Staff was courteous, and housekeeping service were courteous. Guests can be very loud at night, but that's not the fault of the hotel. However, I couldn't believe that they wanted 350.00 pesos from me for arriving 3 hours early even though there was a room available. I twas outrageous. I travel a lot to many parts in the world and not a single hotel had charge me extra for checking in early.

I liked it’s proximity to the mall. Nice little 10 minute walk. The included breakfast was amazing! Staff treated me like an honorable guest. Very friendly. My four nights went by far too quickly.

Staff was very professional. The food in the cafe is excellent, well portioned and very affordable compare to the boardwalk restaurants.

Internet service was not up to expectations. Lots of buffering when watching streaming video. Bed was worn out being extremely soft which was not good for my back. Overall a good value.

Property is quite old and units interior are old school and not so well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing which is of my concern is that my daughter had some bites on her legs and i suspected that its bed bugs. This should be look upon that it might be a cause serious illnesses to their guests.

Walking distance to the Boulevard and port. Breakfast was nice and the room was clean. However, the water heater does not work and we have to shower cold.

I arrived at 10:30am. They would not wave the early check in fee. Earliest I could check in was 1:00pm. No manager available to discuss. Air conditioner was dripping on to the corner of one of the beds. Reported it. They put a towel down but did not fix. Breakfast Buffett was terrible. Limited selection. Location is good.

The Hotel Essencia is the best place to stay in downtown Dumaguete which puts you within walking distance of the stores and restaurants. The prices are reasonable for a hotel like this. The restaurant is acceptable.

Nothing special. It’s an average place to stay. The room I’m in the window was facing the not pleasant to look at. Haha

This hotel location was convenient for touring around the island and the room was spacious and comfortable with everything you need for your stay.The locals were friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant had excellent choice of food and drinks at a reasonable price. The free breakfast was also great. Above all the hotel staff and did a fantastic job responding to your requests, especially the restaurant staff. I would definitely return here to stay during my next trip.

The property is conveniently located and within walking distance of the main block that offers several dining options. However, complimentary amenities such as bottled water or set of coffee are not provided. Bed furnishings and furnitures are outdated.

Very very noisy hotel. Needs modernized. Threatening signs everywhere. Makes guests feel unwelcome. Breakfast not fully stocked and poorly done.

This is a busy central hotel that has seen better days. The staff are great but the rooms are dated, dark and not particularly comfortable. The incessant traffic noise could be heard even on the 7th floor so the room wasn’t very quiet. There was only one lift working which is a nuisance when the hotel is busy. Breakfast was ok but the room was so busy and people so greedy that there wasn’t anywhere to sit and not much to eat. It’s ok for a couple of days but I wouldn’t return to Dumaguete or this hotel.
