Lovely resort with much attention to detail and even a ghost tour!

Beautiful, historic location. Very well appointed and maintained. Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. We were very satisfied.

We enjoyed our one night stay at The Algonquin Resort in a “Traveller” room, a decent sized one queen bedroom, linens and bed very comfortable, a remodelled bathroom w walk-in shower. Tastefully appointed. The only downside is the room did not have a small fridge.

Comfortable like home.

Beautiful resort and views, but the room was tiny and the sheets were really rough. Not worth $375/night.

Staff always go above and beyond. Amazing hospitality, historic feel and fun downtown.

There has been a change since Marriott took over the management. I know staffing is an issue but you shouldn’t have to ask for your room to be cleaned. It’s such a great spot it’s a shame to let the standards fall.

The timeless atmosphere and decor imbued the expected idealization we had. Friendly staff and seamless interactions made this the perfect place to celebrate our 40th anniversary.

Loved the age and character of the property. The room was ample size, quiet and easily accessible. Easy trip downtown and to golf course. Only drawback was the lack of efficient loading and unloading area. No parking painted on asphault did not deter anyone making access to the lobby and check-in difficult along with the previously mentioned item. Would definately return again if in the area.

Super great experience

We love the historic charm of the Algonquin,along with the updated features. The location is one of the best features. St.Andrews is a beautiful seaside community which is one of our favorite destinations.

We selected this hotel based on the location and positive reviews. The room was not exactly as we thought we had booked, but it was comfortable and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job with room maintenance. We had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. AC was constant and the fan blows at a steady pace, which you can adjust.This was good. The buffet breakfast selection was generous. Most of the wait staff were friendly and helpful. Walking into town for meals was a great option if you don’t want to eat at the hotel. Only drawbacks, there are no quiet spaces to sit and read, music is piped everywhere and even though there are no smoking signs, people smoke at the steps and on the driveway which drifts up to the porch area. My suggestion to the hotel is to maximise the space on the north side with Adirondack chairs for people who don’t have balconies to have a quieter space. This is likely deliberate as that way people don’t have access to the bar and restaurant, so this would not help with profits. The doors to the rooms don’t shut quietly, so a lot of door banging happens. Dogs may also bark in rooms as they are dog friendly. It was a great one time experience, but perhaps we have realised we are not resort people. The hotel has tons of character and the town of St Andrew’s has a very laid back feel.

The Algonquin is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful part of Canada. Visitors shpuld be aware that parking a car is a hassle and there are limited (3) accessable spots. The restaurant was not a good option for dinner, the food was bland and either over or undercooked. The breakfast buffet ($25/per person) was good.

Amazing hotel! Our stay was too short but we will definitely be back. We were greeted right when we arrived and they had a shuttle to bring us to dinner as we were running late. Amazing property and staff!!!

Is a beautiful property and St Andrews is a lovely town. We had a nice time. Staff are terrific. Only negative was landscaping work both days we were there with heavy machinery.
