Location and view from room was excellent! It felt like a Pacific Island however this afternoon is no “resort”.
Rooms only serviced on the 7th day so if you wanted a fresh towel you had to pay $10. There was no top up of soap or tea and coffee.
The pool was great but there is no holiday resort atmosphere. It felt dead and neglected. Many rooms have permanent residents or are privately rented. No extra activities for kids or gym.
Breakfast served on weekends from 8.00.
Rooms are average quite roomy but looking tired. Bed was comfy.
I thought the’resort’ in total felt a bit dead.

The toilet seat was not secure although it was fixed after 3 days, the bed had sagged in the middle as it probably had been used for too many romantic weekends and the floor was covered in dust

Room had a stunning view of the ocean, the room had good space but had an unpleasant smell, though was reasonably clean. Friendly staff with good service and very accommodating. Overall i really enjoyed my 2 nights stay and i would definitely stay again.

Beautiful area and beach. Seems like every room either has a view of the pool or ocean with the sunset.
No wifi, no cleaner, and not perfectly clean so loses points. Otherwise everything you need, in a beautiful location.

Amazing staff, location and food!!!
The room was a bit of a let down; The bathroom in particular wasnt very clean and very dated. The kids bunk was pretty worn and rough, Also the aircon/heater didnt turn on (LED just flashed).
Would happily stay again but the bathroom in particular could use some more attention when being cleaned and I hope some renovations/updates are in the cards soon.
Also special mention to the staff, They were amazing, Very friendly and helpful!

My partner and I stayed in a newly renovated room, which was gorgeous, and very comfortable. Our view was probably the least exciting, but that wasn't very important to us. We had several family members in other rooms, however, with gorgeous views right out onto the beachfront.

Room was very tied, leaking basin taps , leaking shower , the electrical panel outside the room had a 75db sound coming from it in our room, it lasted from 9pm to 4:30am the staff could do nothing to help , was the worst night in a hotel we have ever had , the restaurant and meal was ok

We enjoyed our short stay at Dolphin Heads Resort. The pool was amazing, the restaurant menu was extensive, food was delicious, the grounds were nice and everything within the resort is close by. Yes, the rooms are aging but we knew this before arrival. The room still had everything we needed and was clean. The beach infront of DH is all rocks but Eimeo Beach was just a few mins drive away and was stunning. It had a coffee/food van every week day, lifeguards, toilet facilities, shady areas and a park. If I am to make a suggestion to Dolphin Heads, it would be to add some more seats around the pool.

Dislikes! No Breakfast, poor management or not enough staff at restaurant/ bar, server mould smell entering my room & bathroom vent was overloaded with dust so ventilation fan didn't work! Cheap appliances, need more activities, shops walking distance!

There was nobody to greet us at all since we arrived after 4pm. When we called we were told that our room was left unlocked and to go on in. The bathroom smelled of sewer. The beds were very uncomfortable and we suspect there were bedbugs. We also had a cockroach visitor.
It appeared that there had been an attempt to clean the place but it is very run down and needs a lot of work.

Brilliant bar and dinner service, receptionist(female) friendly and tried to bechelpfull. Didnt get room booked with QS bed and couch instead just QS bed with stuff from previous occupent still in cupboard and freezer. Balcony furniture very flaky, opening the balcony difficult due to missing bearings , room requires decent cleaning. No access to beach but decent pool with just 4 lounges. And on departure day whilst getting ready electricity was switched off without warning...and no one cared. A run down joint.

Rooms were old and in desperate need of updating, i have doubts theyd even been cleaned as the floor was filthy!
AC didnt work which is very poor for Mackay and hard to find anyone at reception to have this rectified.

Love the pool facilities, quiet. Little bit of a cruise ship feeling with the bar and restuarant near the pool. Rooms were not well maintained. The main light wasn’t working, soaps and shampoos not filled or not working. Absolutely no room service, not even fresh towels. Guess I shouldn’t complain considering the price.
