plenty of bars and restaurants. Only thing for us was the parking lot is super tight if you have a big car like ours

This is our second stay lovely hotel staff are so friendly must mention Helen at breakfast and the young lad on the bar both of them were so welcoming looking at a date for our next stay

Standard double room. Clean tidy with everything you need for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room looked onto the River Tay which was nice. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Location excellent. Log fire warming on a cold night.

Had a great stay room clean and comfy had a bath with shower over really need walk in but we managed will ask for one next time no lifts as we are in our seventies could have been a problem but on first floor staff offered to help with luggage Helen on breakfast was fabulous nothing was a bother we will be going again

We had a lovely time at the royal George hotel, all staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel

The location is excellent as a great deal of shopping and dining locations are only a short walk. Room was great except for the step down to step up to go to the toilet, somewhat hard to negotiate in the dark. The lady that took care of us at the breakfast was amazing and is a great example of how someone in the hospitality business should be, just wish I had asked her name so i could refer to that here. The buffet breakfast was also amazing, best we had in Scotland.

Unique old hotel with a lot of charm. Very old building so parking lot is very small and no elevator. The mattress was probably the worst I’ve ever slept on. Felt like a box spring. Pillows terrible too. Food was good. Staff very friendly but they were a little short staffed.

Great traditional hotel. Staff went out of there way to accommodate us. Great breakfast layout. We will stay again, next visit to Perth.

A nice hotel in a good location by the river. We had our dog with us and the hotel did everything it could to make us and our Saint Bernard happy, we liked to be able to eat with her by our side. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Next time we are in Perth we will stop again.

We checked in, dropped out bags in the room and immediately left to walk around city centre, enjoy a meal and do some sightseeing. Several enjoyable hours later, we returned to our room for a bath and a good night's sleep. We got neither. The bed and pillows were of the worst possible quality; one like concrete, the other like a case that had lost all its filling. I spent 15 minutes trying to find a comfortable position in which to lay, wadding up the dreadful pillow in hopes of adding some bulk. Decided on a hot bath, thinking it might help me sleep. No joy, ran the water for 15 minutes and could not even get tepid. Thought to check Expedia for other reviews (maybe we were in the wrong place, I hoped), no wi-fi in our room. Wandered back and forth, tripping over the carpet that had peeled back (beneath a window, likely got wet), a signal faded in and out but never held long enough to connect to anything. Repacked the few things we had unpacked, went into the hallway for a wifi signal, and made a reservation elsewhere. I travel a lot. This was among the worst experiences I've had with an otherwise well-reviewed hotel. Don't know if they over-booked and I got a room that should not have been rented, no idea, but never again.

Really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is one i would definitely recommend. Staff went out of their way to make our stay great. Beautifully situated by the river so that you can watch the world go by while enjoying your breakfast
