It's a very small room, but Iceland is expensive and this is a great deal for the price. The bathroom on our floor was clean and provided shampoo and soap. It's a 10-minute walk from old town city central, which is fabulous. Extremely safe area. The front desk staff were kind, friendly, and super helpful. There is a laundry room in the building (they give you free laundry detergent and let you use the machines for free -- literally, I'm not kidding), and they have lockers you can rent for very cheap to hold your valuables. Parking is free and close by (it's part of a university campus, and the overflow lot is a 3-minute walk). Overall, a very terrific and affordable option.

Very simple room with shared bathroom, dated but clean. Expensive for what it offers, like most accommodation in Reykjavik. Checkin/checkout was efficient but the least friendly I experienced in Iceland. It was fine for me for 1 night and I did discover a fantastic bakery for breakfast a couple of blocks west of the university, near a swimming pool.

A walking path to the foot bridge to cross over to the other side where there is a subway/gas station. A cross walk to the park and past it to the church. We had a private bathroom room. Clean. They let us borrow an USB outlet plug since we did not have europlugs chargers. They provide a city map, called a cab for us, nice laundry room, and answered our questions the best they could. I recommend the Student Hostel. Thank you

So happy that we chose to stay at the student hostel. I highly recommend this place. Clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Loved the separate common area for hanging out in. Super convenient to downtown and the bus terminal. They even have large storage lockers for rent. I would definitely stay at the student hostel, again.

We spent there 5 nights with a shared bathroom. However, it did not matter as everything was extremely clean and user-friendly. Hostels all over the should be as clean as this one. I RECOMMEND GOING THERE!

The room was very spacious and there was a large fully equipped shared kitchen and bathroom. The students working the reception desk were all very kind and helpful. It’s a 15 minute walk to the BSÍ Bus Terminal and 10 minute walk to downtown Reykjavik. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Stayed in the newer area in a 2 bed with bathroom unit. Wonderful, modern facilities and fully equipped kitchen. Student pub was fun. Shared room with my adult daughter.

Very close and walkable to downtown shopping and food options as well as a lovely park. Having the university right there felt very safe, let alone a good chance for us to see some really neat architecture. The inside of the accommodation and the amenities were so beautiful and cozy.

This is on the uni property and close to BSI for easy access to bus system. Lots to do nearby without being in the tourist area. Quiet and relaxing. Easy walk into town center.

Very easy to walk to from bus terminal (10 mins) and same for getting into centre. Very clean with comfortable beds. Helpful staff at front desk.
Use of kitchen with fridge space so you can keep costs to a minimum if you wish.
Jigsaws in the lounge area if you wish something to do in the evenings.
Shared toilet/showers but these are very clean so wasn't an issue.
Would stay again quite happily.

The location and the rooms were great. The check-in was rather unfriendly by person at the reception. Rather abrupt.
The other aspect that we did not understand was the bathroom. Everytime we had a shower, nearly the whole floor got wet. The Shower had a shower curtain, though.

We had an excellent stay at Student Hostel. It was an easy walk to the downtown area which offers so much to see and do. The bus stop is right outside the hostel if you’d like to explore a little further. The beds were very comfortable which left us well rested for our next day’s adventures.

Its a bit of a walk to get to a supermarket or a restaurant but nothing is too far.

It's on the main road, easy to start your car trip from there.A few minute walk to get to the city centre. The mattress could be a bit harder, but it's a common problem in the whole island

The hostel is beautiful and I wouldn't call it a hostel (based on other ones I have stayed at). The staff upgraded my room to the newer area with a private bathroom which was incredible. The common areas are high quality with large kitchens and enough space for multiple groups to do their dinners.
I found it a wonderful place to stay, warm and welcoming, and a place I will definitely recommend to people travelling in the Summer, as well as a place I would come back to.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The young woman at the counter was super helpful with local information. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean and well-apportioned, and the community room is a great spot for hanging out.

The hotel is very conveniently located for the BSI bus terminal, which includes the bus to the airport. It is also a reasonable walk from central Reykjavik with many shops and restaurants.

Only issue I had was with the loudness of the road outside of the west side windows. If at all possible get a room on the opposite side.
