This is the perfect place to stay in Russel and Sue and Hamid are the best hosts

Very friendly staff close to beach spacious no air conditioning so bit hot

An amazing stay, loved the town, loved the accommodation and the service and had a memorable time. We drove around the North Island and stayed in a number of very reputable chains and hotels but the experience at Commodores Lodge was genuinely superior. units were large enough to accommodate us (family of 4), clean and very well maintained. location is certainly best you get in Russell. the pool was nice and convenient specially for our children, they absolutely loved it. Finally a big thank you to hosts Sue and Hamid for their smiling and welcoming faces and looking after us during our stay.

We rented the 2 bedroom unit. It was great, lots of room. The French press coffee is excellent! Close to everything.

Couldn't have asked for a better location! The Commodore is right in the middle of town and perfect for a stay in Russell if you don't want to use your car at all! The management on site were very friendly and helpful and our room was nicely opened and fresh for our arrival. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay and for the value of this lovely property would happily come again. The single beds were not as comfortable for tall adults however they would be fine for children I am sure! Free wifi was great throughout the grounds - occasionally dropped out however this was only for short periods. Free bikes and kayaks are available for guest use too

The courtyard is an ideal retreat from the town and the tourists but still gives you access to all the amenities that Russel has to offer. Our hosts were discrete but always available for help and advice. We would book there again without hesitation.

A great location for a quiet few days away. Within walking distance off all facilities, including island cruises and all restaurants. Enjoyed an all day cruise around the islands. Excellent boat and staff. Easily access to car ferry to other side of bay. Very quiet and staff very pleasant. Pool was good too.

A nice room with a view of the pool and lots of quality outdoor furniture to enjoy watching the kids in the pool, spacious 1bedroom unit, laundry facility and so close to everything in Russell. Friendly and helpful hosts, just a great family place to stay.
