Nice hotel in downtown with very good location

What a great location for train station and cruise port. Lots of restaurants and stores in the area. Staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Tanja at customer service was excellent in providing us w late check in instructions. She was very pleasant and provided quick replies. Tanja in the breakfast area was very diligent and takes pride in her work ensuring it was well run. I highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay! Don’t let the 2 stars deter you. The room was super spacious and really clean. The staff were really great and helpful as well! They recommended places to go, and helped us get transport to the airport. The hotel is nice and close to the main square and the canal which made it perfect. Highly recommend.

Our stay at Nuovo Albergo Centro Hotel was great overall! The location is fantastic, the breakfast is very good (and there are gluten-free options!), the staff friendly. Absolutely loved it there and can highly recommend it.

This is a very nice hotel!! The staff were warm and welcoming, everything was new, clean, and had great attention to detail. The breakfast was also very good, and they were very warm and friendly to my dog. The location was also perfect distance to city highlights and to the train station. I would stay here again and again. For the price, it really can't be beat. i was incredibly impressed.

Outside, on the shower walls was a black mold! The rest of the property was clean....

Pleasant hotel in very center of Trieste, very convenient for business and shopping. Very clean, definitely worth more than official two star mark.

The staff was very friendly, considerate and helpful. The room and bathrom were clean. And the hotel is right in city centre with all the attractions just a short walk away. There's a bus stop nearby and plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity.

Great value and very central albergo in Trieste. All very clean and comfortable with good check-in staff. Breakfast was fresh with nice coffee. Even though it is so central (one block from Grande Canale) it is quiet and well soundproofed.

The single beds were on opposite sides of the room so were unable to be next to each other, also when sitting up in bed the headboard/shelf fell towards the wall as it was not secured. There was no left-luggage area but we were allowed to leave our cases under a table in the reception area. The reception staff were very good and managed to quieten our rather excitable (loud laughter at midnight) neighbours. We enjoyed our two night stay.

Nuevo Albergo Centro is described as a basic hotel. And it is. The hotel is a good value and located in a newer (i.e., 19th Century) part of Trieste, two and a half blocks from the Grand Canal, close to the commercial area and with good restaurants in the neighborhood.The Nuevo Albergo Centro occupies one and a half floors of a five-story building; what Americans would call floors two and three. The hotel section is relatively new, and the building is probably two hundred years old and shows it. The elevator is up a half flight of stairs and apparently doesn’t have the safety feature for the door to stop closing and retract when blocked by something like a suitcase, or a person, or a person’s arm. I think the hotel is a tenant, thus they do not seem to have the responsibility for ensuring that the outside door closes and locks, and the entrance movement light goes on when it should.The staff is friendly and their English ranges from serviceable to good. They would benefit from more concierge-like knowledge of the area. The best meal we had on our vacation was around the corner from the hotel at Buracca e Burattini. The bed was comfortable and the room, although sparsely furnished, was large and clean. (Note in contrast to an online comment on the hotel: they do provide clean towels daily.) I thought it was really underpriced, to be honest. I stayed in a room with a private bathroom, and even though the bathroom was a tiny bit dated, it was a really nice hotel room! Polite staff, clean and a huge, comfy bed. Was really impressed.

The hotel is inside a building and it's not : you must use the building stair to reach the hotel rooms, which are located on two different floors. Reception is in the lower floor. Everything was fine. You can enter the main building even when the reception is closed, using a key. The cleanliness is good, the same for wi-fi and heating system. The breakfast room is quite small, but good. The breakfast is fine with enough choiche. The location is perfect, about in the middle between train station and city central squares. In my opinion, the room doors and windows could be a little bit improved. Regarding room description, I would add the dimension on the website. If back in Trieste, I would surely check the availability of this hotel.

The rooms with shared bathrooms were no problem at all, there were several bathrooms equipped with shower so I never had to wait or walk any distance to use the bathroom. Housekeeping was very discreet and left the room in good order. It has the feel a bit of staying in a pensione (like an expat traveling through Italy in a Henry James novella, say) but without the inconveniences (the floor on which the hotel is is very modern and clean).
