The staff helped us with information about the hop on hop off bus location.
The staff made our reservations for the Madero dinner and tango show. Were pick up and dropped off in front of the hotel. After all we are 78 years old ladies traveling alone. Great experience.The location is 1 block from the mall. Taxis were very inexpensive.

When I checked in I asked to have a twin room as a friend was joining me. I was told the would take 10 minutes but took closer to half an hour. 30 my minutes to change a booking?
The door to my room had a hole under the handle and I had to frig the handle before I could lock it on leaving. There was no safe in the room.
There was a total lack of electrical points in the room. The one that there was had an adaptor that ran three devices from it.
The bathroom door was badly warped and the were large piece of black dust that had been blown from the air conditioning onto the second bed.
Breakfast was average and the lifts were something from a 1930s French film.
The area surrounding the hotel is pretty grim but you could say that about Montevideo as a whole

Very old hotel looks nice on photos but when you get there the rooms are very small air condision dit not work and very busy street with alot of noice

The main reception staff was fine, but there was one guy who seemed annoyed with his job. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was ok but I wished for more healthy or vegetable options.
The water bottles in the fridge are a scam, no room sign with prices or advice from staff that these even cost money - I've stayed in hotels in 80 countries and hotels have either a paid mini fridge with lots of products, or they offer complimentary water. It's not right that they only tell you these are not included when you leave.

Very atmospheric and old-fashioned in the good sense of the word. You feel like donning a hat. Everything worked and the breakfast was ample.

I would suggest to go somehwere else..this people do not help u at all...they were unable to get payment from my credit card then were rude requesting new payment methods and denying my cancellation request...all that after expedia accepting my credit card....and having the necessary fonds on it...

The hotel is OK and within walking distance to many points of interest in the city. It is an old hotel but clean and quiet at nigh time. The two elevators are very old and small but they function well. The breakfast is OK (good coffee) but limited on choices. Overall it is a good hotel for the money.

Relatively old. Good selection for breakfast but room should be upgraded. Old bedding and towels. Old curtains and plenty of mosquitoes coming into the room.
We had to change rooms after the first night as it is a smoking hotel and we didn't know this before we booked.

expected type of hotel for URUGUAY. Had a problem with the parking attendant smoking in my rental car. booked a room that hotel.com said was still available and it was not. great breakfast convenient to the city center.

Hotel didn't receive booking, which was disappointing. This meant that I got a standard room despite paying for a room with a view.
Hotel is very old fashioned which is lovely.
People on reception were not interested in helping me get to the airport any way other than taxi despite having been able to get there by bus.

This hotel is in a fantastic location and the breakfast and free Wifi were great. The staff is also friendly (though English seems limited.) However, my room was quite small. If you're looking for a simple, friendly hotel downtown, this is for you.
