Carriage House is always our first choice when we go to Hamden CT. The service is amazing. The rooms are updated and tastefully decorated. Very comfortable.

Perfectly adequate for the average traveler just looking for a conveniently located, clean place to stay. This was my second stay and I’ll be back. My only concern: the shower floor is extremely slippery, especially once you use shampoo- I had to put a hand towel down to feel safe.

Not a terrible place to stay but not really a place that makes sense. My room was clean and small, but cozy. Honestly, room was very basic but good for a one night stay. My check in was great and the communication with staff who sent me instructions was also great. My main issue was with the basic room at this refurbished motel. My toiletries were open, definitely not new, and my mattress was uncomfortable because of lumps. At around 2 am I was awoken by what sounded like garbage trucks for an hour. I realized in the morning that behind my room was a USPS facility that had trucks backing in and going out almost all night. The traffic passing by the front of the hotel was also loud all night and even worse was the mini refrigerator. Again, if I had to do it again, I’d stay at a traditional hotel.

I stayed for three nights. The staff did a great job keeping the place in perfect shape for the three nights.

Check-in was contactless and easy. Room looked really nice, and was clean. Bathroom and water pressure were fine. A perfect place to stay without ll the extras (breakfast, pool, etc.) We will be staying here again on our next trip.

By far the best place to stay in the area. The staff is extremely proactive and responsive. We checked in late so they left us very detailed instructions for our arrival. The room was absolutely spotless (probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I do a lot of traveling). Do not judge this place by the surrounding area or it’s unassuming exterior, this was truly a 5 star stay.

This little Boutique Motel was nicely remodeled and has all the amenities in the room needed for a weekend stay. I travel quite a bit and will definitely stay here again. I love supporting small business owners and their dreams for success. You won't be disappointed staying at the Carriage House.

We had a wonderful stay until we got up in the morning to find someone had tried to break into our vehicle. We left and after I explained the situation to the hostess she was so accommodating in calling the police so we could file an insurance claim. She couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was well appointed and clean.

Very clean and host very warm and friendly.

The room was clean and comfortable. It had a fridge and microwave. It was bigger than expected and parking was extremely convenient. The attendant went out of her way by providing ice for us. I would rate it 4.5 only because it was more of an upgraded motel than an actual hotel. I would definitely stay again. The price waa very reasonable too.

Personal, friendly staff and unique boutique decor.

The host was absolutely amazing! She took the time to walk us to our room and make sure we were satisfied with the conditions. She provided us the option of choosing our room location. There was a “homey” feel to the room and was very comfortable. We would absolutely return to lodge at The Carriage House if we’re ever in the area again. My son left his football cleats in the room, and the host graciously offered to mail them to us. Great experience and wonderful customer service!!

We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay at the Carriage House! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and wonderfully quiet! This was our first visit but it will not be our last. Carriage House is a great BARGAIN!

I am SO grateful to have found the Carriage House. It was a much better value than an Airbnb or hotel chain, in my opinion. The very positive reviews convinced me to stay there over other options in the area and I’m glad I did. Now, I can add my review to the many other positive reviews here!
