Location location location. Parked up the car and walked. Walked to the lake, walked to the church, walked to the supermarket, the shops, the restaurants. And the sunrise over the mountains and lake, beautiful.

Fantastic overnight stay. Convenient to everything and great facilities

The motel is a bit dated. The room was so hot even with the heater on the lowest setting. We had to get up in the night and keep opening the door to let so heat out. The location is good - right across from the dark sky project and beach. The playground has a fun zip line for adults and kids. The huge complaint is the price of food. Some examples, $25 NZD for eggs and bacon, $32 NZD for a bowl a ramen?! There is a four square so I suggest picking up what you can there. If I went back, I would only get a room with a kitchenette to cook meals.

In centre of Tekapo. Across road to observatory, lake and close to shops/cafes. Great central place to stay.

This was a spot for a night stop over. We arrived at 1805 and the sign said the office closes at 1800. They left a key but no lights on the way to our room. We had to use a flashlight to unlock the room while carrying our bags. The room had a bad smell which may have been a new carpet but something like BO. Never interacted with staff. The free breakfast was worth the price. The village was not that nice. We moved on right after breakfast.

The location was convenient being walking distance to all the major attractions and shops. The room felt very dated and could do with upgrades throughout. The view onto the lake was great but we had to carry our luggage up and down two flights of stairs when it was icy and wet. The room had a thin glass door that didn’t block out the noise nor street lighting from outside. It wasn’t very good value for money overall.

The house is nice. The lady at reception is friendly & helpful.

No microwave in the room. Cleanliness in bathroom could be more thorough. Shower needs resealing as water seep out from shower cubicle to floor making it quite wet. We arrived and hour early and they offered for a luggage drop off. However since the luggage storage room was unlocked we decided not to for security reasons. Staff could at least check if our room is ready for slightly earlier check in.

Good location. One of the headboard lights was flickering Did not like washing dishes in the handbasin in the bathroom by the toilet. Also no washing up liquid provided.

Excellent location. Free upgrade to new building. Was a very short drive, and no view of the lake unfortunately but the building was excellent.

Carpets were terribly stained and damaged Showers were small and clostrophobic Property needs to be gutted and refurbished

Overall the house was very good and the lake view was wonder，But door handles of bedroom and toilet were damaged. Some lights in kitchen, bedroom and toilet were off. You have to go to toilet in totally darkness which was really bad. Need improvement.

There is no kitchenette for cooking and the hot water was not working for shower during our stay. However staff did resolve issue quickly to best of their abilities.

The staff was very accommodating to late check-in and responded to our email promptly. The room was comfortable. The heater was on when we arrived late at night so the room was nice and warm. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Had booked 1st floor to stay, but there is not lift. We asked for changing to ground floor. The staff was very nice to help us. Overall. We were happy to stay there and just walk less than 5 mins to reach lake , restaurants and market. Would happy to stay again next time .

Penthouse was large and comfortable - great location. Very large kitchen diner lounge - perfect for up to 6.

One of the Indians at the hotel reception was very rude! I arrived around 10.30pm and the front desk was closed. I tried to da a lot of phone calls and knocked on the front desk men but there was no response, my mailbox said the key would be in the box outside but it wasn't, then I kept knocking on the door and she opened the door very angry and scolded me, I said that I had booked the hotel for one night but hadn't given me the key in the box, she said it over and over again and scolded me angrily and had a bad attitude! Why are you scolding the guest when you are not doing your job properly? I was very angry. The only good thing about the hotel is the proximity to the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Very tiny old rooms, no chairs, hot water in shower was intermittent, sound from top floor, bathroom floor creaking, filthy carpets. Keys from other units worked on mine as I had a lady open our unit from outside. Extremely expensive not worth the $ 190. Wonder how wotif.com have these type of properties on their website.

Beautiful view of Lake Tekapo!

Didn’t like very much, used dental floss in hand basin. Lock on door doesn’t work well a huge safety issue here incase of evacuation. Carpet appears filthy and badly stained. Extremely poor outside lighting. Very good bed. What a shame the complex appears well worn and dirty and unsafe.

The room we were in was a good size and the bed was comfortable, The young lady from Latvia was very helpful and a great asset to the motel. The only thing we would have preferred would have been a couch that you could make into a bed if required.

The lock of the door has problem, also the hair dryer. Stayed for 2 nights and they did not make up the room.
