The carpets in the room are old and not clean. They have a distinct smell that wasn't nice.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Citystars in Cairo, which is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but my experience was extremely disappointing and far from what I expected. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this hotel does not live up to its 5-star rating. The building itself is very old and poorly maintained. The rooms are similarly outdated, with furniture that looks like it hasn't been replaced in decades. The carpets in both the rooms and the hallways are not only worn out but also emit a very unpleasant odor, making the environment quite uncomfortable. The bathrooms and showers were in particularly bad condition. The fixtures were old and rusty, the tiles were cracked, and the overall cleanliness was well below acceptable standards. Using the shower felt like a chore, and the bathroom did not feel hygienic at all. The breakfast was another major disappointment. The quality and taste of the food were very poor, far below what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The selection was limited, and the food that was available was bland and unappetizing. Despite paying a rate that corresponds to a 5-star establishment, the experience I received was not even close to a 2-star standard. The disparity between the advertised quality and the reality was shocking. I expected a luxurious and well-maintained property, but instead, I encountered a place that seemed neglected and in desperate need of renovation.

Room is too small and noisy

I had a good time staying there until the time I checked out this morning. The guy at the front desk was rude and so unprofessional. He asked me if I had eaten any snacks or drink any alcohol in my room.i told him I didn’t even see them. He kept asking me over and over.Then he told me if I eat in the dining room I need to pay for it. I told him it was charge d to the room. He was rude and totally ruined my day.

It was beautiful hotel and so many options for dining and staff was excellent and shopping shopping mall.

Good staff , speaking English is a plus. Helpful reciption staff, great breakfast and staff , clean, quiet, but needs more hours in swimming area, and a microwave in each room will be great. Thanks for making the trip a good trip

Room very bad

The hotel is ok. Room space is not huge but it works. Cleaning is very good. The location next to the Citystars Mall is very convenient. My main problem was the food in breakfast. Although there are a lot of options, none of them are great. I asked for an omelette and it was extremely greasy. Cakes and breads seem old sometimes too. I recommend the hotel but not the restaurant.

It is an excellent hôtel. The only negativ Point for me was that the Air condition in our room was not working well : we did Not feel It !!

I liked the fact that the room is spacious, smoke free and clean. Staff are courteous and prompt in dealing with customers. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel opens up to City Star Mail which is great for dining & shopping . I love the Hotels breakfast .

It was ok.. the staff in the restaurant needs more training.. since i visited just before the start of Ramadan and had some days of Ramadan stayed as well, i was surprised to see that drinking water was not available during sahoor and some times in iftar though the meals were covered in the booking.. no tea or coffee either.. the coffee machines were switched off..

Ruined our vacation. Terrible experience. Never again. During our recent trip to Cairo, we opted to stay at the Holiday Inn. Unfortunately, our first impression of the staff was not a good one. They seemed cold and uninterested, not even bothering to respond when my girlfriend greeted them. Our room was even more disappointing, with old, crusty furniture that looked like it would break if we even sat on it. As if that wasn't bad enough, we discovered a bedbug crawling on the bed. We immediately went to the front desk to check out, but they offered to upgrade us to another room instead. We stayed for the night as it was already late, but checked out the next day, despite our booking being for three nights. The manager, Mostafa, apologized for the experience we had, but we felt that the real crime was miscategorizing this sad, bedbug-infested, old "motel" as a five-star hotel. It was a disappointing stay that we wouldn't want to repeat.

This hotel is great and it's right next to the City Stars mall.

Very bad service

first of all they give a room with no A/C in cold mode. I complain and they said the floor that you stay in all A/Cs are in hot mode only!! then they change the room and also the A/C in hot mode only !! and I complain about it and they offer to me to change the room because also the new floor don’t have the Cold mode in AC. The room is old as 2002 .

I booked standard room and was shocked that this is below the standard room . The room is too small without any aminities . The bathroom was too small . I upgrated my room to superior which was better than the standard but still there was no aminities in the room and if you need anything you should ask for it. I think this is not Holiday Inn style level .

Very disappointing… won’t book again in this hotel

Convenient location that’s about 15-20 minutes from the airport and attached to a mall as well as some restaurants in the hotel itself. The staff was pretty helpful and ensured that I got help when needed. Room was in good shape and had every amenity I needed too.

The room was small.. noise from outside was busy and loud, bathroom wasn’t clean at check in and water leaked from Shower to floor and the carpet outside the bathroom was wet. While they worked to get it all fixed .. didn’t feel like I was paying for the service and ‘stars’ advertised. However the location attached to mall was FANTASTIC!!

20 minutes away from downtown ($4 taxi) but many restaurants and a shopping mall close to it. Overall very convenient, comfy bed and clean. Quite but lively at the same time. Super nice staff
