Small room with a strange but not too bad smell.

Everyone who works there was friendly and helpful. A short walk from the train station and we even walked to the Titlis lift (even though a shuttle runs to it).

Lovely service and neat and nice hotel that is perfectly located with walking distance to everything. Really good breakfast as well and Nadia and Tomas does that little extra to make the stay perfect. The hotel is not new, but it is clean, warm, have all you need and the beds are comfy. I now have a new favorite place to stay when I come back to Engelberg.

Great! Exactly what I wanted!

The Pros: We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, we went for a family vacation, and fell in love with the surroundings of the hotel, which is perfectly nestled at the base of the mountains with shops and restaurants all around and everything is at a walking distance. The owner has had this hotel in his family for 3 generations and are very knowledgeable about all the shops, food and tours in the area; and they are incredibly nice and helpful. We had a 3 bed room, it was very spacious and had a nice bathroom with amazing water pressure! Beds are very comfortable and when you open up your window the views are simply breathtaking. Cons: The hotel is a little tired and could definitely use a facelift, with creaking floorboards, narrow, dark hallways and a front desk which is not 24 hours. The breakfast which was included with our stay is very basic and limited. But all that can be put aside, the main downer was the lack of ventilation in the room; you can open a window but the restaurant at the bottom of the hotel has outdoor seating where people can smoke freely and all of that second hand smoke comes into the hotel room, and so you're stuck with your windows closed, with no A/C controls, no fans and no air flow. It should also be noted residents and tourists that we encountered throughout our stay are very heavy smokers, thus this was an ongoing problem. Overall: We enjoyed our time there, would go again, and would recommend!

Morning & evening views from my comfortable room were superb, a great way to psych up or wind down from the days mountain excursion. Location is on a bricked street with a village feel in the heart of the town, surrounded by shops and good restaurants. From this central location near the historic cloister, youre a few minutes walk from bus stops for the free shuttle to Titlis, Brunni, or Fuhrenalp cable car stations. About 10 min to main train station (around 2 hrs to Zurich). Hotel rooms very comfortable and clean, breakfasts in a large dining room are good. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable for recommendations about local trails & activities.

Staff is really helpful and attentive, the room was perfectly clean, bed was comfortable. Just think that the price was too high.

Lovely hotel in the very heart of beautiful Engelberg. I truly felt at home there.

This was the perfect hotel for my fiance and I during our trip to Engelberg, Switzerland. Highly recommended! The staff at the front desk was so helpful!

Spent two nights here and enjoyed Engelberg a great deal. This is a good, basic hotel. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful and the room and hotel were fine. I loved the water pressure in the very bright bathroom. More bathrooms dont have sufficient light, but this one sure did! There was also a fridge in the room, which was nice. Breakfast was basic - boiled eggs, some breads, yogurt, fruit salad, some cheese and meats. They also had a smoothie of the day.The hotel is very centrally located, but rooms in the front are very noisy, since its on the main walking street.

I stayed for one night at the end of a work event. The hotel owners were so pleasant, accommodating and helpful! The location was perfect. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was delicious!! I would stay at this hotel again!!

Located in the upper part of Engelberg, about 10 minutes walk from the train station. This is run by a friendly family. The rooms are comfortable and have nice views of the mountains. The bathrooms are small but well equipped - not for bigger people! The staff are very helpful with advice on activities in and around Engelberg. The breakfast is good but not elaborate. Good value for the price.

The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and important to them. The room was typical of most European hotels (a little small) but perfect for my needs. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and I recommend this hotel for its location, customer service, and genuine care for their guests.

This family owned and operated hotel could not have been more perfect. From the first greeting, room cleanliness, fresh European breakfast and location I felt like this was the real deal. Switzerland at its best. I lucked into this choice but will not stay anywhere else in Engelberg.
