Proximity to town. Up keep was great. Great customer service.

Nice stay in a lovely area. Could make it clearer for those driving to the venue the route they should take to avoid ZTL, having checked my itinerary and the site page, couldn’t see the information regarding this.

The staff was very helpful and attentive. The breakfast included was excellent with many options to choose from. The location is great, with Siena only a 5-minute walk away and other Tuscan attractions nearby. We will definitely return in the future!

Decided to visit Siena for a day for the first time and this was the best I could have opted for. Hotel has its own parking, is conveniently located around 600 meters walk from the Duomo and around 800-1000 meters from the main Piazza del Campo. Beautiful view of the country side from the 7th floor terrace. Internet is fast and staff are very clear with instructions and precise. Thank you to Claudio especially for great service!

Great place to stay in Siena

The pictures of the rooms displayed on the website doesn’t match with the actual rooms. Booked a triple room with a view but ended up in a dark room with small windows looking to a street. The front desk staff was ignorant and blamed me. They said there might be an opening for the next day but didn’t even follow up with me. Very disappointed for their attitude. Location is good but hospitality of the front desk was bad.

We stayed at hotel Athena for one night traveling from the Dolomites to the Amalfi coast. The town of Siena is beautiful and the view was amazing from our room. However, given the 4 start rating I would have expected better. I do believe this hotel was once a 4 star hotel, but probably several decades ago. It was dated and had very thin walls. We had just traveled from a 5 start hotel - and it was a true 5 start hotel. I would compare Athena to a 2 star hotel. The walls are very thin, could hear people walking and talking like they were right next to us. Thankfully we didn’t hear anyone late or early in the morning. The room was clean, staff kind and helpful and we did have a good nights sleep. We were at the hotel for about 14 hours in total for shower and sleep. If I stayed in Siena again, we would look for other accommodations. However, I would love to see Hotel Athena after a renovation. I would pay 4x the amount for a newer, more aesthetically pleasing hotel.

Loved this hotel! Water pressure in shower was excellent. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Close walk to inside the walled city

Hotel Athena has a warm and welcoming staff. Our view was spectacular and the room was cleaned daily. The breakfast buffet was worth the price. We were a few minutes walk to the Duomo and the main Piazza. Highly recommend this hotel

A mixed experience at this hotel. We had a wonderful, friendly check-in experience. The room was a little small and cramped but clean. There was going to be a train strike over the weekend so we cut our stay short by a day and when we went down to ask for help getting a dinner reservation and a cab to the train station early the next morning, the person at the front desk was not only rude, but told us we should have given them more notice for dinner and it was unlikely we would get a cab at 6am. Thankfully, someone new on the desk the following morning cheerfully ordered our taxi and they were there 15 minutes later. Also, had a wonderful, albeit late, dinner at their rooftop restaurant which the front desk clerk assured us was impossible for a same day request

Great property a bit away from crowd yet walkable to the center.

Very helpful staff!!! Daniele at the front desk was fantastic. Nice room, very clean.. WiFi was very poor. Tough if you need to work. Parking can be difficult, but they will help you park. Getting out was a challenge sometimes.

We always stay here when in Siena. It’s a great place.

Beautiful property! The views are amazing and the staff are very helpful and caring.

Lovely hotel, convenient to Piazza di Campo and Siena city center. The front desk staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. Great recommendations for wineries and dinner. Parking was super easy, there is plenty available just next to the hotel, but we were always able to find street parking right in front. The breakfast was abundant with tons of options. The only knocks are the room is very hot, the ac was not cooling at all, beds and pillows are very hard & the bar staff was terrible. The downstairs bar was never open and the 7th floor bar/restaurant staff were terrible. After going to the bar twice and seeing how it was run and how the restaurant was run we chose to never eat there so can’t comment on the food. We bought food and wine and local markets and had dinner on our balcony, which was lovely. We would absolutely stay again, but would choose to have cocktails and dinner elsewhere or bring them back to our room and eat on the balcony.

If you are driving, it's great because it's inside the walls, but you can go with your car until the hotel parking lot without crossing the narrow streets - Beautiful view of the valleys from the Terrace - Nice and fresh breakfast.
