rooms where very nice but the beds where way to soft. But would come again.

De kamer was schoon. Minpuntje. In de omgeving was niets te doen

In our stay they didn't clean the room at all even tho we asked for it. We were promised they would come but they didn't and on the next day they said the room was not in the system for cleaning!? And on the fourth day when we asked for it the staff of the hotel said the housekeeping already left for the day. So if you want a clean place to stay this is unfortunately not the right place

The hotel is very well located, with ample parking space. The staff is really friendly and the rooms clean and spacious. If you’re lucky enough to get a fifth floor room, the view is pretty good too.

Really liked the clean and pretty big room, staff was very friendly and helpful. The inner city is about 15 min by bus but we liked walking the way really (50min) as the weather was awesome anyways. :D

Room was cold and radiator did not worked. I told three to receiption girl but she did not care and did nothing. Very bad stuff. When I checkout the guy mistaken my invoice. To reach center is only bus line 74 with runs only from hour to hour. Breakfast was poor and fresh fruits were old fruits.

Easily the smallest hotel bed in the world. No comfortable seating, clock or teapot in the room. Microscopic bathroom, no washcloths, shower had nowhere to put even a bar of soap, so I had to step out to get shampoo, then step out for conditioner, then soap. Towels are very stiff and scratchy. Service in dining room is terrible - it took 2 hours to be served a soup, salad and dessert, and I was one of 3 tables. The food on the dinner menu is inedible, heavily loaded with sage and all around poor quality ingredients. The second night I had bread and butter for dinner because the beef burgundy was too nasty to eat at all. Breakfast - normally a delight in Europe - at least has fresh croissants, but little else to recommend it. This is no more a VIP access hotel than the moon is.

Best way to see Groningen on a low budget is stay at the Bastion at night, park car at IKEA during the day and walk into town.

Nice hotel for a good quality/price ratio. Isolation of the room might benefit improvement. Breakfast variety is good, Recommended place if you have to do in the neighborhood.

Me and my father both were suppose to spend a week and 3 days in the bastion hotel, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we ended up stay a bit longer. At first we were on the first floor. The rooms from the first floor arent made for staying long periods of time especially if your not used to having a small bath room and bed, but non the less the place is quite comfortable, the staff ( who i will not mention there names for safety reason) are fantastic, they help you with what ever they can with little to as no problem, every morning they check each room and see if anyone needs anything or if the room needs clean, they is a dinner, a bar and breakfast although depending on what type of booking you have it might not be included(check expedia for those details). its easy to catch the bus 10 minutes after the hour from right across the hotel straight to the center of groningen which is a plus, especially since it is kind of a walk to reach to anything. after staying in the room, we had to upgrade due to huge amount of people booking rooms, and we were set on the fifth floor, the deluxe rooms. Now the deluxe room are more spacious especially the bathroom, with a higher sink and tub/shower. If i were to book again it would definitely be these rooms. I also forgot to mention that not everyone can walk into the hallways as well, you need a room key to get through to anything with a door in there, except the main door to the hotel and the gym door. I would stay here again

The hotel is easy to find off of the highway, and the room was comfortable, the staff is friendly and informative and the room suited our needs for a stop over. An added perk was the elevator.

This is anice hotel good service and the staff were friendly. I recommend to everyone.

Modern hotel, but the room was a little cold and I couldnt figure out how to raise the tempurature

Enjoyed our stay in Bastion De-lux Room good Just while using the bath as a shower it would be a good idea to have non slip mat for the bath while having a shower to stop slipping in it. Breakfast very good maybe have a few more choices of cereals. Food in the restaurant good also and staff very friendly

Excellent value. Well placed on bus route and car parking available. Staff and hotel high standard.

Smoking area close to rooms, unable to air the room. Chairs to heavy and noisy when neighbours up early and push and pull and push and pull the chair, city tax not aware of prior of purchase . Good bus transport to town

Nice modern hotel and very clean. Friendly staff and good food. Out in the business district so no easy walk shops or cafes.
