We were moved to 3 rooms. The first wasn’t what I booked, the second had BLACK MOLD all over the ceiling and a broken window railing that could have killed my child and all the exits except the front entrance are not working, they’re locked from the outside with broken key pads

The hotel needs a little tlc. Just a little attention to walls and flooring. The room was absolutely fine.

My room smelled like mildew, and I had mold in the bathroom. For the rate that was charged I got a 1 star experience.

There was black mold all over my room, someone else's trash was in my trash can. The staff did nothing while the line got longer and the one person checking people in was on the phone. The ceiling tiles in the lobby hallways were grosse as well.

We arrived after check in time, the lobby was ok except for it being very hot. The staff had a couple of fans trying to keep cool. We were giving room 206 and my mom went to use the bathroom and the toilet didn’t work. I went down to inform them and they said that someone will be up to look at it, well they never came until I went to them again, at this point it was 11PM and we were so tired and was ready to go to bed. The front desk was so shocked that nobody came to look at the toilet that she gave me another room but that room was used and smelled like marijuana Room 311. I went back to them and told her that the room was used. She was so compassionate that she wanted to make sure that we were comfortable staying there so she accommodated me to Room 319, the manger walk with me to check the room and she noticed it had a bad smell in it but offered me some air freshener. We we’re there for a family member funeral at 11 am that Saturday morning and were was so tired that morning because we had a long drive that were was over it at that point. Because before we arrived there were had a bad experience at the Renaissance in Birmingham downtown because they had bed bugs. So we booked here and still got a very bad experience. I will never stay here again because the carpet in the hallways on each floor are so very nasty and the plumbing is bad because the toilet barely flushed.

My wife and I always stay at the Courtyard when we visit Montgomery, which is many many time per year. This recent visit made us question continuing using this hotel. This time the room smelled old damp and musty. The shower and the sink drained incredibly slow and the toilet had a light sewage smell coming from it( no one had used it yet). The ac I assume was doing the best it could since we couldn't tell what the setting were and it was very hot and humid on this weekend. We like the proximity of the Courtyard as it is closer the places we're going and our families. My only wish is that maintenance were a bit better, other than it a fine place to stay for a couple days.

This was clearly not a Marriot.

Absolutely the worst Courtyard that we have ever stayed.

The only entrance to the property is at the front door. Need to fix that so you’re able to get in the property through all access doors.

Hotels.com messed up and gave us a double room and there were none. Manager and check in clerk was very nice and gave us two rooms for no extra charge. Hotel itself needs a major redo. Nasty, moldy smelling.

We hope to visit this wonderful city again!

It was smooth

Mildew in bathroom. Leaking shower. Stench. Smokers right outside lobby.

Didn't feel safe at the property. Staff was very unwelcoming. Room and hallways smelt damp and looked old, no breakfast or perks for being a marriott member. Room service broke my charging cord while cleaning

The room was not properly cleaned. There was a used bandaid next to the bed. Someone had left earbuds on the sofa sleeper in plain view. The floor was dirty, and the room smelled musty. It was almost midnight when I arrived, so I cleaned it up as much as possible and went to bed.

I was not aware that we had to pay for breakfast. The entrance to the room was extremely narrow we could barely get the trolley with our bags in .

Lady of the evening roaming the hallways knocking on hotel doors! Reported to the front desk! Was at the front desk later and the prostitute still wandering around!!

Room had been lived in (not cleaned) and missing a refrigerator. I will say the staff graciously moved us to another room promptly and with much courtesy. There was no complimentary breakfast and no creamer for the in room coffee.

I have always thought that a Marriott hotel was above average. So, it was disappointing to find broken security boxes by the outside doors. Another sign for a declining facility is finding baseplugs with loose connections for inserted 110 electric items,”like cell phones to be recharged at plugs or by the bed.

Everything was perfect

The first room they gave us was not clean and beds unmade. The next room they gave us was the same way. With the help of housekeeping we tried three more rooms before finding a clean room. After that the stay was fine except phone didn’t work

I had a great stay … no complaints ..

The good news is that the bed & amount of covers / selection of pillow weight & fluffiness was good. Otherwise, there needed to be attention to mold on the bathroom at ceiling & wall. Frustration with housekeeping...had been 2 minutes into a hot shower to accomplish Goal #1-washing hair...only to find there to be 2 conditioners on wall (dispensing shampoo container units)...seemed a bit dirty. my guess is I didn't get top choice of rooms, cut w/ tax still at top $. No free coffee in lobby (without buying breakfast); room coffee maker sufficed. The little Bistro bar & food nook was run by a NICE woman who WAS professional and courteous, so the $15 cocktail (add tip) was worth it... Had a small 'walled" area to catch up on news/(TV) and it had comfie divan seating.

Old but cheap, it was fine for a place to sleep

This Marriott hotel is one of the most tired hotels we have stayed at. Everything was well worn, the carpets in the hallway were dirty, we were not getting daily house keeping, which is fine except we do need coffee and cups everyday and it was difficult to find someone to bring those to our room. The ladies at the front desk were usually talking to other employees so it felt like I was interrupting if I needed to ask for something. One time there was an argument happening between 3 housekeepers at the front counter. Our keys stopped working twice during the week and we had to get them re-keyed, as did everyone else in our group, all on different floors. One of the outside doors wouldn’t open at all- the one nearest the elevator, so that was inconvenient.

All the entrance doors card readers didn’t work. Had to switch rooms because a/c wasn’t working.

The room was dirty. There were stains on the walls and the ottoman looked dirty. Also the bed was flimsy; it moved when I sat on the edge.

Place needs major overhaul. Things are worn out or broken. Check in wasn’t pleasant, maybe she was worn out too. Overall not the standard we were looking for.
