My stay at Hotel Lagon 2 was lovely, and the staff were terrific.The problem started when I got home, and I saw that I was charged twice for my stay. I was charged by Hotels.com and by Hotel Lagon 2. After MANY phone calls and emails (which included receipts) to Hotels.com, who in turn called Hotel Lagon 2, neither place would refund one of the charges. So either, Hotels.com never sent the money I paid to Hotel Lagon 2, or the more likely scenario, Hotel Lagon 2 was paid twice for my stay. My review would have been 100% great about my visit, but I've run out of options to correct this situation other than to leave this review. Please contact me. Thank you.

hotel tucked away with beautiful view of the ocean and close to Gorée Island. This location is under same management as the nearby Lagon 1 which has the private beach and restaurant on the pier. Staff are very friendly.

It was a decent hotel for the price and for the location. It was right down the road from a nearby beach. The service was very good, but it is always good in this part of the world.

You can get beautiful sea view from all rooms because of coastal location. Also the bar and restaurant are surrounded by beautiful and blue Atlantic Ocean.

Very poor wifi not suitable for business travelers excellent location, friendly staff, a very small hotel with few rooms and small staff. During check out the credit card machine did not work and had to settle with cash. A terrible situation to be in this day and age with virtually cash less economy.

They have sea views room and they have a concept. That is all. Breakfast is poor,services standart.

Just like many other reviews say, the rooms are pretty run down. All rooms face the water and have a nice view, but they are just not comfortable. My shower was all trashy, the shower head shooting water in all directions. They keep your door open while cleaning the room and tons of mosquitoes get in your room so expect to be bitten and chase them around all night. The breakfast is pretty good, the coffee machine is excellent. However, they charge you extra for an omelet or eggs which is kind of strange. Also, there is no free drinking water in the rooms (standard of other hotels in Dakar) so you have to take it from your minibar and pay. The staff is nice, no complaints there. Overall, I think the hotel is very very overpriced for what it really is.

A great place! Over the top yacht decor could be oppressively kitschy but instead, its fun and dear. Great restaurant on a pier out into the water, a fine small beach and a fully interior resto as well. Rooms are small but super clean and with balconies. Though you are delightfully entrenched in the feeling of the sea and sea culture, youre still just a 7-minute walk right into the heart of Plateau, Dakars most established downtown hood (GO TO BELUGA FOR DINNER!). Great staff, kindly and helpful. ONE cautionary note: the site says free hotel transfers but that is ONLY from 8am-8pm: after dark means charges and NO discount through the hotel NOR will management do anything to help. While this is annoying in principle, it didnt upend the time at Lagon for me. WOud go back in a heartbeat.

Used to be a nice hotel in the 80s, but has not been renovated since... not very clean. Far too expensive for what you get. Not coming back, there are better options in the area.

The hotel staff is very professional and attempted to make my stay a pleasant one. The hotel rooms and facilities were clean. As another reviewer wrote, the hotel is not as new and modern as what is depicted in the photos.

Stayed there twice, would recommend it to anyone.

Bathroom almost non existent. False advertising gym facilities The health club dirty, permanently without power, antique equipment. Very smokey bar / lounge area. Room layout totally funky Staff very friendly and helpful.

Nice location overlooking sea but nothing really in walking distance. Hotel has own restaurant but not well used. Breakfast continental but lacked freshness. Same ownership for restaurant next door. There is no direct connection so you have to walk 250m on roadway. Overall not bad. Lacking in atmosphere. Bit expensive for whats on offer. WiFi worked well.

Very nice Hotel and such a different experience. Almost like being aboard a cruise ship.

Moldy rooms from too long next to the water, and the restaurant is nothing to write home about, but this is a Dakar classic.
