excellent services

We stayed at the Senatus Hotel from 20 Jul 24 to 26 Jul 24. The staff was excellent and friendly. The breakfast was included and we liked it. Most of the attractions were within walking distance and had many dining options. The train station was also within walking distance, this would save a lot of money as you don't need a taxi to move around the city. One must take the Bosphorus Cruise option from the hotel, it's worth it. We enjoyed our trip and thank you staff of Senatus Hotel especially Hasan.

The bedroom is very small, there is no space to sit down in the reception area. The outside garden is rented to another good provider they ask you to move so they can prepare for lunchtime onwards.

Great location

We stayed for 5 nights. We have stayed in many hotels in Istanbul over the years and we particularly enjoyed the Senatus. It I very well situated for all the main attractions in Sultanahmet. A 3 to 4 minute walk to reach the Blue Mosque, Topkapi etc. We stayed in a double deluxe room with balcony. The breakfast was traditional Turkish and plentiful. The hotel has many bars, restaurants and little mini markets on the street, all very convenient. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Good, area is packed with restaurants and owners will hassle you but other than that the hotel is great

Excellent

I booked this property specifically because their balcony rooms were reasonably priced compared to other properties in the area. When I arrived on a very hot day in Istanbul, the AC in the balcony room was unable to keep up with demand. I occupied the room for one night however as I was due to stay there for a week I couldn't continue in that room as the temperature in the room never got below 29c (84 Fahrenheit). I brought my concern to hotel management and they were very responsive offering me numerous options. In the end I chose to downgrade to a room on a lower floor where the AC worked much better. The hotel is in a great location, tons of dining options right at the doorstep. Housekeeping did a good job, the rooms were always clean, although both rooms I occupied may be due for a deep clean as there were signs of mold in the showers. Breakfast offering not the best but was sufficient. I deducted two stars from the overall rating due to the disappointment of not being able to comfortably occupy the balcony room and also due to the refund I was offered. I was given a 20euro refund which doesn't seem consistent with the prices I see on Orbitz/Expedia (the price difference seems more in the range of $30 per night, and I was booked there for a week, so the 20euro refund I received just seems arbitrary).

The hotel is exactly as in the pictures. No surprises, fantastic location and the vibe in the area is friendly and chill. I was very relaxed here and would recommend to anyone

It’ss very nice 3-star hotel. The staff are all very friendly. The attached restaurant is a full service restaurant and menu prices are a tad higher than on simpler establishments, but the food is indeed very good and the service very professional and personable at the same time. It was a pleasure starting and dining at this hotel. We will likely want to stay here again.

Just ok

I was in contact with Ismail like a week before my trip to Istanbul, and he always answered all my questions quickly. The hotel arranged the private transfers from the airport. I had a special request for my daughter’s birthday and they were able to do it. Friendly staff. They also arranged a guided tour in Spanish.

I had a great stay. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, the breakfast is great, the restaurant next door is lovely. I would come back again. Thank you.

My room was not large, but very clean and renovated with a view on a small orange orchard. I would find 2 bottles of daily. The staff was friendy and helpful, helped with check-in and baggage, described the neighbourhood, tour options, and made sure the restaurant be aware and apply my VIP benefits, when dining. A friendly butler-dog greeting you at the entrance and a bunch of funny cats walking near the restaurant or holding outside seats for guests were an amazing addition.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic location, walking distance to everything. The staff was friendly and helpful, and our room for a family of four was very convenient. Pepe in particular was very accommodating and helped me with tasks that I didn’t expect one would do. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The Turkish breakfast options were amazing and we got to experience various options. We will definitely stay again if in Istanbul!

Great location very clean nice room and friendly staff. But you can arrange equivalent, much cheaper, transportation to and from the airport.

Great place to stay with it's own restaurant and great location for walking everywhere. Had everything we needed and was clean and tidy.

Not worth the Money!!They did not honour the free self parking. Sent me to the overpriced priced Otto park that they recommend. Found out during the stay while walking around I was overcharged. Breakfast is mundane and limited. Restaurant is over rated food wasn’t that great for what they charge.

Good location 5 minutes walk to Blue Mosque and Sofia. Lot of food options around. Breakfast also nice! The hotel helps you also in case you want to book activities in different locations in Turkey. Thank you Hassan and Ismai for helping us in our tour!

Great location & hotel

Staff were friendly, welcoming and very friendly. The room was clean, a nice size and had space to put our clothes. There was a restaurant down stairs which was useful if you didn’t want to go far.
